Cardinal Raymond Burke has said he is at the service of Pope Francis, has no personal animosity towards him, and those who claim the American cardinal is an opponent of the Pontiff are trying to discredit him. The head of the Vatican’s highest court also told Breitbart Tuesday the Catholic Church risks schism if bishops are seen to “go contrary” to the Church’s established and unchangeable dogmas in the months ahead. On November 4th Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke presented in Vienna the German edition of the book “Remaining in the Truth of Christ” that collects articles of five Cardinals. A video recording of the presentation will be published on Gloria.tv tomorrow. The gathering was organised by “Una Voce Austria”. In his presentation Cardinal Burke explained, that the book is a response to the idea of Cardinal Walter Kasper, who has “argued in favour of a change in what has been the constant teaching and practise of the Church” concerning marriage. Kasper has – so Burke – asked for dialogue and the five cardinals answered by presenting credible studies.

Thank Cardinal Burke For His Vatican Service

November 5, 2014 World News Comments Off on Thank Cardinal Burke For His Vatican Service

Cardinal Raymond Burke, one of the strongest pro-life and pro-family voices in the Catholic Church, has confirmed that the rumors are true: he will soon be moved from his position as the prefect of the Vatican’s Apostolic Signatura. For the past 6 years, Cardinal Burke has served in this role, heading up the highest court of the Catholic Church. He is now reportedly to be moved to the largely ceremonial position of patron of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Among Cardinal Burke’s many actions in defense of the truths of life and family has been his courageous stance in support of canon 915, which states that ministers of communion “must” refuse the Eucharist to public and “obstinate” sinners. Georke referred to a conference presentation by Father Paul Murray of the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas which named relativism, pessimism, and fundamentalism as the modern-day “lions” against – See more at: http://www.cardinalnewmansociety.org/CatholicEducationDaily/DetailsPage/tabid/102/ArticleID/3663/Catholic-Studies-Stands-against-Relativism-Pessimism-Fundamentalism-Says-Author.aspx#sthash.jjibReTi.dpuf

VATICAN CITY (RNS) American Cardinal Raymond Burke, the feisty former archbishop of St. Louis who has emerged as the face of the opposition to Pope Francis’ reformist agenda, likened the Roman Catholic Church to “a ship without a rudder” in a fresh attack on the pope’s leadership. In an interview with the Spanish Catholic weekly Vida Nueva, published Thursday (Oct. 30), Burke insisted he was not speaking out against the pope personally but raising concern about his leadership. “Many have expressed their concerns to me. At this very critical moment, there is a strong sense that the church is like a ship without a rudder,” Burke said.
