Be Careful With Words?. . . John Roberts, Other Revolutionaries Twist Definitions

By DEXTER DUGGAN

Just to make sure they’re absolved of all their lurking racism and bigotry, will the former Dixie Chicks figure out they’ll have to rename themselves the Nancy Pelosi Chicks (or perhaps the Nancy Pelosi Old Hens), or maybe the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Birdies or Bernie Sanders Cluckers? (The Joe Biden Sick Man Chicks just won’t cut it.)
Somehow for year after year the title Dixie Chicks was accepted effortlessly for the very successful Texas-bred female trio. The name was regarded as denoting the easygoing, sweet-home South.
When the group became identified with opposing President George W. Bush’s Iraq war early in the new millennium and thereby won liberal plaudits, no lefties said the musicians couldn’t be real anti-warriors if they retained “Dixie” in their title.
Only with the arrival of the latest contrived super-moralism served up on a platter of carefree arson and cheerful looting, with firebombs as the relish, did the mere Dixie word become horrid and shameful.
So the trio rebranded themselves as merely The Chicks in late June. Not that everyone thought a little name trickery was worth much. Reader feedback at the hometown Dallas Morning News website included, “That certainly solves all the world’s problems,” and, “In other news, the South will now be known officially as, ‘in that general direction’.”
Meditate on this: The Columbus Dispatch newspaper, in Ohio’s capital city, which happens to be named Columbus, reported on July 1 that the statue of Christopher Columbus officially was hauled away from City Hall, obviously in disgrace. But if the famed explorer can’t be publicly honored there anymore, how can the capital city bear his name? Or the newspaper? Stay tuned for more pillage.
Wikipedia says the state of Ohio takes its name from the river named Ohio, a Seneca Indian word for “good river,” “great river,” or “large creek.” Seeing as how it’s a Native American word, “Ohio” is probably safe multiculturally for now.
Speaking of The Chicks’ word trickery, the Catholic C.J. of the United States, John Roberts, could put them and others to shame for his skills at artifice in the name of constitutional law. C.J. can abbreviate for Chief Justice. For Roberts, it more likely means Cowardly Jurist. Or Catholic Jokester.
When some priest sees Roberts in the congregation, it’d be time for a human-rights homily to shake up this snug denizen of the D.C. swamp.
One can argue that Roberts is about as bad a Catholic as Joe Biden, except that as C.J. (whatever you take those initials to mean), Roberts can enforce the policies on permissive abortion and open borders, as he did in inexcusable recent High Court decisions, that Biden can only ramble about in his current campaign.
A few words to the unwise. Heed them now or regret not heeding them later: Satan has an efficient recycling system when powerful men entering his kingdom brandish two pounds of New York Times articles praising themselves. The flames of Hades incinerate all that paper immediately because there’s no need for scrapbooks of earthly deeds in the despair of down below. Enough, hopefully, said.
Another group besides The Chicks that disdains familiar names, but for a different reason, is the Marxist-based, disorders-fomenting Black Lives Matter, which may find it convenient to pass itself off as some sort of civil-rights group.
However, as the second half of June passed, various conservative sites reported that a video interview from 2015 resurfaced where a BLM co-founder affirmed its Marxist orientation.
The Just the News site posted on June 20, “As Black Lives Matter activism continues to spread throughout the country…a video resurfaced this week in which one of the founders of the black-activism group affirmed that she and her co-founder are ‘trained Marxists’ who are well-versed in ‘ideological theories’.”
The article said that Patrisse Cullors, who founded BLM with Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi in 2013, said in the video interview: “Myself and Alicia in particular are trained organizers. We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories.”
An article posted June 25 at the New York Post said, “While promoting her book When They Call You a Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Memoir in 2018, Cullors described her introduction to and support for Marxist ideology.”
Not that everyone is unacquainted with BLM’s true face. Two pro-life black women praying outside a Planned Parenthood abortuary in New York City got a little news attention in early June after police handcuffed them — even though rioters and looters were running free around the nation.
One of the pro-lifers, Bevelyn Beatty, was reported by Fox News on June 9 saying, “We’re black women but we do not support Black Lives Matter because they’re hand-in-hand with Planned Parenthood that kills African-American babies. They’re fraudulent hypocrites . . . and I believe all lives matter because God created them.
“There are thousands of George Floyds that die every day in their mother’s womb and it’s just as injust as when he died at the hands of that police officer,” Fox quoted her.
The Fox report also said: “Pro-life advocates Bevelyn Beatty and Edmee Chavannes, co-founders of At the Well Ministries, were handcuffed May 30 on the sidewalk outside the Margaret Sanger Planned Parenthood Center in Manhattan for allegedly violating Mayor Bill de Blasio’s coronavirus-related social-distancing guidelines.”
Black Lives Matter’s own website affirms, among other topics, its untraditional views on sex and family, including this: “We foster a queer affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless s/he or they disclose otherwise).”
Yet Marxist BLM is among radical groups that corporate institutions rush to support, apparently hoping to spare themselves from activist ire. But this means serious social transformation. Another preacher of immoral change is the LGBTQs. They demand, and win, boardroom endorsements that, say, pro-lifers wouldn’t think of requesting. They’re out to make the U.S. their ideological hostage.
Consider this corporate boast by the huge investment company Vanguard (maybe you’ve got money there yourself?), headquartered near Philadelphia, that proclaims “Happy Pride Month” and flies the rainbow flag next to the U.S. Stars and Stripes:
“Pride Month was a virtual global celebration with Vanguard crew, friends, and family. Throughout the month, we shared stories and engaged in discussions about history, education, charities, and famous figures from the LGBTQ+ community. From a virtual dance party to a virtual parade, and many events in between, our community showed its Pride.”
Would anyone ever dare burn a rainbow flag — or just a U.S. flag?
In the eight years that Democrat Barack Obama served as president, along with his black attorneys general Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, monuments and statues mainly stood unmolested amid public calm, but they supposedly became so hideously offensive in 2020, humiliating the nation, that they were vandalized and yanked down by leftist thugs.
Fr. John Zuhlsdorf linked to a television report at his blog (wdtprs.com) on July 2 saying that six statues at a Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in northern Ontario, Canada, had been beheaded.
Zuhlsdorf commented: “One of these days, people are going to start fighting back. When they do, I fear that the Left will gin up another pretense to escalate again. That’s how this works. It ramps up and up and up. What plans are you making in your parishes? Oh, right. Authorities — coincidentally — don’t want people to make plans.”
Two days earlier, Zuhlsdorf blogged that Madison, Wis., Bishop Donald Hying allowed a gun show at an unused Catholic school. Zuhlsdorf continued, “The way things are going, we are all going to need guns soon. As the old phrase goes, when questioned, ‘Why do you carry a gun?’ ‘Because a cop is too heavy.’ Pretty soon there won’t be any cops, and then where will we be?”
Zuhlsdorf alluded to radicals’ demands that police be defunded. It’s not as if police functions will disappear. It’s just that radicals plan to do the policing themselves, with their own brand of “justice.”
President Trump’s first national security adviser, Gen. Michael Flynn, victimized by Deep State plotting, posted at The Western Journal on June 29: “I was once told if we’re not careful, 2 percent of the passionate will control 98 percent of the indifferent 100 percent of the time. The more I’ve thought about this phrase, the more I believe it.
“There is now a small group of passionate people working hard to destroy our American way of life. . . . These passionate 2 percent appear to be winning,” Flynn said.
Around the U.S. and elsewhere, inflamed protesters held long-dead public figures up to scorn, demanding that they be excised from honor after kangaroo-court injustice. People from 150 years ago, 200 years ago or longer still were considered suitable for condemnation.
However, there was a certain group whose sins basically were ignored, even though its racism had been oppressive in a large region of the U.S. within living memory, and its sympathizers held powerful positions in the U.S. Congress even into the 1970s. Who could this be? Why, the Democratic Party, the traditional home of the Ku Klux Klan.
Sure, you could say the party has repented of that position now. But a history of deep, longstanding racism seemed adequate reason for other targets to be harshly condemned now — but not Dems who kept slaves in one kind of bondage until Republican President Lincoln freed them, and try to keep blacks in another form of bondage on the Democrat Party plantation today.
Dems might say in their defense that they’re super-multicultural these days, with folks of every color and sexual persuasion. But, hmm, how has such a party persuaded itself that its presidential nominee in 2020 desperately needs to be another old white man, so wan that on June 25 TV and radio talker Sean Hannity called Joe Biden “a ghost of a candidate” who the media protect.
Biden has said 150 million Americans have been killed by gun violence and 120 million are dead from COVID-19 — totaling a large portion of the nation’s population — before straightening out his thoughts or having them straightened for him. Now here’s someone whose State of the Union speech should really need to be torn in two by Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Fat chance of that.

It Seems Strange

Spurned suitors who lost out to some other romantic competitor may ask themselves, “What’s he got that I haven’t got?” It does seem more than strange that elderly, confused-looking, gaffe-heavy Biden — who would be older if he entered the presidency than Ronald Reagan was when he left it — bested more attractive, much younger hopefuls.
Cory Booker? Tulsi Gabbard? Amy Klobuchar? Andrew Yang? None of them could hold a candle to Biden, whose life flickers before us?
In fact, how dare Democrats impose such a man as their nominee. Are there bets that he wouldn’t manage to serve out one term? At least some observers likened him to Alexander Kerensky, the failed Russian moderate revolutionary who couldn’t successfully transition the government in Moscow, which was grabbed by the Communist Bolsheviks in 1917.
Biden would be sure to bring into his administration the firebrands who rule the Dem Party, people who, among other peculiarities, worship massive abortion, abhor traditional religious worshippers, and are cozy with the sexually disoriented. It wouldn’t be a pleasant time for you or me.
New York writer and Catholic David Marcus posted at The Federalist on July 1 that Biden and his party are in a deadly embrace: “Biden is not the leader of the snowball of insanity hurdling (sic) down the mountain that is the Democratic Party. He is an empty facade, a final facile gesture to pride in America before his party tears it down, and maybe even him with it. Joe Biden owns this. He owns all of it. He is his party, and he is just as dangerous as they are.”

Abortion Advocates No Longer Consider It “A Necessary Evil,” They Celebrate Killing Babies

Last week, Kamala Harris became the first vice president in U.S. history to make a public visit to an abortion clinic. Though the Democratic party’s support for abortion is nothing new, Harris’ Planned Parenthood appearance does illustrate how that support has become a flagrant celebration of abortion as a public and personal good, essential to both “freedom” and to “healthcare.” At the appearance, Harris proclaimed,  It is only right and fair that people have access…Continue Reading
