7,000 Pro-Lifers March In London

By STEVEN ERTELT

LONDON (LifeNews) — Over the weekend, some seven thousand pro-life people in the UK participated in the March for Life in London to protest abortion.

They marched to Parliament Square on Saturday, September 2 under the banner of “Freedom to Live” and had to deal with a handful of radical abortion activists.

During the rally associated with the march, March for Life Co-Director Isabel Vaughan-Spruce talked about how she was arrested for silently praying against abortion outside an abortion center in England.

“On the second time I was arrested, I was told my prayers were an offense. I’ll tell you what is offensive: that our country has the highest ever abortion figures, 100,000 of them annually being repeat abortions, and the only response we see happening in our government is a clamp down on those who peacefully offer alternatives to pregnant women.”

Tory MP Sir Edward Leigh attended the march as well and said, “Great to see so many turn out for this weekend’s March for Life UK — defending the rights of the most vulnerable in our society.”
