Abortions At The Border

By BARBARA SIMPSON

The media have been filled with news about the crisis at the border of this country with Mexico. It’s not a pretty picture. In terms of numbers alone, the latest figures released by the Department of Customs and Border Protection show that 207,416 people were caught crossing the border in June alone.

That was down 14 percent since May, but it is still the fourth month in a row that interceptions have been at more than 200,000.

A dangerous aspect of the figures was reported by Fox News…that six of those caught were on terror watch lists, which brought the total number of terrorists caught this year so far to 56.

Another shocking aspect of these figures is that during the prior four years combined, just 30 terror suspects were arrested.

The increase is shocking.

The reality of this situation raises the question of the attitude of the Biden administration toward the security of the border. Joseph Biden is accused of being soft on immigration and that is encouraging people to make the effort to cross the border. Essentially, they know, that if they make it across, they are literally, home safe. Often, with the assistance of the government, they are being transported to American communities where they are set free.

Now there’s another aspect of how these illegal aliens are being treated by the U.S. government. On behalf of our government, pregnant illegals will have “full access to reproductive health care.” This is according to ICE policies and standards, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.

What does that mean? Free abortions for all who want them!

Tae Johnson, acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), has affirmed that transporting pregnant illegal immigrants to states where they can get abortions falls under “existing ICE policies and standards.” In other words, if they are in a jurisdiction that forbids abortion, the government will transport them to a jurisdiction that does and U.S. taxpayers will foot the bill.

A report on this on LifeSiteNews requested a comment from ICE, but none was received.

According to Breitbart, “U.S. health officials have” already “been flying or driving (unaccompanied alien) minors from Texas shelters to other states for abortions” over the last nine months.

Funny, we haven’t seen that in the news!

Abortion activists continue to stress the need for immediate assistance for pregnant women to have access to abortion.

No one should have any doubt that the president would agree with such measures. In fact, he has often affirmed his commitment to expanding access to abortion in this country and his reaction to the Supreme Court decision overruling Roe v. Wade was that the court was “out of control.” He promised to protect women’s ability to travel to pro-abortion states to kill their unborn children, because that is exactly what abortion is.

Among the fallout of the Supreme Court ruling is a growing movement among some states to pay women to travel to states where they can get an abortion. In addition to that, there are a number of corporations which have announced their plans to pay for their employees to travel for abortions.

There was a Democrat proposal to legislatively protect women’s ability to travel out of state for abortion — but — when the measure was put to a vote, Senate Republicans voted “no.”

The Democrat governor of California, Gavin Newsom, is a strong proponent of the idea and in fact supports having taxpayers pay for such abortion travel. When he speaks on that, he refers to state residents as well as women traveling from other states. How that will survive the possible wrath of California taxpayers remains to be seen. Residents there pay some of the highest taxes in the country. There are no specific estimates of the cost of such programs, but estimates are in the millions, if not more.

Reaction in Washington to such proposals is creating a firestorm. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is furious and has vowed to take action against DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas when, as he said, Republicans take back Congress in the midterms. He wants Mayorkas impeached for facilitating the illegal human trafficking and compromising America’s sovereignty.

That promises to a be a fierce election.

Cruz is outspoken about the fact that every illegal who crosses the border, both male and female, is paying Mexican Coyotes for “transport” from their home to the United States. They pay them thousands of dollars each for the trip — paying cash but often creating a debt that will have to be repaid.

Given that they come to the United States with nothing, they will have to raise the money to repay the Coyotes while they are in this country. According to Cruz, who knows what they will do while here to raise the thousands of dollars to pay the Coyotes for the trip?

No one seems to care about that part of the problem. At least, not yet.

Sen. Cruz wants a full trial in the Senate so the public can see the evidence of the people who are suffering and dying “as a result of Joe Biden’s dereliction of duty.”

One aspect of all this is that neither the president nor the vice president has seen it necessary to go to the border to see for themselves what the situation is for American citizens there.

For the president, this is the worst illegal immigration situation in 62 years, yet he does not go to see for himself, but remains protected in Washington.

For the vice president, the situation is even more egregious. Kamala Harris was appointed the “border czar” and even she has avoided going to the Rio Grande Valley to see for herself the reality of the situation — for the illegals and for American citizens who live there. Instead, she went to several Central American countries to see living conditions there and what those people want to leave.

How that helps American citizens is anyone’s guess. but clearly Kamala needs some political direction in her activities. The well-being and the safety of Americans are not part of her agenda — nor of Joe Biden’s.

It leaves one to wonder whose side are they are on?
