Beware Of Dems… Trump’s Defense Of Religious Liberty, Voting Integrity Contrasts With Opposition’s Record

By DEXTER DUGGAN

President Trump’s statement defending religious liberty, which recalled the martyrdom of St. Thomas Becket by English King Henry II exactly 850 years earlier, served as a stark reminder of the drastically different view held by Democrat Joe Biden, who thinks traditional believers must be suppressed by government in order to reward the radical secularists in Biden’s base.

An equally drastic contrast exists between dominant media’s continued ferocious political falsehoods against Trump, even though they boasted now that Trump soon would leave the presidency, and fawning adoration for cognitively impaired bad Catholic Biden.

The Wanderer published the text of Trump’s statement on page A8 of its January 7 hardcopy issue, “Proclamation on 850th anniversary of the martyrdom of St. Thomas Becket.”

Citing his own efforts to defend religious liberty, Trump said in his statement, released on December 28: “To honor Thomas Becket’s memory, the crimes against people of faith must stop, prisoners of conscience must be released, laws restricting freedom of religion and belief must be repealed, and the vulnerable, the defenseless, and the oppressed must be protected.

“The tyranny and murder that shocked the conscience of the Middle Ages must never be allowed to happen again,” the president said. “As long as America stands, we will always defend religious liberty.”

Commentator George Neumayr posted at The American Spectator site on January 2: “The secularism that Biden represents still views Christianity as ‘meddlesome’ and seeks to encroach upon its freedom. Indeed, its demands — forcing Christians to subsidize or participate in acts that violate their consciences — make Henry II’s violations of religious freedom look quaint.

“But where are the modern-day Beckets to resist those encroachments? They will need to emerge in order to stop Biden’s secularist juggernaut,” Neumayr said.

He noted: “One of Biden’s transition officials is Chai Feldblum, who has spoken openly of her opposition to religious freedom. She has written, ‘Protecting one group’s identity may, at times, require that we burden others’ belief liberty’.”

Conservative Republican political consultant Constantin Querard told The Wanderer on January 4:

“Republicans, and conservatives more specifically, tend to respect traditional values and norms, and respect faith as a central component of life for most Americans. As Democrats, and liberals more specifically, veer further and further towards the extreme left, and attempt to attack or at least rewrite these norms, the gap between the parties and the people who hold these disparate values grows wider and wider.

“So it is alarming but not surprising,” Querard said, “to see the gap between statements supporting religious liberty that come from a Trump White House and the absurd contortions of a Nancy Pelosi-run House of Representatives trying to cheapen or attack religious beliefs.”

In fact, Democrat Cong. Emanuel Cleaver offered the opening prayer for the 117th Congress on January 3 that concluded with a mishmash as he hilariously seemed to believe that “Amen” is a word favoring men that must be countered with a word favoring women.

Cleaver concluded his prayer, “We ask it in the name of the monotheistic god, Brahma, and god known by many names by many different faiths. Amen, and A-woman.”

That a longtime Christian pastor like Cleaver voiced such nonsense showed the extreme that Christians who kneel first to the Democratic Party’s identity politics are willing to go.

The use of “amen” goes back thousands of years and has nothing to do with gender. A search at Google, hardly a right-wing location, found this: “The usage of amen, meaning ’so be it’ (as found in the early Scriptures of the Bible), is a word of Biblical Hebrew origin. The word originated in the Hebrew Scriptures, as a confirmatory response; it is found in Deuteronomy as a confirmatory response made by the people.”

Where will this left-wing Democrat madness stop? Will the word “mention” have a counterpart in “womention”? “Commendation” in “comwomendation”? “Amendment” in “awomendment”? The possibilities are endless.

Indeed, radical Democrat Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s House on January 4 voted to discriminate against long-used commonsense words like “father” and “daughter,” “mother” and “son,” in favor of “gender-neutral language.” Only a deeply mentally ill political party could engage in such buffoonery, while it also cheers on the slaughter of millions of defenseless preborn human babies.

Will Pelosi order Republican congress-humans to be fined or dragged off the floor if they dare refer to fathers and mothers instead of “parents”? Indeed, how will they be able to distinguish between Father’s Day and Mother’s Day? The deranged donkey party is ripe to be laughed into well-merited extinction. Not that its media acolytes plan to contribute to the derision.

The Washington Examiner posted on January 4: “House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, a California Republican, accused Democrats of engaging in a ‘race to wokeness’ that ignores an electorate who flipped more than a dozen Democratic seats to the GOP in the November election.”

On Rush Limbaugh’s January 4 radio program, guest host Todd Herman said that if Democrats can do this, they can order that people can’t say “up” or “down.”

However, outgoing Hawaii Democratic Cong. Tulsi Gabbard told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on January 4 that trying to erase gender recognition was both wrong and a badly misplaced priority for her party. “It’s the height of hypocrisy for people who claim to be the champions of rights for women to deny the very biological existence of women. . . . It’s astounding,” Gabbard said.

Defending The “Deplorables”

Mary Ann Kreitzer, who runs the Virginia-based Les Femmes – The Truth blog, told The Wanderer on January 4 that Trump’s proclamation for religious liberty recalls that “(w)e’re living at a time where the separation between believers and nonbelievers is a chasm deeper and wider than the Grand Canyon. Not since the War Between the States have Americans been so divided.

“In times of crisis, God often uses unlikely instruments and events to reveal Himself,” Kreitzer said. “I think that’s the case with President Trump. Like the pagan King Cyrus, he defends the religious freedom and liberty of the people, the little people. Cyrus ended the Babylonian captivity and aided the Jews in rebuilding the Temple in Jerusalem.

“President Trump has spent four years defending the rights of the ‘deplorables,’ those relentlessly attacked and ridiculed by the left,” she said. “That’s why Americans love him and turn out in such numbers and chant, ‘We love you!’ You can hardly find another politician in history (maybe the Founders) who spoke so eloquently about the religious rights (and other freedoms) of Americans.

“If Biden takes office, we can expect increasing religious persecution. He’s promised to drop the hammer on the Little Sisters of the Poor and every religious institution that refuses to embrace and promote gender insanity,” she said. “The schools are filled with it. If you take the children, you own the future. That’s what The 1619 Project is all about. Biden’s promised to expand the murder of the unborn and champion Planned Parenthood.

“So we have two politicians, one who like King Cyrus defends freedom and liberty and another who follows in the footsteps of King Herod to enslave and murder,” Kreitzer said, adding:

“President Trump summarized the crisis we face at the end of his message on religious freedom…: ‘A society without religion cannot prosper. A nation without faith cannot endure — because justice, goodness, and peace cannot prevail without the grace of God’.”

John Daniel Davidson, political editor at The Federalist website, posted on December 30 that Biden’s veep teammate, Kamala Harris, is “a co-sponsor of the Orwellian-named ‘Equality Act,’ which would force Catholic hospitals to perform gender-transition surgeries and Catholic schools to embrace transgender ideology in their sports programs, among other violations of religious liberty. Biden, too, has expressed his support for the act.”

Rabid Propaganda

Meanwhile, the same dominant media that attacked President Trump savagely for four years showed no signs of relenting even though they assured the nation that he soon would be gone from the White House while Biden took up residence.

After Trump engaged in an hour-long phone call on January 2 with Georgia officials about the inaccuracy of its presidential-election returns, some media contributors offered wild characterizations of his talk — the same sort of rabid propaganda they never tired of concocting.

Under the headline “Trump’s deranged phone call with Georgia secretary of state reveals a desperate man,” a foam-flecked opinion article at CNN raged, “As he pressures them to abandon their duty and come over to the dark side of politics, their refusal makes Trump’s corrupt methods all the more obvious.”

From this, one might suspect that the text of the call would reveal Trump cursing, screaming, offering huge bribes, threatening persecution by government investigators, boasting that he had unlimited powers to destroy those who didn’t surrender to his will. But it’s nothing of the sort. Why did CNN dare to run the article?

The conservative National Pulse website ran the entire text of the call on January 3, along with a story reporting on it.

“Throughout the call, the president makes clear that his calls are for election transparency, full and transparent audits, and public access,” wrote editor-in-chief Raheem Kassam. “At no point does the president imply he wants votes invented or confected, as the establishment media is portraying. He even offers to recuse himself from parts of the conversation and ends by asking for ‘the truth…it’s just that simple’.”

The Georgia officials brushed off the president’s concerns about a seriously inaccurate vote. However, on January 4 The National Pulse reported on the conservative Project Veritas investigative team revealing, in just one example of serious irregularities, that thousands of people were registered at one Georgia office address in order to allow them to vote illegally.

The National Pulse story said this “news also flies in the face of attempted cover-ups by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and his assistant Gabriel Sterling who during a call with President Trump insisted that they had conducted a perfect election.”

Coincidentally, pro-Trump “Dilbert” cartoonist Scott Adams had tweeted on January 2, “Have you noticed that the folks who believe the election was fair have decided their best strategy is personal attacks on people who want an audit? What’s that tell you?”

Meanwhile, election investigations continued elsewhere, including Arizona, despite local and national establishments desperate to ignore them.

For instance, the Internet Hub Radio Phoenix program carried an interview December 28 with citizen investigation coordinator Liz Harris, who spoke of fraudulent voter registrations at vacant lots, sports arenas, county office buildings, commercial addresses, hotels, nonexistent addresses, apartment complexes without an apartment number, and also out-of-state voters. “The numbers are just overwhelming,” she said.
