Abortionist’s Arraignment Set On Gun-Pointing Charge

By DEXTER DUGGAN

PHOENIX — A Phoenix abortionist accused of pointing a gun at a pro-lifer is scheduled for arraignment November 25 on two counts of aggravated assault, a spokesman for the Maricopa County Superior Court told The Wanderer.

A pro-lifer made a video of Ronald Yunis, MD, driving out of the parking lot at the Acacia Women’s Center abortion clinic in midtown Phoenix on October 10, where he works, pointing what clearly appeared to be a handgun at Elvis Kesto, a member of Apologia Church, as Yunis drove over the sidewalk onto Osborn Road, near North 16th Street.

The non-Catholic church, located in suburban Mesa, regularly has congregation members on the sidewalk witnessing for life at the abortuary.

The Wanderer reported the incident in the hardcopy issue of November 7, page A7, under the headline, “Phoenix police slow to arrest abortionist after video shows him pointing gun at pro-lifer.”

The pro-lifers gave a copy of the video and made a complaint to Phoenix police the day of the incident. However, when the abortionist still hadn’t been arrested a week later, Kesto called police again on October 17 to come to the clinic.

These tech-savvy pro-lifers made a video of police officers who arrived at the scene making excuses about lacking evidence to make an arrest, even though one of them admitted he hadn’t checked Yunis’ car for a weapon. This officer said he couldn’t conclusively say there was a gun in the video.

After the pro-lifers uploaded a revealing video summary of the events to YouTube on October 18, titled “Abortionist pulls gun on minister,” the police soon made the arrest.

By midday on November 13, the video had received 117,113 views.
