Contraception: The Ultimate Judas Kiss

By REY FLORES

“Every time a married couple engages in the act of coitus, that act signifies life. By the union of their flesh, they express without words not only their unity, but the sacrament of new life. But when they contracept with a contraceptive mentality, their motive is to use the act which expresses what it signifies, for an entirely interiorly, purely selfish reason. Contraception is an act of hypocrisy . . . contraception is like the kiss of Judas; it takes a sacred sign of intimacy and destroys it by its sinful inner motives. We need to decry this sin against marriage” — Fr. Paul Nicholson; see www.FatherPaulNicholson.com.

I was originally going to include some of the Guttmacher Institute’s numbers here on just how many Catholic women they claim use contraception, but I decided against it for a couple of reasons: One, I don’t believe that Guttmacher has ever had any love for life, much less Catholic life, and two, one Catholic woman using contraception is one too many.

How many women in our own Catholic families and parishes use contraception? That’s a good question and if I were a pastor at any given Catholic church in America, I would make the case against contraception one of my highest priorities.

As a man I am outraged enough, but if I were a woman, I would be ten times more enraged over how we have allowed one of God’s most beautiful and powerful gifts to be altered, used, abused, and violated in such horrible ways.

The power to biologically create life is an awesome and divine gift. We have corrupted it with poisonous contraceptives of all sorts, and for what?

We know that pharmaceutical companies are being sued in countless court cases for causing all types of cancers and deaths; but what about the spiritual death that contraception causes? We can’t put a dollar amount on that, can we?

Why aren’t we taking to the streets and denouncing the true War on Women that was launched by none other than Margaret Sanger a century ago when she first coined the modern, anti-life propaganda term “birth control”?

Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen once said: “Birth Control — the words are not very proper because those who believe in it actually believe neither in birth nor in control.”

Birth control is really a soul-stealing tool of Satan that cheapens the marital act and invites all sorts of depraved, abnormal, and perverse behaviors that can only lead us to death and disease and the loss of souls.

Make no mistake about it, and I am talking to men and women alike: How dare any of us think for even a second that we are somehow smarter than God and able to decide that we want to partake in one of the most sacred human acts, especially outside of our own matrimonial vows, for sexual pleasure alone?

Are we nothing more than animals that can engage in intercourse on a whim and defy the purpose of His design by placing a life-killing wedge between God’s plans and our selfish pleasures and desires?

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the epitome of hatred toward God. When we contracept, we are spitting in God’s face and telling Him that we know better and that we are our own masters of our destinies and worldly pleasures. Who needs God when we can eat, drink, and have sex all we want on our own terms?

So why are our own Catholic women still using contraception? Is it because the Church is not doing enough to teach that contraception is not permitted or is it because we prefer to “go with the flow” and would rather live by the modern ways of life?

The Pill Kills

As recently as 2008, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) stated: “Taking the pill is simple, safe, and convenient.”

Studies show that most women who have died from the use of the pill or other birth control products have died from blood clots, heart attacks, or pulmonary embolisms. The pill can also cause many other serious problems, such as cancer, depression, and much more.

Yes, these are the results of contraception. It kills life, it kills marriages, it kills families, it kills society, and it is killing the future of our Church.

It isn’t just the Pill itself, but all other abortifacient drugs and devices, such as the intrauterine devices more commonly known as IUDs.

Even pro-abortion and pro-contraception media outlets like the Huffington Post are writing about the dangers of some contraceptives. Huffington Post reported December 18, 2013 that after only a month of NuvaRing use, 27-year-old Lyndsey Agresta was rushed to the hospital in unbearable pain. After two-thirds of her right cerebral hemisphere was removed due to hemorrhage and a stroke, she died six months later. A lawsuit alleges that NuvaRing use caused her death.

On June 7, 2014, pro-life activists and organizations are taking it to the streets across America at local Planned Parenthood locations, independent abortion and contraception providers, pharmacies, school campuses, and even some churches to say no to The Pill.

American Life League, the largest grass-roots Catholic pro-life education organization in the United States, and several sponsors like Pro-Life Wisconsin, Children of God for Life, and Pharmacists for Life are inviting you to organize an event in your area to raise awareness, educate, and put an end to life-killing contraceptives that are poisoning and killing many lives, marriages, families, and our society as a whole.

Talk to your family and friends and invite your pastor to take an active stand against The Pill on June 7, 2014 all across America.
