A Bishop For The Times . . .

The Wanderer would like to express its wholehearted support both in prayers and public expression for the good Bishop of Tyler, Texas, Bishop Strickland, for his outspoken and unabashed witness to the Catholic faith, especially in light of the recent events at Dodger stadium. Bishop Strickland has demonstrated the courage and the leadership we need from our shepherds to confront these demonic assaults against the Truth in our society and our churches today.

Yes, and by all appearances the powers in the Vatican would seem to lend absolutely no support, at least as of this writing, for the Bishop of Tyler. At the very least the Vatican visit by the two Bishops smells of the typical shakedown given to any Bishop or member of the clergy who courageously dares to proclaims the Truth of the Catholic faith in the public square.

As we went to press this week there were many rumors as to the substance of the meeting with Strickland from the Vatican officials, which varied from a lack of priestly vocations in the diocese to financial mishandling, to administration issues – all of which are totally false based on the impeccable record of the Bishop in these matters. Because of the usual lack of clarity coming from the Pope Francis Vatican, I think it is safe to speculate that prelates who are publicly outspoken about the truth – especially the ones who do not toe the current political narrative on climate change and immigration are not welcome by the Vatican hierarchy in this new age of accompaniment – one would guess that message was relayed in some form or another to Bishop Strickland. If the intent was to curtail the Bishop’s profuse public defense of Christ’s Teachings with the Vatican “sit-down” – by all appearances, the opposite effect might have occurred. God bless Bishop Strickland because he certainly has not been silenced or deterred from his outspokenness for the Faith, evidenced in his various tweets after the meeting took place.

Below is a sampling of some of the tweets by the bishop which appeared on his Twitter page in the days following his meeting.

Stand with Bishop Strickland – he is an example of the type of leadership and courage required to confront the evil that is consuming our society and our churches in this diabolic “woke” age we live in. Our churches are the last stand against this pervasiveness of evil – Imagine what a counterforce against this wave of evil would be if all the leadership in our Church would stand with Bishop Strickland. We urge our readership to pray for him and send him words of support.
