When Trump Talks, People Should Listen

By REY FLORES

How many of you recall the old E.F. Hutton television commercials where everyone on an airplane would stop and listen to one man when he says, “My broker is E.F. Hutton, and E.F. Hutton says….” The voiceover would then state: “When E.F. Hutton talks, people listen.”

Donald Trump can do the same as E.F. Hutton, because when The Donald talks, people do listen. In addition to having authored several books, built a properties and real estate empire, and become a cultural celebrity, he now wants to become our next president. I say more power to him.

Most recently Trump ruffled the feathers of the liberals and the equally liberal mainstream media who raked him over the coals when he stated that many of the illegal immigrants coming from Mexico were rapists and murderers.

While Trump is somewhat correct in saying what he did, those descriptions do not apply to all the immigrants, but to a very few who have come here not to build an American dream, but to create an American nightmare for a few poor souls.

My point is that Trump is not afraid to point out the obvious. Our immigration system isn’t just broken, it is being deliberately abused, exploited, and misused by the Obama administration which has opened the floodgates for every Tom, Dick, and Harry and José and Muhammad to come into this country.

Say what you will about Trump and his hair or whatever you want to say, this guy is a business titan, an entertaining media personality, and a billionaire to boot.

I’m not saying that money is the only way to measure a man’s success, and Trump has been through a number of personal difficulties. But I certainly won’t throw stones in his direction when I’ve got plenty of faults I need to work on, so let’s keep a focus on Trump’s positive aspects, mainly his proven and solid business sense.

I know what many of you are thinking and I feel the same way about politics. Having the presidential election coming in 2016 is like watching the circus come to town. There are plenty of thrills, spills, and chills, but especially a bunch of clowns who aren’t even funny.

Like the last couple of times when Obama was crowned King of the USA — it was a real bitter pill to swallow for many of us to vote for political losers like John McCain and Mitt Romney as the only alternative to Obama.

Why Trump? One word: Hillary.

As I have said many times before when it comes to politics, unless Jesus or any of His twelve apostles are running for president, we have to take what we can get for now, and in my humble opinion, I see Trump, Scott Walker, Ted Cruz, and Carly Fiorina as some of our better choices, in that order. Any combination of any of them works for me too.

I understand that none of these folks are Catholic and that all of them are not 100 percent pro-life, but we’ve got some time to work on them. The important thing is that we need to quit playing footsie with the entire bunch of presidential hopefuls, narrow it down as soon as we can to a select few, and then put all of our support behind them.

For now, among the list I shared, Trump is the most viable candidate for several reasons. He’s ticking the left off with everything he says, and The New York Times hates him, so that in itself makes me like him even more. Unless it’s just an act, anything that rattles the left is OK by me.

Given the current state of our economy, the disarming and emasculation of America’s military, the skyrocketing unemployment rates, the Islamization and homosexualization of our country and the war against Christians, we really need to take back the political reins and a cowboy like Trump may just be the guy to help get us back on track.

Trump declared himself to be pro-life at a 2011 CPAC conference, but we all need to make sure he’s not just giving us lip service as most politicians usually do.

Again, unless the angels and saints come to run for political office, we have to work with what we have, and I mean diligently, or pretty soon we won’t have anything or any country to work with any more.

Come Holy Spirit!
