Biden “Enemy Of Catholic Faith”… Remember Crime Families Who Entertained Us With Duplicity?

By DEXTER DUGGAN

The Biden family is being held up for admiration by partisan media as faithful churchgoing Catholics setting an example. Why, senescent Joe Biden can receive the Holy Eucharist on the weekend then promote massive tax-paid abortion, enforced transgenderism, and naked men in women’s lavatories back in the Oval Office.

How nice for this rosary-praying family man to go to Mass along with son and shakedown artist Hunter, hungry for bagels following church, after bringing home some foreign dough for Dad, “the Big Guy,” scandalous illegality that dominant media had refused to acknowledge.

Doubters can look at the image-rich Bidens in the pews and recall another crime family, the Corleones, from the Godfather movies that began their release in the 1970s.

One of the movie themes was the Catholic veneer to the family lives of Italian mobsters whose business was shakedowns, drugs, torture, and death. What duplicitous hypocrites.

The Godfather II was set in the America of the 1950s and released to theaters in 1974, the year after the U.S. Supreme Court imposed national permissive abortion on a surprised nation. Abortion was not such a commonplace in daily life in the early 1970s.

In a powerful scene, crime boss Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) attempts to console his wife, Kay (Diane Keaton), after her miscarriage of their third child. Kay had converted to Catholicism but is disgusted with his continuing a criminal life.

She bursts out, “Oh, oh Michael, Michael, you are blind. It wasn’t a miscarriage. It was an abortion, an abortion, Michael, just like our marriage is an abortion. Something that’s unholy and evil! I didn’t want your son, Michael. I wouldn’t bring another one of your sons into this world. . . . It was a son, a son, and I had it killed because this must all end!”

She wanted to do something that he wouldn’t forgive her for, she says.

One abortion was unforgivably shocking, but Joe Biden has sworn himself to aborting millions of defenseless infants around the world while imposing his allies’ sex revolution that absolutely degrades women, yet we’re expected to chuckle that silly old Joe and Hunter are trundling bagels back to the White House.

Would Dr. Jill Biden, like Kay Corleone, ever dare insist that her husband drop his criminal brand of politics? How could we expect strong morality from her when she just moved into this fabulous, famous house where she’s sure she belongs?

Even though bad Catholic Joe belongs in a retirement home instead. Where, hopefully, a priest comes to make visits and Joe finally decides to unburden his heaving soul.

Just last summer the Australian Broadcasting Corporation posted a feature about mobsters’ Catholic identity in entertainment.

“From Michael Corleone to Tony Soprano, on-screen mobsters are far more violent than virtuous,” the feature said. “Yet despite dealings in organized crime — and their ability to justify murder as ‘business’ — these men, and their families, identify as Catholics,” the feature said. “Baptisms, confessions and other religious sacraments are strewn throughout The Godfather trilogy and the HBO series The Sopranos.”

A woman walked up to me after daily Mass at our parish on January 22 to say how sad she and her husband were. They didn’t watch any media at all the previous day, Joe Biden’s first full day in office as president. She once worked at a pro-life pregnancy center, she said.

Why wasn’t she rejoicing at a fellow “devout Catholic” going to church, just like her? Maybe because she doesn’t run an administration staffed with hordes of vicious enemies of the Catholic Church and pro-life pregnancy centers like Kamala Harris and Xavier Becerra.

The Second Vatican Council, in the 1960s, is thought to be a favorite of religious “liberals” because it was an “opening to the modern world.” But their bastardized version of a modern world in the 2020s is not Vatican II’s.

In its Constitution on the Church in the Modern World, Vatican II said, “Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes.”

Abominable — as in loathsome, odious, despicable, damnable — crimes, not the next step in the unfolding of faker Joe Biden’s “devout Catholicism.”

What religion are sonograms, Joe Biden? Do those little babies look different to Baptist eyes?

Vatican II never contemplated the Church as a strike force for Godless secularism. Nor as the base camp for intractable renegades like Biden to launch themselves from.

Biden is the dregs of Catholicism, the marionette of the worldwide abortion industry, not a saint whose halo just got delayed in shipment by Amazon.

In a column posted January 25 at the Catholic Herald website, Alexandra DeSanctis wrote: “We should never judge another man’s relationship with God, nor place limits on God’s mercy — but one need not scrutinize Joe Biden’s conscience to note that several of his highest public-policy priorities directly contradict non-negotiable teachings of the faith he professes.

“Out of one side of his mouth, President Biden says he finds in Catholic nuns his inspiration, while he vows out of the other to sue the Little Sisters of the Poor if they fail to provide abortion-inducing drugs to their employees,” DeSanctis said.

DeSanctis added at the National Review website: “It’s one thing to push for federally funded abortion and reinstitute U.S. funding of abortions around the globe despite the opposition of most Americans and most Democrats. But it’s quite another thing to do so while gesturing at Biden’s supposedly devout Catholic faith, as if his baptism is a ‘get out of jail free’ card for any policy decision he makes in contradiction of the Church.”

The Crisis Magazine website on January 21 uncompromisingly headlined an article by Catholic commentator Austin Ruse, “Joe Biden eats and drinks his own spiritual death.” Ruse wrote that the fact Biden thus received the Eucharist from the hands of a cardinal of the Church meant “scandal upon scandal.”

“Joe Biden is an enemy of the Catholic faith. This fact must be repeated as often as humanly possible,” Ruse said. “Joe Biden holds himself out as a faithful Catholic, yet he does not believe in the faith’s fundamental teachings about the human person or human sexuality.”

Ruse went on to point out that in terms of public policy, Biden “will sign the Equality Act, which will end women’s sports in America,” while “(m)en who think they are women will be allowed into women’s showers, and if a real woman turns away in modesty, he will bring charges against her for harassment.”

While dominant media were pleased that Biden could be strong-arming for abortion, they were bashful about spotlighting his “devout Catholicism” as destroying these particular women’s rights — although Biden’s strong-arming for one of these causes was as certain as for the other.

This sly shyness about publicizing the harms of leftism was part of what Russ Vought pointed to in an article at The Federalist on January 26: “The establishment desires to move beyond Trump and return to business as usual: where powerful interests have an outsized voice in setting the agenda, where policy objectives are routinely sterilized of all perceived political risk, and where elites keep their base of voters in the dark.”

Vought is president of the Center for American Restoration.

The Washington Examiner posted on January 26 that Biden’s fast executive order to force schools that accept public funding to allow biological boys to compete in girls’ sports “is a repudiation of science, an eradication of equal opportunities for female athletes, and a contradiction to basic common sense. . . .

“This isn’t just a matter of fairness,” the Examiner added. “Each transgender athlete takes a spot on a team, or a spot in competition, away from a female athlete. A biological male winning a women’s track championship not only deprives a woman athlete of the experience of victory but also fills a valuable placement that could affect scholarship offers to biological females.”

The hosts of the “Russell & Hunter” talk program on Phoenix-based KFYI radio (550 AM) on January 25 said Biden’s sports meddling “is absolutely atrocious. . . . This is dangerous.”

Breitbart News posted on January 26: “An angry firestorm from both left-wing feminists and conservative constitutionalists is besieging President Joe Biden who, on Day One of his presidency, issued an executive order that removes any legal recognition of the two sexes and eradicates protections women have enjoyed in the federal government and other arenas such as bathroom privacy and sports.”

Ascending Or Descending?

On January 23 The New York Times, which has promoted permissive abortion for decades, posted the headline, “In Biden’s Catholic faith, an ascendant liberal Christianity.”

One may debate whether Biden’s brand of religion is ascending or descending. However, the Times hoped he’d be influencing Catholic doctrine in his direction as he goes along, even though, it said, Biden “speaks of how his Catholic faith grounds his life and his policies.”

He’s grounded in what he thinks needs a devastating earthquake?

Biden says he won’t force his own Catholic beliefs about saving babies’ lives on people. However, how strange, he’s dedicated to forcing the other side’s bloodletting beliefs upon them.

Why is it that organs like the Times are pleased when a left-wing politician says his religion guides the politics he wants to impose on other people, but they see no discrepancy when in the very same breath he defends killing the lives of unborn babies because he declines to impose his religious views on others?

If he were a strong political conservative who spoke about his faith inspiring his politics, the Times would be distressed, and in fact has been for decades, at what it views as mixing personal religion with the secular world.

Is this an illogical approach by the Times? Not if the main objective is uniformly enforcing its own bare, ruined theology, er, ideology, no matter how contradictory those twists and turns.

The article moved along to say, “Mr. Biden’s support for abortion rights is already causing tension in the Catholic Church,” and cited Los Angeles Archbishop José Gomez’s statement on inauguration day about Biden policies “that would advance moral evils.”

Clumsily, the Times proceeded to quote an aggressive left-wing fellow challenging Biden to take action: “Birth pangs require one thing: pushing. That is what the movement has to do.”

The last thing that Biden has been pushing, though, is birth. His priority is the bloodshed and mental anguish that result from his emphasis on abortion.

On January 23 National Public Radio’s All Things Considered program headlined, “Biden is Catholic. He also supports abortion rights. Here’s what that could mean.”

After quoting pro-life leader Marjorie Dannenfelser that Biden “can’t bring the Catholic Church along with him because of his political needs,” the NPR article held out hopes: “But for those who would like to see the church take a more permissive stance on issues including abortion, Biden’s election is an opportunity.”

As pro-lifers easily foresaw, Biden in the White House would be a battering ram to give not merely bad but horrible example to poison public understanding. While dominant media cooed in delight.

The NPR article quoted a pro-abortionist being hopeful in the Biden era of turning definitions on their heads, as leftists do. Requiring religious believers to submit to violations of their conscience isn’t what the loss of religious freedom means at all, said the president of “Catholics for Choice.” Instead, loss of religious freedom means people’s “civil rights lost because of individual religious beliefs.”

Like the “civil right” to force pharmacists and nuns to give you abortifacients? And Catholic hospitals to provide your “right” to abortion and sex-change surgery? For some reason, NPR didn’t try to get specific on this.

The traditionalist legal-action organization Alliance Defending Freedom launched a new commercial on January 26 saying that the far left controls both Congress and the White House. “Stand with us before they control your house,” the commercial says, picturing a church building. Presumably Biden isn’t under this house of worship’s roof — unless he’s trying to pull it down.

Biden kneels to an aggressive secular liberalism whose vestments are a few old rags with a smiley face on them. But he wrestles against the God who created him. Beware, Joe. God hasn’t lost a round yet.
