You have asked me what the faithful can do to combat the errors spreading through the Church. I would like to answer with some suggestions: Spread The Gospel And Teachings Of The Church We must create groups of true Catholics, scholars, families, and clergy who will spread courageously the full Catholic truth, especially on the Church’s teachings on the family, on nature, and the commandments of God.

February 13, 2015 World News Comments Off on Archbishop Cordileone is a true shepherd of Catholic schools

Much ado has been made about Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone’s efforts to ensure that Catholic schoolteachers model moral behavior. If the mission of Catholic schools is to form students both in knowledge and in faith, then he is simply doing his job to ensure that teachers have the necessary qualifications for religious education. Archbishop Cordileone is the leader of the Catholic Church in San Francisco. He must protect the “brand” of his schools. His “Statement of the High Schools of the Archdiocese of San Francisco Regarding the Teachings and Practice of the Catholic Church” helpfully provides unambiguous guidance for archdiocesan high school employee

February 11, 2015 World News Comments Off on Two Years Ago . . . Benedict XVI became the first pope to resign in 600 years

February 11 is a holiday in the Vatican. It is the day when the Holy See celebrates the settlement in 1929 of the so-called “Roman Question”, the resolution of the 59-year stand-off between the Kingdom of Italy and the Holy See after the fall of Rome in 1870 to the Kingdom’s troops and the effective end of the ancient Papal States in central Italy. By chance it was also the day Pope Benedict XVI chose to resign. The date had been scheduled for a small consistory, comprising midday prayer and the announcement by Cardinal Angelo Amato of some beati due to be promoted to saints. There had also been a little gentle buzz for some time in the Roman Curia…Continue Reading
