November 4, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) – Catholics voters frequently find themselves wishing more clergy, especially bishops, would speak out on the crucial nature of voting for life on Election Day instead of often enduring a prevailing silence on obvious pro-abortion candidates and party platforms. The recent resurgence of the late Mother Angelica’s simple advice on voting for life, in the form of a re-released viral video, shows the hunger Catholics have for guidance. When priests and prelates do speak out to remind Catholic

Life “Trumps” All Else . . .

A last-minute plea … To the Glenn Becks, Never Trumpers, Third Party Crowd, and the rest of the voters who are facilitating a Hillary Clinton victory: Each presidential election becomes more critical than the last, as our country continues its fast track to distance itself from our Creator and His laws. Here we are again with another election more important than the last. To the Catholic and the Christian, the two most crucial issues of the day are the right to life and the right to religious liberty, period. Without life, the most fundamental right, all other rights become insignificant. If we lose the right to practice our faith, every other right also becomes inconsequential. Any person or politician who…Continue Reading

November 3, 2016 breaking Comments Off on New Poll: Trump Up 13 Points with Catholics

It seems referring to the Catholic Church as a “Middle Ages dictatorship” and religious Americans as “backwards” might just cost you in the polls. Donald Trump is up 13 points against Hillary Clinton among American Catholics, according to a new IBD/TIPP Presidential Election Tracking Poll out Nov. 2. The same poll reports that Trump is up 22 points with American Protestants. This stunning new poll is a dramatic change from numbers reported earlier, particularly before the Clinton campaign’s disparaging emails about Catholics were leaked. In the now infamous “Catholic Spring

WASHINGTON (RNS) They are many, shift between parties and typically side with the candidate who ends up winning the White House. That’s what makes Catholics the ultimate swing voters in the U.S. And this year they are going to throw their weight behind Democrat Hillary Clinton, a panel of political analysts said Monday (Oct. 31).

I grew up Lutheran. I was admitted to Catholic Communion because I said publicly that I believed what the Catholic Church teaches.

I grew up Lutheran. It is of constant consternation and amazement to me that I have had to fight with Catholics over what the Catholic Church teaches about the Eucharist. I have met Lutherans who believe more about the Eucharist than a few of my seminary profs. I am not exaggerating. As things rev up toward 2017 and the Lutherfest, much about Catholic Lutheran dialogue will be in the offing. You will read lots of blah blah about… ….intercommunion. I say YES! I want intercommunion, too! I want intercommunion between Catholics and former Lutheran converts to Catholicism. Also, before everyone out there gets their underthings in a twist, I said “blah blah”.  Mark

The 2016 Democratic Party platform calls for taxpayer-funded abortion-on-demand, including a repeal of the Hyde Amendment, the often-cited federal provision that prevents some federal taxpayer dollars from paying for abortions. The platform also states the Democratic Party will “stand up for Planned Parenthood,” which killed more than 325,000 unborn human beings in 2013 and does trafficking in body parts of aborted babies. ZAGREB, Croatia, October 28, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) — It is “irreformable” dogma of the Catholic Church that only those who believe that Jesus Christ is truly present in the consecrated bread and wine are able to receive Holy Communion, stated Cardinal Raymond Burke. The Vatican cardinal said that St. Paul makes it clear that unless the person receiving recognizes the body of Christ, he “eats condemnation to himself.” “This is a sacrilege. This is among the gravest of sins,” he said.
