It is appropriate to conclude this “Culture of Life” series on homosexuality with a few encouraging words.
Despite what slanted polls say, most Americans — and certainly all Wanderer readers — strongly believe that matrimony is a sacrament established by Jesus Christ Himself, reserved only for a man and a woman.
Those of us who do not believe in ersatz homosexual “marriage” or any other special rights for homosexuals should be encouraged not only by the rightness of our cause, but by the many weaknesses of those who seek to impose their bizarre ideas on all of us.
Although homosexual “marriage” is now legal across the land, the mere word of five unelected lawyers will never change the natural law and will never alter reality. The words “his husband” or “her wife” will always sound ridiculous. We may be forced to endure these difficult times, but we will outlast the opposition, exactly as we have outlasted it for 20 centuries.
Weakness 1: Lack of Grassroots Support. We are accustomed to hearing homophile groups condemn pro-family activists as “hateful bigots,” “narrow-minded religious fanatics,” and, of course, “a small but vocal minority” (sound familiar?). Even when people voted against homosexual “marriage” initiatives by large margins, some state governors and United States senators went so far as to condemn these majorities as “bigots.”
Many homophile activists support homosexual “marriage” and adoption, the lowering of the age of sexual consent to early adolescence, the “right” of homosexuals to have sex anywhere and anytime the urge seizes them, even in public restrooms and city parks, the availability of very expensive tax-paid “sex-change” operations, and the right of any man who suddenly feels like a woman to use women’s restrooms and shower facilities.
Not many ordinary people think like this, because such thinking, which is entirely disconnected from reality and truth, is generally a malady of the elite.
Homophile groups are elitist by their very nature. They devour hundreds of millions of dollars annually from foundations, the government, and rich homosexuals, who have a lot more money than we do because they generally do not have children and do not donate to churches.
These groups include the Human Rights Campaign ($56 million income in 2013), Gay Men’s Health Crisis ($26 million), the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Community Services Center ($91 million), Lambda Legal Defense ($21 million), and the Whitman-Walker Clinic ($30 million), to name a very few.
Meanwhile, local pro-family groups struggle just to exist, kept alive almost entirely by lower and middle-class families who are also trying to raise a family and support their churches. The combined revenue of these groups was just over $7 million in 2013, meaning that they are being outspent by homophile groups 100 to one.
Homosexual groups spend tens of millions of dollars annually on lavish public relations and propaganda campaigns as a substitute for grass-roots organizing. This is a real weakness of the homophiles, caused by years of plentiful funding, and has led to shortsightedness and laziness in organizing.
Pro-family groups should take every opportunity to highlight the extreme positions of the homophiles. This is an excellent way to show non-involved people who the real extremists are by undercutting the careful image that homophiles have been cultivating for years. This happened recently when the citizens of Houston voted down their lesbian mayor’s pet project, the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO), better known as the “Bathroom Bill.”
The point to emphasize is this: Pro-family activists are average freedom-loving Americans, and activist homosexuals are an extreme and oppressive minority with an agenda that would repulse 95 percent of people if it were generally known.
Weakness 2: The Stark Realities of the Special Rights Movement. Our morally blind society subscribes to the bizarre and illogical “doublethink” that it is moral to commit certain heinous acts (such as abortion, homosexual acts, and the production of extreme forms of pornography), but it is not all right to describe them or show pictures of them. Homophiles hate it when we show photos of men simulating sex during “gay pride” parades, and show how promiscuous homosexuals, both male and female, lose decades from their lives.
Mahatma Gandhi said: “Man easily capitulates when sin is presented in the garb of beauty.” Many pro-family people feel uncomfortable when exposed to graphic descriptions of the savagery wreaked on bodies and souls by homosexual practices. This is because these people have partly bought into the strange idea that we should not shock, disturb, or traumatize people in any way, even when terrible injustices are taking place.
We must ask ourselves a couple of simple questions.
If we are religious, would we rather see practicing homosexuals remain comfortable and accepted in this world and burn in agony in Hell for all eternity, or would we rather see them suffer the relatively minor trauma of rejecting their lifestyle and spending all eternity in Heaven?
Second, if we oppose smoking, the use of illegal drugs, and the excessive use of alcohol because these practices are dangerous to lives and health, why do we not oppose homosexual practices, since they endanger lives and health to a far greater degree than smoking, drinking excessively, or using illegal drugs?
People do not take action until they see the reality of evil. This is true regardless of the issue — the clubbing of baby seals, the horrors of slavery, the bloody aftermath of abortion, or the hideous practices promoted by the special rights movement.
Weakness 3: The Gross Inconsistencies in Homophile “Thinking.” Homophiles appear to place a premium on consistency.
This is very strange since they are extremely inconsistent themselves.
Pointing out inconsistencies in the homophile mentality has a great impact on audiences and individuals, especially if they are liberal.
Some of the many inconsistencies of the special rights movement include:
The homophile movement claims to champion free speech while doing everything it possibly can to shut down and silence its opposition, going so far as to have one pastor, Scott Lively, charged with crimes against humanity;
The homophile movement asserts that the government has no place regulating relationships between “gays,” but demands that it pour billions of dollars into curing the many diseases that result;
The homophiles condemn as a “tiny and vocal minority” those pro-family activists who oppose them, when in reality they themselves are a microscopic bunch of rich elitists; and
Homophiles say that pro-family activists are “intolerant” and “judgmental” while calling us every filthy name in the book.
Weakness 4: A Profound Inability to Debate. Homophiles have all of the worldly advantages we can think of. They have the media, the government, and the money in their pockets. But all of this privilege has one deadly effect — it inevitably leads to moral and mental sluggishness.
Homophiles always argue from a worldview carefully constructed from feelings, emotions, and personal experience. This can be a disadvantage for the pro-family debater at certain times, such as when debating before a liberal college audience. After all, when a person is conditioned to think in terms of rights and entitlements and personal feelings, emotions, and experience, it is easy for them to dismiss documented facts and figures.
However, in the great majority of cases, the pro-family activist will be able to use hard facts to change the opinions of those who do not have completely closed minds.
Remember that, as a debater, you have two gigantic advantages:
The facts are always on your side. Even if the facts do not initially seem to favor your arguments, all you have to do is dig a little deeper. Remember that any facts dished up by homophiles are invariably fabricated or just plain inapplicable to the argument; and
Those whose entire thought process is based on feelings and personal experience have entrapped themselves intellectually. They simply cannot think outside the little box they have made for themselves. They are incapable of handling new arguments, and they are utterly inflexible. When they encounter something new or aggressive, such as a properly trained pro-family debater, they simply cannot deal with the resulting loss of control.
Conclusion. Things look pretty dark for the pro-family movement right now. But this is what the Devil and the special rights movement want you to think.
In reality, it is not our job to win, it is God’s. “The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord” (Prov. 21:31). If we stay true to God and do our best to prepare for battle, and then go out to face the enemy with courage and perseverance, we will be amply rewarded. “He who endures to the end shall be saved” (Matt. 24:13).
God always takes care of His own.
