As Coronavirus Spreads Death… Bad Catholic Pelosi’s Dems Want More Death With Abort Funding

By DEXTER DUGGAN

As the RMS Titanic sank amid icebergs in the North Atlantic Ocean in 1912, the ship’s captain ran along the slanting decks, trying to push more helpless passengers into the frigid waves.

That didn’t actually happen. Such an event makes no more sense than U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California and her Democratic allies trying to cause more deaths as the coronavirus sprang up in the U.S. However, Pelosi’s skullduggery actually did happen.

No matter what occurs in the legislative halls of Washington, D.C., the officially abortion-obsessed Democratic Party is always trying to get more permissive abortion injected in to classic political sausage-making.

Meanwhile, President Trump and Republican leaders said they would have none of the Dems’ push for more baby deaths.

Would the coronavirus claim tens of thousands of lives in the U.S.? Hundreds of thousands? Millions? Permissive abortion in the U.S. since Roe v. Wade in 1973 had destroyed tens of millions of babies’ lives, and the Democratic Party officially couldn’t be more pleased over all those victims.

The National Review site reported on March 13 about efforts to craft emergency coronavirus legislation:

“Pelosi attempted to secure a funding stream of up to $1 billion for reimbursing laboratory claims. According to White House officials who spoke with the Daily Caller, that provision would establish a precedent under which health claims for all procedures, including abortion, could be reimbursed with federal funds.

“That precedent would render the Hyde Amendment, which blocks taxpayer funding for abortion clinics, obsolete,” the article added.

The conservative Daily Caller reported on March 12: “‘A new mandatory funding stream that does not have Hyde protections would be unprecedented,’ one White House official explained. ‘Under the guise of protecting people, Speaker Pelosi is working to make sure taxpayer dollars are spent covering abortion — which is not only backwards, but goes against historical norms’.”

National Review said pro-life conservative Sen. Ben Sasse (R., Neb.) told it in a statement: “While schools are closing and hospitals are gearing up, Speaker Pelosi is waging unnecessary culture wars. Speaker Pelosi should be fighting the coronavirus pandemic, not politicizing emergency funding by fighting against the bipartisan Hyde Amendment.

“We need to be ramping up our diagnostic testing, not waging culture wars at the behest of Planned Parenthood. Good grief,” Sasse was quoted.

The Hill political site reported on March 14 that Pelosi “and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin engaged in intense negotiations to accommodate GOP concerns, such as the cost of paid sick leave on businesses and ensuring that no taxpayer funds can be used for abortion.”

Shortly thereafter, LifeSiteNews

.com reported on March 16: “Pro-life Americans are breathing a sigh of relief after an attempt by Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to weaken restrictions on federal abortion funding within emergency legislation to combat the coronavirus….

“President Donald Trump said he could not sign the bill as long as there were ‘things in there that have nothing to do with things we are talking about,’ such as abortion,” LifeSiteNews.com added.

On March 13, Tony Perkins, president of the conservative, Washington-based Family Research Council, posted at the FRC site: “Congress’ coronavirus bill was supposed to be about saving lives — not taking them! But tell that to Speaker Nancy Pelosi . . . , who doesn’t seem to mind exploiting a global tragedy to help out her pals at Planned Parenthood.

“Turns out, while Democrats are bashing the president for not working fast enough, they’re bogging down the debate with secret language on abortion,” he said.

Perkins added: “The revelations shouldn’t have caught anyone by surprise, but when a White House official broke the news that Pelosi tried to bury taxpayer-funded abortion in the stimulus bill, even MSNBC was stunned. Openly liberal host Joy Reid didn’t hold back her amazement.”

Yet some fans of the Democratic Party would say it’s better for Catholic prelates and those in Catholic pews to vote for the donkey party and its pro-abortion extremism because it’s morally superior.

On Sunday, March 15, the weekend just before St. Patrick’s Day, the two remaining major Democratic candidates for the presidency, Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, debated, among other topics, which of them was more radically pro-abortion, which they considered a major honor.

Afraid as usual to use truthful words about his support for massive abortion, the very bad Catholic Joe Biden hid behind euphemism.

Biden said, according to the transcript: “I would send immediately to the desk of the United States Congress, when I’m elected president, if I’m elected President, a codification of Roe v. Wade amended by Casey because I think it is a woman’s right to choose. I think it’s a woman’s opportunity to be able to make that decision. And, in fact, I’ve gotten a 100 percent rating from NARAL as well.”

Sanders jumped in, asking, according to the transcript, whether Biden was claiming to have a 100 percent lifetime rating from the NARAL abortion group.

“I know my record of late from NARAL has been 100 percent,” Biden replied. “I don’t know whether it was 25 years ago.”

Sanders said, according to the transcript, “Well, all right. I mean, I think one of the differences, not to pick a bone here, is I have been consistent. I’ve always believed in that and you have not. I’m glad you’ve changed your view.”

LifeNews.com reported on March 16: “Biden has a long pro-abortion record and has repeatedly asserted during the presidential race that Americans should be required to fund killing babies in abortions. During last night’s presidential debate, Biden made it clear he thinks killing unborn babies in abortions is health care and that tax money should be used to fund abortions for women who can’t afford to end their baby’s life.

“Biden formerly supported the Hyde Amendment, which has stopped taxpayer funding of abortions since the late 1970s,” LifeNews.com said, “but he has since shifted his position to be totally and completely pro-abortion in all public-policy instances.”

Former Trump White House press secretary Sarah Sanders told Fox News: “Anybody who has been listening to his policy positions knows he is extremely liberal and would make an even more dangerous and terrible president. Let’s not forget that he has moved so far to the left; Joe Biden is no moderate.”

Sanders added that Biden supports free health care for illegal aliens, wants to eliminate fracking, supports the job-destroying Green New Deal, and fights against the Second Amendment.

As results from the March 17 state primaries came in, the elderly Biden, who gives indications of suffering from dementia, was said to be the presumed Democratic presidential nominee after he easily beat Sanders in Florida, Illinois, and Arizona.

History professor Justin P. Coffey warned at the Washington Examiner site on March 18 that the media cover-up for seriously impaired Democratic President Franklin D. Roosevelt, their preferred candidate, in the 1944 presidential campaign is being repeated for Biden.

“Biden’s public appearances repeatedly provide evidence of cognitive decline,” Coffey wrote. “He is easily confused, he stumbles over his words, and at times he seems not to even know where he is. Now that Biden will almost certainly be the Democratic nominee, questions about his health should be front and center.

“But instead,” Coffey added, “the liberal media is circling the wagons and trying to create a narrative that it is immoral or conspiracy-mongering even to raise the issue.”

With the results in the Third Congressional District in Illinois, the Democratic Party continued to purge itself of its few remaining pro-lifers in Congress.

The Hill political site reported early on March 18 that a pro-abortion Democrat narrowly defeated eight-term pro-life Illinois Cong. Dan Lipinski, after Lipinski narrowly defeated her in 2018.

A few decades ago, pro-life Democrats were common in the U.S. House, but pro-abortion Democrats have purged them over the years — although some Catholic bureaucrats and their followers don’t seem to think this staggering toward death matters.

Beyond Despicable

The Wanderer asked four sources for their reaction to the Pelosi Democrats trying, although failing, to push abortion in the coronavirus bill.

Northern California conservative commentator Barbara Simpson, who’s close to Pelosi’s San Francisco stomping grounds, said: “It’s really disgusting to see how the politics of abortion takes precedence over everything to devout liberals like Nancy Pelosi.

“Faced with the real challenge of dealing with the coronavirus and coming up with a financial plan to fight the virus, Pelosi managed to stall the congressional vote by insisting on inserting a billion in abortion spending in the measure,” Simpson said.

“There was sharp disagreement over the delay but, finally, a vote was taken,” she said. “It’s a sad reflection that someone who claims to be so moral and so Catholic is such a diehard supporter of the right of women to murder their own children. But that’s Nancy.”

National conservative commentator Quin Hillyer said: “Congressional Democrats seem obsessed with forcing all of us to pay for other people’s abortions, even at the cost of holding up response to a pandemic. Their behavior is shameful, and indeed inexcusable.”

Victor Joecks, an opinion writer at the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Nevada’s largest news site, said: “The politicization of the coronavirus-relief bill is beyond despicable. Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s efforts to sneak an expansion of government-funded abortion into the bill is politics at its worst, and she should be ashamed of herself.”

Arizona conservative Republican political consultant Constantin Querard said: “Today’s elected Democrats, particularly in Washington, D.C., largely serve their masters in the abortion industry. So it is ugly, but not a surprise, to see Nancy Pelosi and congressional Democrats try to use the crisis to advance their abortion agenda.”
