An Address For The Ages… President Trump’s SOTU Lets Our Voices Be Heard

By REY FLORES

As I was watching the State of the Union address being so powerfully delivered by U.S. President Donald J. Trump, I thought to myself that he is a kind of Moses for our times.

What he said — and how he said it — was exactly what the petulant, prideful, and arrogant socialist Democrats needed to hear. The president delivered his America First message to these rude and obnoxious Democrats with the swiftness of a father’s hand to his child’s rear end when the child misbehaves.

Before the start of his speech, news media cameras were broadcasting the interactions of all parties present. There were a lot of smiles as the Capitol was filled with an electricity of something great that was about to happen. It was amusing to watch how Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was holding on to the speaker’s gavel like Thor clenching his beloved Mjölnir.

The cameras also showed the pouting, frowning, and downright contempt of the Democrats present, with many of the women on that side of the aisle dressed in white — not unlike like the brown shirts in World War II Germany. White seems somehow inappropriate for these abortion promoters.

First Lady Melania Trump looked more beautiful than any other first lady before her. She radiates a good, caring soul. As I looked at her face, it left me wondering what exactly is going on in her mind, given the hostility the left and the fake news media have demonstrated toward her and her husband and their family.

When it was time to introduce the Supreme Court justices, it was great to see Justice Brett Kavanaugh walk in there with a great big smile. One station panned in on Kamala Harris, who looked like someone just fed her a sour lemon.

As the president’s cabinet was introduced, I was particularly glad to see Homeland Security chief Kirstjen Nielsen, who has taken much abuse from the left regarding our southern border. Nielsen appeared very emotional at one point as the president addressed the numbers of Americans who have suffered at the hands of dangerous illegals who are proof that what we have at the border is indeed a national emergency.

As the president was introduced, there was thunderous applause that lasted a few minutes. There he was, the leader of the free world. Thank God it was Donald Trump and not Hillary Clinton there! It was also very satisfying to know that we will never see Barack Obama in that position again.

As the president began to deliver his speech, he introduced a group of World War II veterans and Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin. He then proceeded to talk about America’s strength, prosperity, and leadership.

President Trump stated with absolute clarity that every elected official present needs to get away from “the politics of revenge and resistance,” and then added, “I ask you to choose greatness.” As people applauded, the cameras zoomed in on freshman members of Congress Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, whose expressions were of spite and bitterness. Cory Booker and self-proclaimed socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez didn’t look too happy, either.

Trump went on to extol America’s exceptionalism as the number-one producer of oil and natural gas, adding that we have the world’s most powerful military and that our economy is the envy of the world. Chants of “USA! USA! USA!” filled the room. Trump smiled and said, “That sounds so good.”

It really did sound so good, not just the USA chants, but the entire speech. What especially sounded great was when Trump referred to “ridiculous partisan investigations” and “school choice,” but nothing was greater than when he addressed the stench of socialism present in the room.

“Here, in the United States, we are alarmed by new calls to adopt socialism in our country. America was founded on liberty and independence — not government coercion, domination, and control. We are born free, and we will stay free….Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country.”

Trump brought the house down. The chants of “USA! USA! USA!” became louder than before. As the rest of the place cheered, the white pantsuit army of pro-abortion Democrats sat there motionless in defeat, glaring at the president. Then there was the disheveled and defeated Bernie Sanders looking like one of those old grumpy men from the Muppet Show.

If we thought Trump hit a home run there, he hit a grand slam when he addressed the recent extreme abortion law recently passed in New York.

“Lawmakers in New York cheered with delight upon the passage of legislation that would allow a baby to be ripped from the mother’s womb moments before birth. These are living, feeling, beautiful babies who will never get the chance to share their love and dreams with the world.”

“Let us work together to build a culture that cherishes innocent life,” said the president. “And let us reaffirm a fundamental truth: All children — born and unborn — are made in the holy image of God.”

Wow.

We have witnessed one of America’s greatest moments. The 2019 State of the Union address cemented a second term for President Trump. We must not, however, take it for granted. Remember that it takes a nation of patriots, not just one great leader.

We Christian and patriotic Americans who have been slandered, ridiculed, minimized, and at times physically attacked by the lunatic left have finally had our voices heard once more. Louder than ever.
