“Playing Wishbone” With Babies . . . Training Seminars Show How To Expose, End Abortion Industry

By DEXTER DUGGAN

Monthly training seminars are under way on how “to gather the information . . . that is necessary” to shut down not only Planned Parenthood but also the entire abortion industry, a national pro-life leader told The Wanderer.

The seminars are at activist Life Dynamics, headquartered in Denton, Texas, conducted by the organization’s president, Mark Crutcher, said Fr. Frank Pavone, national director of the New York-based Priests for Life. Crutcher pioneered investigating the harvesting of aborted babies’ organs in the 1990s.

Unlike the Center for Medical Progress’ powerful videos that began to be revealed last summer only after undercover filming of abortion officials was completed, the Texas training seminars on gathering intelligence were openly announced before they started in February. However, participants are screened.

“We’re working very closely with Mark,” Pavone said during a half-hour interview. “He devised this training.”

All the information needed to end the abortion industry “is contained within the industry….You expose it, you use it to eventually shut down the abortion industry,” Pavone said during a March 14 telephone interview.

Pavone gave an example of abortion workers “playing wishbone” with babies’ bodies — pulling them apart like a turkey’s bones as a way to psychologically distance themselves from what they do by further dehumanizing the babies.

The abortion industry has failed, and always will fail, to remove the stigma from what it does, Pavone said. “They just can’t do it. They never will be able to do it.”

Some of the information obtained can be released to the public to educate people, while other information can be turned over confidentially to law-enforcement officials, he said.

Pavone publicly announced the training outside a Planned Parenthood abortuary under construction in Washington, D.C., on January 21, just before the national March for Life. The abortionist website “RH Reality Check” reported this the following day.

The website’s reader feedback elicited growls like, “Anti-choicers are not intelligent enough to put together a legitimate argument, so they have to break laws like the terrorism enablers that they are,” and, “Rats from a sinking ship. They are going to get drowned by the politicians and higher-ups of their illegal terroristic groups.”

It’s always remarkable to read the moral arrogance and posturing of pushers of permissive abortion that slaughters more than a million infants a year in the U.S. but who are ashamed to have the facts brought before the public.

Pavone had been interviewed by The Wanderer about initial information on the upcoming training when he attended the Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco on January 23.

Intelligence-gathering by trained pro-lifers won’t involve their being hired by abortionists because that would make the pro-lifers “complicit” in the work, Pavone said during the March 14 interview. “There are ways in which this kind of infiltration” is performed. “The intelligence gathering can take a lot of different forms.”

He gave examples of contacting people who are vendors to abortion clinics, sending people in posing as abortion clients, or developing relationships with people who work there.

Not everyone employed at a clinic is an ideologically committed abortionist, he said; sometimes “they’re just looking for a job” and end up there.

There’s also a goal of converting and healing workers from that industry, he said.

The abortion industry won’t be able to assume it has nothing to worry about with those on its payroll, Pavone said. Clinics “will never know when an employee of theirs . . . may end up being an informant” or “an outright spy.”

Intelligence gathering may even take the form of someone calling the clinic and asking a few questions, he said.

“We’re not talking here about fishing expeditions” to try to find information, Pavone said later in the interview. “We’re talking about a targeted effort of, we know what we’re looking for.”

He gave an example of an abortionist having gone to federal prison for tax evasion.

Clinic workers should be aware “they’re vulnerable” for potential lawbreaking, Pavone said, giving the example that not only Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell was convicted of killing babies but also members of his staff.

The Life Dynamics website (lifedynamics.com) has a link to Clinicworker.com, which includes photos of eight of Gosnell’s convicted staff.

The pro-life intelligence gathering also could discourage people from working at the clinics, which already have a high turnover problem with staff and doctors, Pavone said.

In 1992 there were 2,126 free-standing abortion clinics, he said, but only 560 free-standing clinics today.

Alluding to the advent of social media, Pavone added that media access is much improved today, when pro-lifers don’t have to pass through media censors to get their news out. In the late 1990s, “it was so difficult . . . to get real, extensive media coverage . . . and extremely hard to get congressional action. . . . But today they are a little bit different.”

Asked if pro-abortionists could turn the tables and infiltrate pro-life activities, Pavone replied that pro-lifers “are in no way exposed or vulnerable” in the same way.

Although everyone has faults and frailties, he said, pro-lifers aren’t part of the “ring of violence and corrupt activity” that abortion workers are.

“We sometimes joke about” being infiltrated at pro-life events, Pavone said. “‘Welcome to all the Planned Parenthood spies’.”

Sometimes informants’ work can act as a pointer to further developments, he said. “Any information is valuable and is important,” and can yield more.

The first training seminar at Life Dynamics in February was for pro-lifers in leadership positions, Pavone said, with one seminar per month continuing at least until the end of the year.
