by Thaddeus Baklinski Mon Mar 10, 2014 15:07 EST     LONDON, March 10, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Amnesty International, an organization founded to defend those imprisoned for political crimes and to fight human rights abuses, launched a new campaign last week dedicated to promoting unrestricted access to abortion.   The global campaign, called “My Body My Rights,” was launched on March 6 in response to what the increasingly pro-abortion and homosexualist lobby group says is the failure of governments around the world to defend “sexual and reproductive rights.”   “It is unbelievable that in the twenty-first century some countries are condoning child marriage and marital rape while others are outlawing abortion, sex outside marriage and same-sex sexual activity – even…Continue Reading

DOUG ERICKSON | Wisconsin State Journal Madison Catholic Bishop Robert Morlino, a staunch traditionalist with a national reputation for vigorously opposing abortion and same-sex unions, said he and Pope Francis are in sync and that the new pontiff has made him a stronger culture warrior. In a lengthy interview with the State Journal, Morlino praised the first year of the pope’s reign, which has received widespread praise among Catholics for what is perceived as a new tone and style, and greater compassion for the marginalized. Yet Morlino cautioned that reporters and people with agendas have “outrageously misinterpreted” some of the pontiff’s comments, and he said Pope Francis actually is causing him to speak out even more forcefully on the

Since New law, One-third Of Texas Abortion Clinics Close

March 7, 2014 World News Comments Off on Since New law, One-third Of Texas Abortion Clinics Close

Closure of Beaumont, McAllen clinics leave 24 abortion facilities operating in Texas8 By Chuck Lindell American-Statesman Staff Thursday’s closure of abortion clinics in Beaumont and McAllen leaves 24 clinics operating in Texas, down from 36 in July, when Gov. Rick Perry signed stricter abortion regulations into law after two acrimonious special legislative sessions. Abortion providers attribute the closure of one-third of the state’s clinics to House Bill 2’s requirement that abortion doctors have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of the clinic. The number of open clinics has fluctuated in recent months. Several facilities, including a Planned Parenthood clinic in Austin, reopened after doctors secured hospital privileges after the requirement went into effect Nov. 1. In addition, state…Continue Reading

March 5, 2014 World News Comments Off on The Romeike’s can stay!!!’: Surprise decision means German homeschooling family won’t be deported

by John Jalsevac Tue Mar 04, 2014 18:29 EST PURCELLVILLE, VA, March 4, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In a surprising last-minute turn-around, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced today that they are granting “indefinite deferred action status” to the Romeikes, meaning the beleagured German homeschooling family won’t be deported to their home country after all. The development amounted to a shocking and welcome 180-degree turn for the family, who just yesterday had learned that the Supreme Court rejected their appeal of a lower court ruling refusing to grant the family asylum in the United States. That decision meant that the Romeikes had run out of legal options, and likely faced deportation to their home country, where homeschooling is a punishable…Continue Reading
