Make This The Biggest Ever March For Life

January 11, 2014 Featured Today No Comments

By REY FLORES

On January 22, 2014, hundreds of thousands of Americans will once again converge on our nation’s capital to protest against abortion and the overall culture of death, which has killed so many already.
The date was chosen 40 years ago by the march’s founders to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Roe v. Wade.
To this day, it remains the largest annual gathering of Americans in Washington, D.C., but one would never know it by the deliberate omission of reports by the pro-abortion news propagandist media. God forbid that the average American might realize that so many Americans are opposed to the widespread systematic murder of the unborn!
Last year, over 600,000 showed up, even though it was an unusually cold and blustery January day. This year, the numbers are expected to grow considerably and some have speculated that it will truly be a million person march.
Many people attend each year, but the majority of them have increasingly been youth in the last decade. Each year sees more and more high school and college age people coming out in droves as part of school and church groups.
Some other folks you’ll start seeing more and more of are those from home-schooled families with many children. They are the very living signs of how the nation is changing course.
Perhaps that is why NARAL, Planned Parenthood, the federal government, and all of the pro-abortion news propaganda sycophants are becoming more aggressive and crass in their hateful anti-life laws, vitriol, and rhetoric.
These entities are genuinely threatened by the huge surge in pro-life activities in campuses across the country and by young people in general.
Even some young mainstream Hollywood actors are sending pro-life messages out in their films. One example is Vanessa Hudgens’ latest film Gimme Shelter, which I will be reviewing in next week’s The Wanderer.
There is no doubt about how this might be the largest March for Life yet.
If you want proof, just look at the new film 40, which I have supported and written about extensively. It shows much footage from the 2012 and 2013 March for Life events.
40 producer John Morales felt determined to capture and document all of the explosive excitement on film, almost as if to make up for the deliberate and irresponsible behavior of all of the news propaganda outlets that refuse to cover the event year after year.
If people watch this film and are not yet convinced that each successive generation of young people is more and more pro-life, then they must either be entirely blind to the truth or deceived by the evil anti-life forces that we are fighting against.
Had it not been for the late Nellie Gray and pro-life trailblazers like American Life League’s Judie Brown and the Pro-Life Action League’s Joe Scheidler, these young people might not be here today.
It is with utmost gratitude that we must recognize the original pro-life warriors who were the ones that said abortion was wrong, some even before Roe v. Wade was made into law.
While some names are more known than others, there are countless sidewalk counselors, priests, nuns, moms, dads, and just your average persons who fought these battles long before Facebook and Twitter and the Internet.
These folks were selling Lifesaver candies at traffic lights in all sorts of weather just to have enough money to print the brochures they would hand out in front of the abortion mills. I can only imagine the literally millions of rosaries which have been prayed outside of these death camps.
Just think how many graces have been bestowed upon so many women and babies because of those prayers and the prayer warriors who prayed them so devoutly. Had it not been for these folks, we may be talking about 300,000 million babies aborted since 1973 instead of the horrible enough 60 million.
To simply forge ahead without paying tribute to these terrific and exemplary people would be an injustice of immeasurable proportions.
If you do attend the Washington, D.C., March for Life or the West Coast Walk for Life on January 25, or any of the other marches and walks being organized all across the country, please remember that we are where we’re at now because of many brave souls who simply could not walk away from the horrors of abortion.
Just read Abandoned by Monica Migliorino Miller, and there you will read how some of these folks were retrieving the broken little bodies from the trash cans, simply to show these babies that somebody cared enough to give them a proper Christian burial. These folks gave these babies dignity in death, since they never had it in life.

Passing Of The Torch?

There is no passing of any torch here. The pro-life movement is an all ages, all races, all cultures movement that thrives with the knowledge and experience of the veterans and the energy and innovation of the young.
Together the young and old alike can fight together for the most fundamental human right of all. We are fighting for the survival of the human race. We are fighting for the sanctity of life, which is God’s greatest gift to us.
Abortion, contraception, violence of any kind, greed, lust, anger, sins of all kinds — those are our confirmed enemies. When we state that we are pro-life, that means everything that defines a good, Godly, healthy life where we serve others and strive for holiness and the good of all.
Please visit me at the March for Life convention at the Hyatt on January 21 and 22, where I will be at the American Life League booth handing out some terrific pro-life materials. I will also be at the Rose Dinner to say hello to you all. I would love to meet you there!

As Catholics we must band together to rediscover our faith and share it with the world if we are to effectively counter a society whose moral culture seems to have no boundaries and a government whose rapidly extending reach threatens to extinguish the rights of people of faith to practice their religion (witness the HHS mandate). Now more than ever, vehicles like The Wanderer are needed for clarification and guidance on the issues of the day.

Catholic, conservative, orthodox, and loyal to the Magisterium have been this journal’s hallmarks for five generations. God willing, our message will continue well into this century and beyond.

May Everyone Have a Blessed and Joyful Easter

Is Easter being replaced with the ‘Transgender Day of Visibility’?

Two observances — Easter and the recently contrived “International Transgender Day of Visibility” — fall on Sunday, March 31 this year, causing some to wonder “Is Easter being replaced with the ‘Transgender Day of Visibility?’” It’s a valid question. Abortion Advocates No Longer Consider It “A Necessary Evil,” They Celebrate Killing Babies

Last week, Kamala Harris became the first vice president in U.S. history to make a public visit to an abortion clinic. Though the Democratic party’s support for abortion is nothing new, Harris’ Planned Parenthood appearance does illustrate how that support has become a flagrant celebration of abortion as a public and personal good, essential to both “freedom” and to “healthcare.” At the appearance, Harris proclaimed,  It is only right and fair that people have access…Continue Reading
