Carly Fiorina . . . Gives Women A Real Option For The White House

By REY FLORES

The 2016 presidential race has just gotten much more interesting. Ted Cruz has announced that he has selected Carly Fiorina as his vice-presidential running mate. What does this mean for the rest of the candidates remaining and what does this mean for the American citizenry?

What this means in my opinion is that the Trump campaign is now faced with either also picking a female vice-presidential running mate, or risking the loss of the women’s vote among conservatives.

Trump’s propensity for having offended so many women in his “bull in the china shop”-style campaign since 2015 has only hurt him, starting with his on-again, off-again feud with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly. The two have since made up enough to have signed off on a Fox prime-time Barbara Walters-style broadcast, in which Kelly interviews Trump. This will serve to give them both unlimited publicity.

With Cruz having chosen Fiorina as his running mate, it goes to show how far ahead of the curve he is when it comes to intelligent political strategy. Women voters who want a woman in the White House, but are repelled by the very troubling Hillary Clinton, now have Fiorina as a far superior choice.

I don’t care what kind of garbage keeps getting drudged up about Fiorina’s failures as CEO at Hewlett-Packard years ago. Haven’t we all failed at one job or another during our working years or at some time in our professional careers?

While Hillary Clinton has demonstrated time after time that she is untrustworthy, arrogant, and self-aggrandizing, Fiorina brings a steely edge of no-nonsense, all-business, “don’t mess with me” attitude that I like.

While Fiorina’s own failed campaign didn’t have enough firepower on its own, with Cruz she creates a fantastic dynamic of two leaders who will not compromise, and a great balance of a strong intelligent man and a strong intelligent woman.

Any woman who votes for Hillary Clinton for the mere and ridiculous fact that she is female is as ridiculous as a black person having voted for Barack Obama just because he was black.

Is that what our country has come to? Is this what Americans want to do to elect our leaders? Base their vote on what gender or race a person is?

Out of all of the candidates we have seen and heard since last year, the ones who have spoken out the most against abortion and homosexual-friendly legislation have been Cruz and Fiorina.

Clinton is a rabid pro-abortion, pro-homosexual opportunist who makes no secret about what master she serves. A Hillary Clinton presidency is the last thing this country needs. It would be the death knell and the imminent destruction of all that was once sacred, pure, and good in our nation.

I see Donald Trump, on the other hand, as a panderer and a chameleon. He started off as an all-of-a-sudden “conservative” who was going to shut Muslims out of the country. As to Trump’s plan to build a huge wall between the U.S. and Mexico: His “we’re going to make Mexico pay for it!” nonsense only served to rile up millions of frustrated and disgruntled low-information Americans, who bite into the red meat that Trump keeps throwing out there.

Then we have the problematic and sometimes violent Black Lives Matter and other liberal low-information protesters who have also bought into Trump’s phony über-conservatism. They have painted him as racist, sexist, and what-not, but all that has done is brought Trump more free publicity.

Trump isn’t stupid. He will go with the flow as part of his modus operandi as master manipulator, savvy businessman, and ruthless operator. One day he’ll be “pro-life” and the next day he refers to the “good” that Planned Parenthood supposedly does.

The latest red flag shot up when Trump was asked about the recent controversial North Carolina “bathroom law.” He said: “People go; they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate.” He really meant to say that these sorts of laws should be left up to the states and not the federal government, but this law is already a state law, so that leaves us wondering how much Trump actually knows about politics.

Enough about Trump. Let’s get back to Fiorina.

One of the first things many Americans ponder when a presidential candidate announces his vice-presidential running mate is: “If something should happen to the president, then ‘so-and-so’ will then become commander in chief.” This is especially a concern under the Obama presidency, because God help us if Joe Biden is ever given the keys to the Oval Office!

What Carly Fiorina brings to the Cruz presidential run is a firebrand who takes no guff and will provide us with some terrific quotes and statements which I can’t wait to hear and write about.

They say behind every good man is a good woman, so in this case we will have a dynamic duo of Washington outsiders who are not part of the Clinton and Trump powerbroker establishments.

Is Trump more entertaining than Ted Cruz? Sure, but I don’t want to elect an entertainer. I want a president who knows and defends the Constitution of the United States.

Is it time for a woman in the White House? Absolutely, but not just any woman — especially not one who has Hillary Clinton’s record for being a complete and total untrustworthy politician who isn’t qualified to be elected dog catcher.

With Cruz and Fiorina on the same ticket, we have two solid, intelligent, fearless people who can make mincemeat out of the establishment news media propagandists who keep pushing Clinton and Trump on us as if those two were our only choices.
