Bad Pick By Biden . . . What Worse To Come From Harris Who Raids, Grills Christian Foes?

By DEXTER DUGGAN

The faction of Democrat-friendly Catholics in cassocks now faces a worse challenge. They’ve been saying it’s divisive or angry for parishioners to recognize the facts about the abyss between official Republican and Democratic Party stands on the fundamental life issues.

Trying to promote Dem Joe Biden as an acceptable presidential candidate despite his rejection of the fundamentals of the Catholic faith became even harder when Biden embraced an activist anti-Catholic as his running mate on August 11, the failed presidential hopeful and brass-knuckles ideology enforcer Kamala Harris.

Brass knuckles have a way of getting in the way of her hands when she’s trying to shove poison down society’s throat, but without the brass knuckles she couldn’t do it at all. How handy that her political career includes being a prosecutor. “And this time, it’s legal,” as gunslinger Doc Holliday said when flashing his Deputy Marshal badge in the 1993 Tombstone movie.

Even committed leftists may blanch at the flash of those knucks. How long before she uses them on more victims? As California attorney general and Planned Parenthood’s thug, Harris had her state agents raid the residence of pro-life investigative journalist David Daleiden in 2016, the year after the Center for Medical Progress began releasing damning videos of PP’s profitable traffic in aborted baby body parts.

Reuters news service reported, “Eleven agents seized four computers and hundreds of hours of video footage from Daleiden’s apartment in Huntington Beach . . . , said Charles LiMandri, a civil attorney for Daleiden in three cases in California.” How convenient when the AG gets to steal the evidence.

In January 2019, columnist and anti-Trumper Michael Gerson pointed to “how Democrats manage to scare the hell out of vast sections of the country.” He gave as one example U.S. Sen. Harris’ tough questioning about membership in the Knights of Columbus of a Catholic judicial nominee.

Then there was Harris raking Catholic Brett Kavanaugh over the coals during his Supreme Court nomination hearings the previous year. Washington Examiner conservative media writer Becket Adams posted on September 6, 2018: “Harris’ duplicitous and misleading grilling of the nominee serves as a reminder that she has a long history of being a sneaky, self-serving, anti-liberty law-enforcement official.”

Because Dems usually are so interested in sex abuse, except when people like huggy-wuggy Biden commit it, the question is left to others to ask: Who else’s hair has Biden sniffed?

“Catholic” Joe? Squinty Biden says he only loves the Church, but most two-timers wink and say so while keeping some illicit relationship going, too.

After Dem-witted Biden had taken credit for persuading President Obama to favor “same-sex marriage,” Biden jumped in to personally officiate at one back in 2016. Both acts directly violated fundamental Christian belief. Has he ever publicly repented of this defiance — at all? Please tell us.

That’s part of the Democratic platform — just as is the stand for massive, tax-funded permissive abortion, which Biden definitely supports. Biden recently told us that as president, he’d return to having the government mercilessly hound the Little Sisters of the Poor to pay for abortion and birth control, despite their years-long legal battle against that Obama mandate.

Is this a man who’s friendly to the faith, or only a fella who knows he can get away with enormities as long as he kicks around the right victims?

No wonder Biden joined up with presidential loser Harris.

As a man who well might not even finish one four-year presidential term, much less two, Biden must have people asking why he runs. Vanity? Showing that he finally made it after two losing presidential efforts? The first of which crashed after his plagiarism was revealed. Which today looks less of an offense than dementia.

Or is he engaged in score-settling? As an admitted transitional president, if he wins, Biden explicitly knows he’d be turning the reins over to grim abortion fanatics out to crush pro-lifers, including those in his supposedly beloved Catholic Church. Might Biden actually fancy that when he reaches the Judgment Seat, God will just pull him up an easy chair so they can relax and tell jokes to each other forever?

Biden and Harris perfectly fit the secularist mold of animosity to traditional religious values that imbues the national Democratic Party. They’re afraid to say so boldly now because they know that loses votes among the general electorate. But are they running to lead the entire nation, or just to be the chief priests of Democrats?

If the latter is the case, there’s no need to win the White House. Just give Biden and Harris lifetime stalls at Democratic National Committee headquarters where they can preach to their choir whose hymnals’ sheets just have profane sour notes. The pages are environmentally sensitive recycled paper from editions of The New York Times.

Why look, the recycling process half-failed; lots of the hymnal pages’ words are the same as they’d been in Times editorials.

Biden and Harris in coming weeks play a huckster’s shell game with the general electorate. Dominant-media accomplices will cooperate gleefully. And Biden mustn’t kid himself about who’s the real power on this ticket.

The morning after Biden announced his veep selection, it was only Harris occupying the entire top half of the front page of the broadsheet Times. The deep three-column-wide photo was of only her, not the two of them. The accompanying three articles’ headlines focused on her.

Joe already is yesterday’s news, the Catholic who transitioned away from actually believing his religion, handing off the baton to a radical runner more than ready to pummel believers with it, then with something leaving deeper wounds.

Unfortunately like the Kennedys before him, Joe hadn’t stood up for the faith but kept yielding to — or happily acquiescing in? — left-wing pressure to replace it, drip by drip. It’s like he started off with a flask of spring water but kept putting some other fluid in after every sip he took. And ended up with brain-bending vodka.

The “Intelligencer” column in the left-wing New York magazine was gratified on August 12: “Though neither he nor his aides will say it out loud, the soon-to-be 78-year-old Biden clearly had a chance to influence what the future of the Democratic Party would look like with his selection. No one expects him to run for reelection, which means his choice could be the most important VP pick in generations. . .

“Choosing (Harris) would be widely interpreted as a nod toward the future — more so than his potential selection of any of the candidates older than Harris, or any who hadn’t served in statewide office would,” the “Intelligencer” continued.

Accompanying the article was a photo of the veep selection captioned, “Harris wasn’t Democratic primary voters’ choice for what comes next, but she just got the biggest vote of Joe Biden’s career.”

There ya go, you Democrats who thought, or hoped, or were assured by cassock-wearing politicians, that Joe Biden meant moderation. He might instead have picked, say, Cong. Tulsi Gabbard (D., Hawaii), hardly a conservative but more honorable than Harris. And, as a Samoan-American Hindu, Gabbard would have satisfied Biden’s play for identity politics.

The choice was Biden’s to make. And he made the shameful one that characterizes his continued decline on every front.

From the other side of the world, Australia’s Sky News recalled that Gabbard as an opposing presidential candidate had grilled Harris over smoking marijuana while Harris sent many hundreds of people to jail for that offense, had kept people in prison beyond their sentences to use them as cheap labor, and blocked evidence that would have freed a man from death row — until courts forced her hand.

Yet Biden preferred Harris to Gabbard.

Anathema To Swing Voters

When The Wanderer reached out to national conservative commentator Quin Hillyer to comment on Harris, he pointed to a column for the Washington Examiner that he quickly had produced on August 11. It concluded:

“As Harris showed in the primaries, the more she campaigned, the more unpopular she became. The Trump campaign must be licking its chops over its chance to portray Biden as owned and controlled by the activists who are Harris’ natural constituency. A second term for Trump looks likelier by the day.”

Hillyer has been a firm critic of Donald Trump, but didn’t see Harris teamed with Biden as being a suitable replacement for the president.

“To swing voters — suburban soccer moms turned off by President Trump, a swath of white laborers, family-oriented Hispanic women — Harris will prove to be anathema. Her crusading leftism, hard-edged personal style, and facial sneer will make her like 10,000 fingernails on 1,000 loud chalkboards, amplified by a boom microphone so strong it can be heard for hundreds of miles,” he wrote.

Like Hillyer, an August 12 article at The Federalist site noted Harris is no political “moderate.” It reported: “According to a detailed assessment by Voteview, Harris holds a voting record farther left than 97 percent of Democrats in the 116th Senate, and more liberal than 99 percent of the Senate as a whole.

“Of current members of the U.S. Senate, Harris ranks more liberal than Sen. Bernie Sanders (D., Vt.) while placing as the Democrat with the most liberal voting record in the chamber aside from Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.),” the Federalist article added.

Virginia Catholic Mary Ann Kreitzer, who runs Les Femmes — The Truth blog, told The Wanderer on August 11: “Does anyone know who Kamala Harris really is and what she stands for — other than the left’s sacred issues of child-killing and gender insanity? She called Biden a racist in a backhanded way. She also said she believed the women who accused him of aggressive predatory behavior.

“Really? So she’s willing to endorse and stump for a man she believes is a racist and sexual predator? Harris lacks integrity and principles. Her central issue seems to be advancing her political career,” Kreitzer said.

When Biden announced his selection, Kreitzer said the first thing she thought of “was C.S. Lewis’ comment about men without chests. I think it applies equally to the white-robed liberal women in Congress like Harris: ‘We make men (and women) without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst.’

“God help America if Biden and Harris win in November. It’s a ticket committed to intrinsic evil,” Kreitzer said. “Any Catholic voting for them shares in the evil they will inflict on babies in the womb, the family, and people of faith like the Little Sisters of the Poor. It’s a ticket from Hell and I mean that literally! Voting for them is a mortal sin.”

Conservative political consultant Constantin Querard told The Wanderer on August 11: “Biden put himself in a box, at least whoever is deciding things for Biden did. Instead of saying he’d pick the best person for the job, he said he would not consider men of any race, nor would he consider white women.

“That narrows the field rather dramatically when you’re trying to find someone with enough of a political résumé that the country would be comfortable having them take over as president almost immediately if you’re elected,” Querard said.

“So out of that artificially limited pool he picked Harris, who called Biden a racist just a few months ago. In this case, Biden’s forgetfulness definitely worked in Harris’ favor.

“Most of America will not be surprised to know that she’s a fairly radical left-winger who played the role of ‘tough on crime’ to win election in California as AG,” he said. “She will say anything and do anything to get ahead, and she is now poised to be one increasingly fragile heartbeat away from the presidency, in spite of garnering almost no support from the Democratic Party when she ran for the office.”

Who You Know

Harris’ fellow Californian Barbara Simpson, a conservative commentator in the Bay Area, told The Wanderer that she wasn’t impressed with Biden’s selection:

“Be glad you’re not in the Bay Area, our news media is ‘Kamala’ from top to bottom, and, quite frankly, it will be that way until the election. Harris is the ‘local kid’ with all the political and social baggage that goes with it — think of her affair with Willie Brown, a married man and political power in California Democrat circles.

“He got her many jobs with increasing money and high profile. It all helps in who you know. She is portrayed as ‘tough’ and ‘willing to work’,” Simpson said. “For Biden, that may be good, but she is a total ‘progressive’ with a political history of accusations of infringement of personal rights. So far, the overall coverage focuses on her sex — yes, she’s a woman — and her race.

“They all say she is ‘black’ but she’s not ‘black-black’ as Americans might think,” she said. “She is the child of a Jamaican Christian man and a Hindu woman from India. It’s reported she calls herself a ‘black Baptist,’ who is married to a white Jewish man. There are also reports that her father’s family has whites in it and some were plantation slaveholders. Uh-oh.

“Yes, she’s attractive, and smart, and ambitious, and connected. In all, that makes her very dangerous to people who are concerned with the future of this country,” Simpson said.
