September 26, 2014 World News Comments Off on State Medical Board Lets Clinic Get Away With Killing Woman in Botched Abortion

The State Medical Board of Ohio has stunned pro-life supporters by dropping all complaints related to the death of abortion patient Lakisha Wilson. Those who filed complaints seeking an investigation into Wilson’s death at Preterm, a Cleveland abortion facility, have received form letters in the past week stating, “After a thorough review of the allegations, your complaint has been closed.” “That’s just not good enough,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “A healthy woman walked into that abortion facility and was wheeled out dead. Someone needs to be held accountable for that so it doesn’t happen to someone else.”

Professor Douglas Kries on Cupich

September 25, 2014 World News Comments Off on Professor Douglas Kries on Cupich

Well, this is interesting.  Professor Douglas Kries at Gonzaga University in Spokane gives his assessment of Bishop Blase Cupich, the Spokane Bishop tapped to head the Chicago Archdiocese: Bishop White Seminary at Gonzaga, which was nothing short of an extraordinary success story until Cupich became bishop, fell quickly into desuetude after his arrival. Moreover, when Gonzaga University refused to continue club status for Gonzaga’s campus Knights of Columbus council, Cupich, it is widely whispered, told the remaining seminarians not to discuss the matter with the press. It has also been widely reported that Cupich did not want his diocesan priests involved with certain pro-life groups that he considered too strident. Cupich may not even know it, but at the time,…Continue Reading

A group funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has been contacting Catholic school leaders, urging support for the Common Core standards and asking them to oppose the Cardinal Newman Society’s “Catholic Is Our Core” initiative. According to the Cardinal Newman Society, Sara Pruzin, a state operations associate for the Washington, D.C.-based Council for a Strong America (CSA), unintentionally contacted a Newman Society leader to rally Catholic support for the Common Core standards. Spinning the Synod

September 21, 2014 World News Comments Off on Spinning the Synod

Here are five misleading claims and skewed statements about the upcoming Synod of Bishops Carl E. Olson Here’s a word that hasn’t been used much in recent discussions about the approaching Battle of the Cardin—er, the Synod of Bishops, taking place October 5-19 in Rome: evangelization. Which is curious, since the official title, or theme, for the extraordinary general assembly is “The Pastoral Challenges of the Family in the Context of Evangelization”. To the contrary, it is safe to say that most people—Catholic and non-Catholic alike—think the Synod is going to be primarily about divorced Catholics, remarried Catholics, and the reception of Holy Communion by Catholics who currently live in “canonically irregular situations” (that is, are divorced and remarried).

September 20, 2014 World News Comments Off on Archbishop Coakley: Though City Leaders Do Not Take Seriously Threat of Inviting Evil Into Community, I Do

Washington, D.C., September 18, 2014 (Zenit.org) Here is an article from the Sooner Catholic, the newspaper of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, regarding the black mass scheduled at the city’s civic center for this Sunday. Archbishop Paul Coakley has used various tacticts over the last three months to protest the black Mass. He was successful in legal proceedings that asserted the consecrated Host to be used for the mass was stolen property and thus couldn’t be defamed or abused in any way. A representative for the satanic group returned the Host to a priest of the archdiocese after a judge ordered a stay. The archbishop has also gathered a worldwide community of prayer and reparation. On Sunday, a Mass and…Continue Reading

Bishop Cupich, 65, was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Omaha in 1975 and has served as bishop of Spokane, in Eastern

Sources confirm Cardinal Burke will be removed. But will he attend the Synod?

September 17, 2014 World News Comments Off on Sources confirm Cardinal Burke will be removed. But will he attend the Synod?

Sources in Rome have confirmed to LifeSiteNews that Cardinal Raymond Burke, the head of the Vatican’s highest court, known as the Apostolic Signatura, is to be removed from his post as head of the Vatican dicastery and given a non-curial assignment as patron of the Order of Malta. The timing of the move is key since Cardinal Burke is currently on the list to attend October’s Extraordinary Synod on the Family. He is attending in his capacity as head of one of the dicasteries of the Roman Curia, so if he is removed prior to the Synod it could mean he would not be able to attend. Burke has been one of the key defenders in the lead-up to the…Continue Reading
