On July 16, 2019, Dr. Leana Wen, president of Planned Parenthood, was fired from her position by what she called a “secret meeting” of the organization’s Board of Directors.
The group’s public explanation focused on her inadequate management skills.
Wen replied that she left due to “philosophical differences over the direction and future of Planned Parenthood.” The organization wanted to prioritize abortion care while she wanted to advocate for a “broad range of public health policies,” she said.
Ho-hum? Maybe not. Because just eleven days before being fired, Wen had written an op-ed for The Washington Post in which she disclosed that she had recently suffered a miscarriage that was “devastating in a way that I couldn’t have anticipated.”
And now, two years later, in a book that is Amazon’s “#1 New Release in Health Care,” Wen tells the rest of the story.
After her miscarriage, Wen shared her pain with a colleague at work. The word eventually reached Planned Parenthood’s Board of Directors. They had already decided that she was out, and their lawyers were talking to her lawyers about how she could go quietly.
All that changed when the Board learned the news about her miscarriage, Wen says that they now wanted to allege that her departure was connected with, or even motivated by, her loss.
That’s when she wrote the op-ed — “so as not to have this deeply personal experience stolen from me. . . . I could not fathom the additional trauma if this news were made public by others who wished to use it for their own purposes,” she now writes.
And those “others”? They were unforgiving. Wen and her husband had been hoping to have a third child, and her loss was profound. Even worse, her genuine expression of grief in losing her baby caused some diehard abortion fanatics to accuse her of “stigmatizing” abortion. “Why did she write about it at all,” they asked, since her powerful testimony confirming the pain of the loss of her baby might have unintended consequences.
Like what?
Women contemplating abortion might think twice, having seen a role model like Wen admit the heartbreak of the very loss they were about to experience. Women who had suffered at the hands of an abortionist might become less callous and more inclined to remorse.
And the diehards? Burning mad — not in regret for their own murderous roles but resenting Wen’s honesty, and the role it might play in making them look like the grim reapers that they are.
Worst of all, everybody in the pro-abortion movement would have real reason to pause because this woman whom they all admired had revealed a forbidden truth. Instead of advocating abortion, they might start supporting crisis pregnancy centers.

“The Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued a new National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin regarding the current heightened threat environment across the United States,” according to a PR release from the agency.
And what “threat environment” confronts the “Homeland”?
“The 20th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks as well religious holidays we assess could serve as a catalyst for acts of targeted violence,” the Bulletin continues.
Now that makes sense, given the largely unreported acts of violence in recent years perpetrated in the U.S. by Muslim extremists whose identities and affiliations the media struggled to conceal.
But such devout evildoers are not the sole target of DHS’s massive manhunt. The more numerous, and more dangerous, “domestic terrorists” that the Bidenized agency seeks to identify and disrupt are “individuals and groups engaged in grievance-based violence.”
On first reading, one surmises that such a campaign would be directed at the minority neighborhoods in Democrat-controlled cities throughout the country. As Thomas Sowell explains in painful detail, those communities have been intentionally kept in a perpetual state of grievance by the perpetrators and perpetuators of the Welfare State.
So it’s no surprise, after the (again, scarcely reported) riots of the summer of 2020, that DHS and the FBI will be examining the Communist-inspired Black Lives Matter (BLM) groups that wrought more than a billion dollars-worth of damage to minority neighborhoods nationwide, while their Marxist leaders cashed in and bought million-dollar homes — even several of them — with “donations” and shakedown-inspired funds that have never been audited and never will be.
But once more we find that DHS is looking elsewhere for the criminals-in-waiting.
They’re looking for “actors are increasingly exploiting online forums to influence and spread violent extremist narratives and promote violent activity. Such threats are also exacerbated by impacts of the ongoing global pandemic, including grievances over public health safety measures and perceived government restrictions.”

We bear in mind that the Left has always identified as “extremists” any and all who oppose their ideology, and, as the revolution rolls on, those Leftists whom they consider their most dangerous competition to lead the Revolution. Vladimir Lenin insisted that only the “really revolutionary” Marxists deserved to attain and preserve the power inherent in that leadership.
But it’s not the Marxists they’re after. Today, Biden’s “extremists” comprise Trump supporters, devout Christians, and critics of the Democrat lockdowns. These mandates seek to expand the control mechanisms that restrict the freedom of the population. The Biden Administration is already “considering” such measures as vaccination passports, universal mask mandates, prohibitions on travel (including the freedom to cross state lines), and countless similar Diktats designed to suppress its political opponents.
Meanwhile crime in Democrat cities has soared as “Defund the Police” initiatives are put into practice. From New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C., on the East Coast to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Portland in the West, murders, shootings, pillaging, and mayhem have reached historic levels.
But not to worry. In New York City, Asians and Jews are under savage attack by “youth,” and crime has soared 38 percent over this date last year. But Mayor Bill de Blasio has everything under control.
For instance, New York’s finest have declared that women who unleash their dogs in parks (largely empty due to fear of crime) will be arrested and charged.
Why, one wonders?
Because they don’t shoot back.

The events of recent days will go down in history. We will be addressing them in coming weeks, but today some observations as we crawl out of the rubble. It might be a good idea to keep an informal diary, because the lapdog media will try to shove it all down the Memory Hole.
In fact, they already are. Of course, the point is not to report the truth in the first place, if possible; if it is reported, pretend not to notice; and if it is noticed, to forget it quickly. That is the dialectic of the Left as they change reality and truth every day.
Power, period. That’s what it’s all about.

Joe Biden is finished, but America is not.
The number of home-schoolers across the country has doubled in the past two years.
And all is not lost. The political, intelligence, military, and foreign policy disasters of recent days were disastrous, but all involved were experts in Critical Race Theory, Domestic Terrorism Prevention, & Equity 201.
Now that the Taliban is the official government of Afghanistan, they will need representation in the United States — registered lobbyists and foreign agents. They are awash in cash and supplies that our government left behind, so money is no problem.
We can rest assured that the usual suspects are already fighting for a place at the trough.
In June, the U.S. Embassy in Kabul celebrated “Pride Month” honoring LGBTQ persons in Afghanistan.
Now they will all be killed.
Finally, and most comforting, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has promised that the new government will honor women’s rights — as interpreted by Islamic law, of course.
