40 Film Raises The Pro-Life Bar

By REY FLORES

“As wolves attack their helpless prey, So Herod holds his murderous way, And hopes, but oh! he hopes in vain, To mingle Jesus with the slain.

“The cradles flow with infant blood, But God his fury hath withstood; The Lord alone he sought to slay, The Lord alone escapes away.

“Ye mothers, let no tears be shed,— Yea, weep not, though your babes be dead, For now they stand around the Throne, And Jesus counts them as his own.

“The Father’s name we loudly raise, The Son, the Virgin-born, we praise; The Holy Ghost we all adore, One God, both now and evermore.”

The above is an English translation from Latin of the old hymn Molles In Agnos Ceu Lupus, which means As Wolves Attack Their Helpless Prey Source: Rev. John Chandler, The Hymns of the Primitive Church (London: John W. Parker, 1837)

I wanted to share it because we recently commemorated the Feast Day of the Holy Innocents, so therefore we must again remember the innocents who continue to be slaughtered by our secular society which sees abortion as one of its most sacred ‘sacraments’.

We are also about to commemorate over 40 years of legalized abortion in our nation at the 40th annual March for Life in Washington D.C.

While I look forward to the march and my participation at the March for Life convention and the Rose Dinner with the American Life League, I am saddened that we even have to protest such heinous atrocities in a supposedly civilized society.

I am however excited to share with you that a film which I have been writing about during the last year and a half is finally completed and had its world premiere on a cold and snowy Chicago night just this past December 11 and 12, the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

For producer John Morales, the 40 film has been a test of his commitment to address and shine the brightest light yet on “the most important human rights issue of our time,” to an entire nation and generation.

Nearly 1,000 people attended the premiere on a pair of brutally cold nights, but the hearts inside the theater were very warm and the energy level was up to the nines. So much so that on the first night, there was not only a standing ovation, but two!

Pro-Life Champions, the nonprofit behind the film joined forces with Chicago-based Spirit Juice Studios and Movie to Movement to create what I would say is the strongest message via film to bring the youth of the world together to build generation after generation of people who will see abortion as the truly evil act that it truly is… and end it once and for all.

Cindy Morales who is the Associate Producer of the film shared the following words with me:

“People are e-mailing me from all over the country asking how to bring the movie to their area. We are very interested in working with pro-life groups to use 40 as a fundraiser, and people who want to do that should contact me. Anyone interested in bringing this life-saving film to their community can order a showing through this website: http://licenses.tugg.com/products/the-40-film.”

She added, “We also want to see the film in schools across the country, as Fr. Frank Hoffman, Executive Director of Relevant Radio said, ‘This film should be in every high school and college across the country, especially every Catholic high school and college.’ ”

40 takes on the heated issue of abortion head-on and investigates the effects of abortion in our nation over the last 40 years. The film which began production at the 2012 March for Life in Washington D.C., presents abortion as the most important human and civil rights issue of our time.

40 provides inspiring stories and deeply personal interviews with over 40 leaders of the pro-life movement and several pro-choice activists. The film also showcases numerous women who once worked in Planned Parenthood clinics and several former abortion providers.

40 takes on the controversial issue of rape with powerful testimonies from women and men who were conceived in rape and were victims of rape.

The film also addresses some of the strongest arguments for the pro-choice position such as “it’s my body, my choice” countered by pro-life answers from a wide array of pro-life leaders.

One of the most important facets of this film is how it addresses the effects of abortion in the African-American and Hispanic communities.

The film chronicles the lifesaving work of the important crisis pregnancy centers across our nation who provide women with real options such as adoption and concludes with an inspirational look at the annual March for Life focusing on the youth as the generation that will end abortion.

Rebecca Kiessling, who was conceived in rape and is the director of Save The 1, had this to say about the film, “40 is destined to become the premiere film for educating youth on abortion.”

Directed by the producer of the award winning film Champions of Faith: Baseball Edition, John E. Morales, and also with executive producer and Movie to Movement Founder, Jason Jones, 40 features many inspiring stories and deeply personal interviews with champions of the pro-life movement.

Up and coming actress Jennifer Cadena, who starred in The Roomate, Crescendo, and the upcoming film, Little Boy, narrates the 40 film and was present at the premiere.

Please consider making a kind and generous donation to help market this film to as wide an audience as possible. To set up interviews with the producers or to make a donation, please contact Cindy Morales at info@the40film.com Cell: 773-835-0455. Visit www.the
