’Twas The Morning Of Christmas

By DONALD DeMARCO

’Twas the morning of Christmas

And all through the land

A stillness presided,

Both glorious and grand.

The whole world was expecting

A birth from above,

An emissary of good will and brotherly love.

Time stopped for a moment

To make way for eternity,

Made possible by Mary’s blessed maternity.

After two millennia we continue to sing

Of the very first Christmas

And the birth of a King.
