As Others Chafe Under Marxism . . . Leftists Yearn To Inject It Into U.S., Including For Health Care

July 22, 2021 Frontpage No Comments

By DEXTER DUGGAN

Bunting beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
In Hong Kong’s freedom protests now suppressed by the Communist Party, many American flags were held high as the symbol of the liberty and ideals that Chinese longed for.
And in the new burst of Cuban opposition to that island’s Communist oppressors, U.S. flags also have emerged as the banner that repudiates three generations of political thuggery. Despite their Stalinist rule beginning in 1959, Havana’s Communist bosses failed to breed a new Marxist everyday man to willingly take their revolution forward.
These are truly oppressed masses who raise their eyes to the U.S., not to Mao Zedong’s tomb in Beijing or Lenin’s in Moscow.
However, to U.S. leftists, the American flag is a despicable symbol of racism, slavery, and oppression that needs to be burned or spat or stomped on. They think in that way all the time. They did plenty of that in 2020s nationwide riots while Democrat Party leaders averted their eyes and Joe Biden hid.
Those already under Marxist rule hope to cast it off. The left-wing radicals living in the U.S. hope to bring this nation under its heel — while exempting themselves, of course, from its rigors. Socialism-loving politicians here tend to have fancy multiple homes that they’re not about to abandon for a new street-level existence in some totalitarian prison-land.
At least, social media had let us see riveting Hong Kong protests until Beijing’s iron fist clamped tighter. And videos today from the streets of restive Havana give a view far surpassing what I was able to see decades ago in the grainy old Cuban Communist newspaper titled Granma that was shipped into the U.S. Uploading cellphone videos? Who could have imagined that in the 1960s?
Oh, Granma is still around, but today has its own slick propaganda website (en.granma.cu). Early on July 14, the site’s top story was about a “Political Bureau meeting” where “(p)rovocations orchestrated by counterrevolutionary elements, organized and financed by the United States to destabilize our country, were analyzed.”
The technological capability has far advanced, but the political claptrap remains the same.
U.S. pro-lifers have plenty of reasons to be dubious of the reigning political establishment headquartered in Washington, D.C., and New York, whose official culture for some time has been death and depravity, and now is being steered to outright Marxism.
However, the Founders’ ideals for this nation have been subverted and poisoned, not fulfilled, by a corporatist, political and media oligarchy now revealing itself more than ever.
U.S. conservatives still salute the flag instead of reviling it, even though that flag has flown for nearly a half-century over a country where the elite declare that massive baby-slaughter is the nation’s most precious freedom. The Supreme Court that imposed this terror overnight in 1973 is still terrified to admit its nightmare is an error, no matter how many Catholics become justices.
Today massive abortion is only one element of the left’s agenda of depravity. Putting everyone’s medical care under direct government control — the very power of life and death over us all — is more than a faint dream to the thugs Biden intentionally assembled to help run his freak show, including California pro-abortion fanatics Kamala Harris and Xavier Becerra.
The pandemic COVID virus that was cultivated in, and came from, Communist China has emboldened left-wingers to seek every opportunity to suppress the U.S. to suit themselves.
The coronavirus had to be taken seriously, but experience showed that its dangers turned out to be highly limited. Insisting on shutting down entire school systems, for instance, became insane, but closures let ambitious bureaucrats exercise tremendous power.
Many people had valid worries about unexplained deaths and damage to those who thought they were protecting themselves with injections of one of the COVID vaccines, yet intransigent bureaucrats acted as if the only reasons for vaccine reluctance were ignorance, fear of needles or bad information.
Cubans reject their awful, totally government-run medical care, but that’s what Biden’s radicals yearn to plunge us into. The Bidenites’ ideology favors, not opposes, the island’s Communist rulers’.
The Washington Examiner’s editor-in-chief, Hugo Gurdon, noted this Democrat attitude and wrote that “many Democrats are socialists themselves. Cubans know socialism brings repression and misery and is against nature. But a great portion of active Democrats, perhaps the majority and certainly the loudest segment of the party, share the ideology with the tyrants in Havana.
“Our homegrown socialists claim to stand with the downtrodden people of the world but fall silent when people downtrodden by leftists demand freedom,” Gurdon added.
On July 10 the Washington Examiner posted an editorial headlined, “The wretched Xavier Becerra wants to control your life.” It said Becerra, Biden’s secretary of Health and Human Services, took “a tough and nuanced debate” about vaccines and changed it to “simplistic, political and stupid.
“Becerra is, of course, unqualified for his Cabinet job,” the Examiner said. “We believe nearly everyone in the Biden administration understands this. He was appointed to serve as a cultural warrior — a lieutenant to the vice president and top culture cop, Kamala Harris. Becerra’s record as a lawmaker and as California’s attorney general was similar to Harris’s: He saw his job as prosecuting the people with ‘bad’ politics, notably pro-lifers and Catholic nuns.”

A Menace

National conservative commentator Quin Hillyer told The Wanderer on July 11, “Xavier Becerra is a hard-left culture warrior who wants government to control our lives for left-wing purposes. He is a menace who should be fired.”
After Biden typically put his foot in it by suggesting that government agents might literally have to go door-to-door to persuade the reluctant to get the jab, Becerra waded right in, going so far as to say that because the government had invested so much money in people, it was government’s responsibility to make that investment worthwhile.
The leftist philosophy perhaps neatly summed up: People belong to the government, who makes the decisions for them. Becerra went so far as to suggest that the government needs to make sure taxpayers’ money is used wisely. (What? For a change, government cares if it spends taxpayer dough well?)
Becerra told CNN’s Brianna Keilar: “Brianna, perhaps we should point out that the federal government has spent trillions of dollars to try to keep Americans alive during this pandemic. So, it is absolutely the government’s business. It is taxpayers’ business if we have to continue to spend money to try to keep people from contracting COVID and helping reopen the economy.
“And so it is our business to try to make sure Americans can prosper,” totalitarian Becerra said.
“Americans can freely associate. And knockin’ on a door has never been against the law. You don’t have to answer, but we hope you do. Because if you haven’t been vaccinated, we can help dispel some of those rumors that you’ve heard and hopefully get you vaccinated.”
Interviewer Keilar cited Planned Parenthood’s former president Leana Wen writing in The Washington Post, calling for “proof of vaccination” and “vaccine requirements.”
Becerra replied with more government paternalism toward the foolish citizenry, saying “we hope they choose to live. And we’re gonna make it possible for them to have a good life and, by the way, protect their family and loved ones at the same time.” Because of the number of those who died, more than 600,000 Americans, “the best choice is to get vaccinated,” he said.
How is Becerra so intent on ruling middle-class Americans’ lives when only recently he was attorney general of California, where he indulgently allowed the homeless and addicted around the Not So Golden State to roam and camp where they pleased, in dangerous to filthy conditions, and didn’t force them into healthier surroundings?

Political Temperatures

Conservative Republican political consultant Constantin Querard told The Wanderer on July 13: “Whether it is socialism or Communism or whatever -ism your liberal of choice is trying to get Americans to embrace, it will always end up as a massive government that consumes the nation’s resources and freedoms while dictating to its subjects how they must live their lives. Always.
“And as always, exceptions will be made for the ruling class who would never, ever, actually live their lives under the rules they propose for the rest of us,” Querard said.
“Becerra just said the quiet part out loud, but that will increasingly become the rule instead of the exception, because the far left is increasingly convinced that they are winning, and they are increasingly eager to spell out how they intend to fundamentally change our nation, if we do not stop them,” he said.
Mary Ann Kreitzer, who runs the Virginia-based Les Femmes — The Truth, blog, told The Wanderer on July 13: “Xavier Becerra is one more so-called Catholic who wants to control our lives. First it was the (Lyndon) Johnson administration driving fathers out of the home and giving oversight to ‘Daddy Uncle Sam.’ Now it’s the incompetent Biden administration giving another incompetent, a liberal lackey, control over our health decisions.
“Becerra wants ‘Doctor Uncle Sam’ to treat us all like children with himself playing doctor-in-chief. The only doctor he resembles is the abortionist who tears babies limb from limb and the gender quack who mutilates bodies so disordered individuals can pretend to be the opposite sex from their biology,” Kreitzer said.
“He’s hot to send his hordes of interrogators out to knock on your door pressuring you to get a shot that has already killed and injured tens of thousands,” she said. “That he said government spending on COVID makes it the ‘government’s business’ to interfere in our health decisions is chilling. Are there no limits to these tyrants’ aspirations?”
Nor is government alone in this paternalism, as if we’re incapable of rational thought. My energy company here in the mid-summer Arizona desert has taken to sending me an unsought weekly online “plan coach” informing me that I use more energy during the peak hours of 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. This just happens to include the hottest times of day.
If I could consume more energy at low-use, cooler 3 a.m., I’d do it. The energy company is trying to absolve itself for charging higher rates — which, these days, Biden does all he can to worsen. I keep it at 83 degrees, not wearing shirts around the house, but if it’s 110 outside, staying at 83 inside still means cooling down 27 degrees. To say nothing of political temperatures.

Last week, Kamala Harris became the first vice president in U.S. history to make a public visit to an abortion clinic. Though the Democratic party’s support for abortion is nothing new, Harris’ Planned Parenthood appearance does illustrate how that support has become a flagrant celebration of abortion as a public and personal good, essential to both “freedom” and to “healthcare.” At the appearance, Harris proclaimed,  It is only right and fair that people have access…Continue Reading
