Is It Time To Take “The Donald” Seriously?

August 1, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on Is It Time To Take “The Donald” Seriously?

By JAMES K. FITZPATRICK Back in 2011, the last time Donald Trump was talking about himself as a candidate for the presidency, I took the position in this space in The Wanderer that we “should not fall” for his sales pitch. I argued that Trump was all bluster and slogans, with no serious, thought-out policy recommendations; that he never moved beyond self-congratulatory rhetoric about how “smart, really smart” and “tough” he is. Things have not changed since 2011. Trump is still all sizzle and no steak, with a campaign filled with promises to not let our enemies “walk all over us” and to “make America great again,” with no specifics about how he will do these things. Does that mean…Continue Reading

Crunchy PP Creates Its Own 9-11… Newest Video Shows So Much Horror As Morality Is Crushed

July 30, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on Crunchy PP Creates Its Own 9-11… Newest Video Shows So Much Horror As Morality Is Crushed

By DEXTER DUGGAN You want vivid? Covering the continuing revelations in the Center for Medical Progress’s videos stripping the skin off Planned Parenthood’s corpse is like trying to have followed the tragedies of the thousands of victimized people in New York’s Twin Towers back on 9-11. There’s just so much horror. Something will be overlooked, some detail could be lost. But there still is so much that rivets the mind, that commands clarity like a laser. Since the first video was released in mid-July, Planned Parenthood’s defenders have grasped at whatever excuse slithers into their hands. Of course, bloody surgery may seem offensive, they say, but that’s just the routine reality medical professionals are used to, even with abortions. However,…Continue Reading

“A New Dark Age”

July 30, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on “A New Dark Age”

By PATRICK J. BUCHANAN “If God does not exist, then everything is permissible.” Ivan Karamazov’s insight came to mind while watching the video of Deborah Nucatola of Planned Parenthood describe, as she sipped wine and tasted a salad, how she harvests the organs of aborted babies for sale to select customers. “Yesterday was the first time . . . people wanted lungs,” said Nucatola, “Some people want lower extremities, too, which, that’s simple. . . . “I’d say a lot of people want liver. . . . We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see…Continue Reading

800 Plus Pro-lifers Attend Local “Women Betrayed” Rally . . . St. Paul, MN

July 29, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on 800 Plus Pro-lifers Attend Local “Women Betrayed” Rally . . . St. Paul, MN

Over 800 pro-lifers rallied in front of Planned Parenthood in St. Paul, where over 49 percent of all abortions in Minnesota were carried out in 2014.  The rally was in reaction to the videos revealing Planned Parenthood’s selling of baby parts. The St. Paul rally was one of over 60 held across the United States on Tuesday, July 28. Sponsors of the rally were Pro-Life Action Ministries, Students for Life of America, and the Minnesota Family Council. As seen in many of the signs at the rally, Students for Life of America’s theme was “Women Betrayed” and Pro-Life Action Ministries’ theme was “Planned Parenthood sells baby parts.” Brian Gibson, executive director of Pro-Life Action Ministries, told The Wanderer that the…Continue Reading

Another Video Released . . .Third Planned Parenthood Video Exposes Carnage And Cold Souls

July 28, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on Another Video Released . . .Third Planned Parenthood Video Exposes Carnage And Cold Souls

By REY FLORES Dr. Katharine Sheehan, Planned Parenthood medical director for the Pacific Southwest, is our newest macabre celebrity doctor to star in the ongoing expose of Planned Parenthood videos from the Center for Medical Progress. This latest video can be viewed on the Internet under this title: Human Capital — Episode 1: Planned Parenthood’s Black Market in Baby Parts. In one clip of this latest video, Dr. Sheehan gushes, “Oh, you’re warm, I want to hang on to you,” as she shakes one of the undercover investigator’s hands. It is so telling that Dr. Sheehan rejoices in a tiny moment of human contact with a warm, breathing, living human being, perhaps because she is so used to dealing with…Continue Reading

Tribute To A Prophetess

By DONALD DeMARCO The name Clare Boothe Luce is one that should not remain absent from the minds of contemporary Catholics. She may not have been a saint, but was vitally concerned about how much a saint can do to restore a backward culture. She understood only too well that in times of crisis we need saints. In 1952 she edited a classic entitled, Saints for Now. It was a compilation of 20 essays written by 20 distinguished authors (mostly Catholic) about their favorite saints and how much these servants of God meant to the times in which they lived. In her introduction, Mrs. Luce made the following comment: “We live in an intellectual climate of ambiguity, of multiple and…Continue Reading

Honest And Open Debate On Laudato Si

July 27, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on Honest And Open Debate On Laudato Si

By JAMES K. FITZPATRICK In his encyclical on the environment, Laudato Si, Pope Francis, after pointing to a “very solid scientific consensus” indicating that “we are presently witnessing a disturbing warming of the climatic system,” added that there are “certain environmental issues where it is not easy to achieve a broad consensus” and that the “Church does not presume to settle scientific questions or to replace politics. I want to encourage an honest and open debate, so that particular interests or ideologies will not prejudice the common good.” It would be out of line for me to raise suspicions about the sincerity of the Pope’s recommendation for an honest debate on this matter. I can’t read his mind. My problem…Continue Reading

July 26, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on Or 1 Lamborghini/Year . . . The Average Planned Parenthood CEO Salary: $200,000

By JAY HOBBS (Wanderer Editor’s Note: LifeSiteNews reprinted this essay with permission from the website Pregnancy Help News. All rights reserved.) + + + Now is as good a time as any to mention a factoid about the average salary for a Planned Parenthood regional CEO: just a cut below $200,000. In other words, about one Lamborghini a year. And that’s before you consider the bonus potential of wheeling and dealing with aborted baby parts distributors. Yessir, the sky’s the limit when you sign on to work for America’s most profitable nonprofit — experts at exploiting existing revenue streams like taxpayer dollars and paid baby dismemberment, and veritable creative geniuses when it comes to pioneering innovative business lines like the…Continue Reading

A Mideast Game Of Thrones

July 25, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on A Mideast Game Of Thrones

By PATRICK J. BUCHANAN As President Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran is compared to Richard Nixon’s opening to China, Bibi Netanyahu must know how Chiang Kai-shek felt as he watched his old friend Nixon toasting Mao in Peking. The Iran nuclear deal is not on the same geostrategic level. Yet both moves, seen as betrayals by old U.S. allies, were born of a cold assessment in Washington of a need to shift policy to reflect new threats and new opportunities. Several events contributed to the U.S. move toward Tehran. First was the stunning victory in June 2013 of President Hassan Rouhani, who rode to power on the votes of the Green Revolution that had sought unsuccessfully to oust Mahmoud Ahmadinejad…Continue Reading

Not Solving “Whole Universe’s Problem”. . . California Media School Plans For A Global Reach Anyway

July 24, 2015 Frontpage Comments Off on Not Solving “Whole Universe’s Problem”. . . California Media School Plans For A Global Reach Anyway

By DEXTER DUGGAN ESCONDIDO, Calif. — As he talked about the latest plans for expansion at John Paul the Great Catholic University here, The Wanderer asked school president Derry Connolly, Ph.D., how much this would cost. He flashed a big grin. “Probably a good question. Many million. . . . Our big challenge is buying real estate. While real estate is depressed, $10 million.” The real estate would be much more expensive if it were right in the Pacific Ocean coastal city of Carlsbad, he said. However, San Diego County’s Escondido is over to the east, in California’s coastal hills. Cost-conscious Connolly and his administrators know the value of a dollar, but they also trust in God to provide for…Continue Reading
