“Everything written about me in the . . . psalms must be fulfilled” (Luke 24:24).

According to the introduction of this book, the author tells us that it was this single quote that inspired him to write this specific book. However, author William J. Casey, Ph.D., is no stranger to the Bible and has incorporated his analytical and industrial research background into further developing his knowledge of Christ and the Bible.

Thankfully he hasn’t kept all of this wonderful knowledge to himself and has already published four books and currently has yet another manuscript under editorial review.

As if the miracle of waking up every day wouldn’t alone constitute a validation of the true existence of God, we constantly have to be evangelists, trying to convince others that God does truly exist. I’m OK with that. I thrive in this evangelism.

In comes Casey’s new book which incorporates his experience and knowledge in research and studies to yet once again prove that God truly exists. Just how many times, just how many approaches, just how many ways, and just how many roads must we take to lead the ignorant to the truth?

Anyway, here is a book which breaks down the “40 Psalm prophecies” in a CliffsNotes-like manner for those of us too lazy, or unwilling, to really read the Bible and get to know our faith as we should. In full disclosure, a book like this helps people like me very much.

Immediately before the “Contents,” we get a page which boldly states and asks, “A Book Within a Book: Scan or Study?” This page instructs the reader on how to best read and benefit from this book. These instructions encourage the reader to either only focus on the bold Scripture passages, that being the “scan” part; or take advantage of the “study” part right under the bold text, to get the more detailed scriptural citations which allow us to absorb the material a bit deeper.

This book further reminds me of those “For Dummies” books which help simplify any given topic, except that this book focuses on the one most important aspect of our lives, Jesus the Son of Man. Like the “Dummies” books, the author presents a Scripture passage, explains it in detail, and then invites us to examine our own ideas of what we just read.

Through correlations with both the Old Testament Psalms and the New Testament Scripture, the author takes us on a journey through the divine “Grand Plan” foretelling the coming of the Messiah, the early years of our Lord Jesus, all the way to activities foretold in the Scriptures that occurred after Christ’s death and Resurrection.

I describe 40 Psalm Prophecies Unlocked as an interactive book which kept me engaged from cover to cover. These are the kind of books I like. It’s a reference book, yet it also teaches us about the faith and God, further inspiring and strengthening my love for God and our Church.

Overall, this terrific book boldly states the obvious to believers like you and me, but it also has the power to bring nonbelievers closer to eternal truth. Like Casey says, “The many Psalm associations cannot possibly exist by mere coincidence. The probability of ‘by chance’ becomes essentially zero because there are just too many detailed connections.”

Old Testament and New Testament have never been made clearer to me, and I am forever grateful to the author for providing such a neatly packaged treasure of information and truth.
