What happens to aborted babies? Are they sold, experimented on, used in retail products, sent to a landfill, burned or buried?
Do you know? Do you care?
The abortion statistics are staggering.
In the United States, since Roe v. Wade in 1973, there have been almost 57 million abortions.
Worldwide, since 1980, the U.S. Abortion Clock estimates there have been 1,329,845,921 abortions.
Think of it, nearly a billion-and-a-half, and that number constantly increases.
Did you ever wonder what happens to all those preborn babies that are brutally removed from their mothers’ bodies?
Most people don’t. Every time there’s a news story about abortions or abortion clinics, the focus is on the situation of the pregnant woman, her family, and her decision to end her pregnancy.
She decides, goes in pregnant, has the abortion and comes out not pregnant and goes on with life.
But what about the “product” of the abortion?
What happens to the lifeless body of what was to have been a fully developed human being?
The Telegraph in London published a news story based on a Channel 4 investigation concerning the remains of abortions, miscarriages, and stillbirths in some 27 UK hospitals.
They were shocked to learn that a good percentage of those remains — considered clinical waste — were incinerated in energy plants to provide heat for hospitals.
Don’t get smug. The U.S. EPA has “green hospital” plans, and it contains ideas to better management of hospital “waste.” Do we really know what that means?
Remember, dead fetal remains are considered hospital waste.
The Daily Mail in London reported on another Channel 4 investigation, which revealed that the remains of 86 aborted or miscarried babies, which should have been cremated, were kept in storage at Walsall Manor Hospital for nearly four years.
There were huge apologies and calls for internal investigations and that five women would be notified of the outcome of their abortions.
The hospital said the other 81 women would not be contacted in order to avoid “widespread distress” — whatever that means.
It was reported that some 700 fetuses are kept at the hospital annually until proper paperwork is completed. Why some were kept for four years wasn’t really explained.
It’s important to remember that the only difference between a “baby” and a “fetus” is whether or not the woman wants it.
The problem is that when she wants it, calls it a baby, and welcomes the pregnancy, in her mind she knows it is a growing human being and she wants to protect it.
When she doesn’t want the pregnancy and doesn’t want it to proceed to its normal and natural conclusion, the word “baby” is not used.
It becomes “tissue” or “fetus” or “it.”
The goal of the woman is not to give birth but to get rid of whatever is in her as soon as possible, and that “ridding process” is called an abortion.
The problem is that for most people, the abortion is the end in itself. It’s the means of destroying the unwanted pregnancy. But it is, in reality, the process of ending the life of what is growing and developing in the body of the woman.
For the woman, when the abortion is over, that’s the end of it: no more pregnancy.
That’s how abortion is discussed, written about, and rationalized by those who would never admit that it also is an act of murder — the intentional killing of a living human being.
Remember, at that point, depending on your point of view, it becomes medical trash. Waste.
I have seen hundreds of television news reports about abortion over the years and heard as many radio reports and none have dealt with what happens to the dead baby.
Remember the horror story of Dr. Kermit Gosnell of Philadelphia — an abortionist who killed babies inside and outside of the woman’s body and, I guess just for fun, kept baby parts in jars, pails, and freezers in his facility.
It’s comforting that he was convicted of his crimes in 2013. It’s a pity it took so long.
The news report of the British hospitals’ use of fetal remains for furnace fuel to heat buildings didn’t get much attention in this country, but it should have.
I think the Department of Justice should investigate abortion clinics — independent ones as well as those run by/affiliated with Planned Parenthood — to find out what they do with abortion products.
How are the remains “cremated” and for what purpose?
Another question that people avoid is the selling of baby parts to labs, research facilities, and manufacturers.
Yes, it does happen.
While it is illegal to sell human body parts, there are slick ways around the law. Procurement people rent space from the clinics, which donate the baby tissue to them. Then, they deliver whatever is requested by research labs, universities, or manufacturers.
There are specific requests by age, organ type, and sex and a price for each but the price isn’t for the body part — it’s called a retrieval fee — a glorified delivery service.
It’s a grisly side of modern life, but when you see the list of products and procedures that use human tissue in their manufacturing process, you might reconsider your opinion of abortion.
Then again, you might not, but that doesn’t change the fact that babies are dying every day and we hide the realities of their deaths.
