WASHINGTON, D.C. — Kamala Harris’ image is so bad that a radical pro-abortion group is planning on spending “tens of millions” of dollars to revive it.
Most Americans think very little of Harris – often associating her with her infamous cackle, descriptions of Venn diagrams, and word salads. And for millions of pro-life Americans, Harris has become the abortion cheerleader. She’s headlined dozens of events as vice president promoting abortions up to birth.
No amount of money will change those perceptions of her, but EMILY’s List is going to try. Here’s more on its desperate campaign to change her public perception:
EMILY’s List, a political organization that advances female candidates who support abortion rights, said it will spend “tens of millions of dollars” to aid Harris and her favorability in the 2024 presidential election. The group said it is still determining the specifics of the investment.
“We’re going to tell the story about who she is, what she’s done, support her at every turn and really push back against the massive misinformation and disinformation that’s been directed towards her since she’s been elected,” said Laphonza Butler, the president of EMILY’s List, adding the group needs to “remind” voters of Harris but not redefine her.
The latest polling averages show Harris with 36 percent approval and 56 percent disapproval.
Politico reported: “Such an investment in support of a sitting vice president is politically unprecedented. And it reflects the lack of broader efforts that have been made to date to help bolster the vice president amid persistently low approval ratings.”
“She is a boogeyman that Republicans can [and will] use when it comes to pushing their message,” a senior Republican strategist said, speaking anonymously to discuss election season strategy frankly. “A President Harris would be even worse than a President Biden because she campaigned as a progressive fighter and had to moderate herself when she became Biden’s running mate. And to be completely frank, she’s smart. She’s an accomplished prosecutor. She was a United States senator. And she does have the resume to match.”
There’s really no way to rehabilitate Harris’ recent comments on abortion, where she championed the goal of legalizing killing babies in the womb for any reason up to birth using God’s name.
This past week, Teen Vogue published an interview with Harris and Planned Parenthood abortionist Colleen McNicholas at the White House where they discussed efforts to make abortion on demand legal again in all 50 states.
Reflecting on the upcoming anniversary of the Dobbs v. Jackson ruling, Harris invoked God’s name to claim that legalizing abortion on demand is a just and moral cause.
“It’s a shame that in this year of our Lord 2023, people are trying to take us back,” she said. “… It’s causing a lot of folks to really reconsider that we have to be vigilant and understand all the ramifications of this and have a federal law that protects reproductive care in all 50 states.”
Abortions occur post-reproduction and killing unborn babies is not health care, but the law that she and President Joe Biden are urging Congress to pass would force states to legalize abortion on demand again.
Nicknamed the Abortion Without Limits Up to Birth Act by pro-life leaders, the so-called Women’s Health Protection Act would force states to legalize abortions for basically any reason up to birth, end bans on sex-selection and taxpayer-funded abortions, and jeopardize laws requiring parental consent for minors, informed consent and conscience protections for pro-life medical professionals.
