Amid the flurry of accusations about some modern-day Southern Democrat leaders’ past sympathies for the white-robed Ku Klux Klan, it was fitting that Democrat congresswomen came in for President Trump’s 2019 State of the Union address attired in white.
They sat as silent as blanched, inert tombstones when the president denounced national Democrats’ newly exposed hunger for infanticide, eugenic and otherwise. He asked for protective legislation for the babies.
Blacks have a disproportionately high abortion rate, so the observer would ponder why the whitened leftist ladies didn’t leap up applauding Trump’s proposal to protect the babies’ civil rights.
And how strange that for all their proudly proclaimed diversity, they sat together in a rainbow-less, bleached-sand whiteness that would have had them cast into social and political exile if they’d had an explanatory poster pledging their allegiance to a Caucasian Women’s Solidarity Caucus.
The very same symbolism is either very good or very bad. The coin-flipping elitist referee has to tell you which.
Gianna Jessen, who survived a saline abortion in southern California in 1977, tweeted, “The ladies in white made me want to wear black for the rest of my life.”
Virginia blogger Mary Ann Kreitzer posted at her “Les Femmes — The Truth” page on February 6:
“ ‘Democrats for Infanticide!’ or maybe ‘No Baby Left Unmurdered’ ought to be slogans for the Democrat women in white at last night’s State of the Union. They high-fived and cheered for themselves when Trump talked about advances for women. Like happy, clappy little narcissists, they only care about what benefits them.
“They sat in stony, stiff and cold silence when President Trump spoke for the babies,” Kreitzer added.
“How many are mothers in that group? Where is their compassion and concern for the most innocent and helpless among us? Can anyone believe they care about the born when they so happily support the murder by neglect of newborns?”
Bad Catholic and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, seated directly behind Trump as befits her office, repeatedly did that thing of twisting her mouth when her ears are unhappy, like her disrespectful tongue wants to stick itself out but her lips are fighting to keep a clamp on displaying her disdain for decency and moderation.
Pelosi did her twist when Trump explicitly explained the damaging facts about massive illegal immigration for 13 minutes of his 82-minute address. She did it again when old caveman Trump criticized slaughtering innocent babies that Pelosi’s enlightened elite loves to do. Leftists may not like traditional religion, but they know what they worship.
Meanwhile, weird Senate Democrat Minority Leader Charles Schumer, of New York, made something like a smirk when Trump defended the babies’ lives at the State of the Union on February 5.
A smile or smirk hadn’t worked for Covington Catholic teenager Nick Sandmann in January, but it didn’t seem to bring down any roaring condemnations of the elderly Schumer.
For nearly a half-century, pro-lifers have been warned and lectured about how careful and cautious they must be so that they only act with broad agreement to protect preborn babies.
Well, the raving abortion side hasn’t worried about achieving any consensus, not when the Supreme Court suddenly sprang radical permissive abortion on the nation in 1973, and not since then, not even when bloody politicians want gasping abortion survivors dumped in a cold bucket after a semi-doctor aborted them in some semi-medical setting. All hail Kermit Gosnell.
Dominant media never liked to spread the facts about the convicted murdering abortionist Gosnell, not even now, when it looked like his faith that he’d done nothing wrong was being proved by Democrats chomping at the bit to race back to the future of a new German National Socialist medical ethic.
Why not, indeed, call the new proposals Gosnell’s Laws?
Even though Democrats were specifically proposing or even passing into law — see the New York legislature and Gov. Andrew Cuomo — the approval of continuing to kill babies even after they survive abortion, dominant media were untroubled with this barbarity and preferred to look away, toward Virginia’s Dixie Land.
As wrong as racial mockery is, that would seem less awful than actual imposed death on either black or other defenseless babies — except to the dominant media championing the Culture of Death.
Veteran conservative columnist Quin Hillyer told The Wanderer: “It is astonishing to me that supposedly mainstream liberals, including in the media, have gone, in a quarter century, from treating abortion as a necessary evil (even that is wrong), one that should be safe and legal but still rare, to treating as entirely unremarkable the idea of slaughtering babies even after they have been born and are breathing the air of day.
“It is awful that they are worried more about what costume Ralph Northam wore 35 years ago than about the infanticide he supports today,” Hillyer added.
No sooner had Northam, Virginia’s pro-abortion Democrat governor, blithely spoken of discussing whether newborns should be allowed to live — which dominant media excused or played down — than a photo on Northam’s 1984 medical-school yearbook page came to light that appeared to show him either in blackface or Klan robes — and media hit the ceiling.
Northam had been asked to comment during a radio interview after a kindred Virginia Democrat, Kathy Tran, introduced a bill to expand abortion still further in the Old Dominion, up to the moment of birth. At least Tran had a tiny enough conscience remaining that she looked ashamed when a Republican legislator questioned her about it.
There was another bill that Tran recently had introduced, the Washington Examiner posted on February 4 — one to protect the fall cankerworm from deadly insecticides.
Yes, it’s right there on Tran’s online delegate page: “This bill helps to save our birds and butterflies by protecting the fall cankerworm (caterpillar), an important food source for birds and their young during their breeding and migratory season.”
Not for the first time but maybe the millionth, an extreme pro-abortionist was so sensitive to every form of life except the human variety when small and vulnerable.
Northam’s fanaticism, by the way, was merely consistent with his record. He even had campaigned at abortion clinics when running for governor. Back on April 12, 2017, the conservative Washington Free Beacon site, noting Northam’s whistle-stopping along the clinic trail, said he ran with the endorsement of NARAL Pro-Choice America, whose news release said:
“Ralph Northam has not only consistently opposed attacks on abortion and birth control throughout his political career, but has been an outspoken, affirmative champion for expanding access to the services women need to make the reproductive decisions that are right for themselves and their families.”
Meanwhile, opinion writer Victor Joecks at Nevada’s largest daily, the Las Vegas Review-Journal, contrasted media treatment of Covington Catholics with the Virginia abortion worshippers.
“Two weeks ago, the national mainstream media rushed to proclaim the Covington Catholic boys vile racists based on a single smile,” Joecks wrote. “Now the national press is downplaying this (Virginia) story and actively spinning to defend Tran and Northam. The headline of The Washington Post story was ‘Abortion bill draws GOP outrage against Va. Gov. Northam, Democratic legislators.’
“Don’t believe your lying eyes,” Joecks tut-tutted the Post’s slant. “The newsworthy event isn’t that elected officials from Virginia endorsing killing fully formed babies. No, the real story is the Republican reaction to that morally repugnant position.”
With Virginia’s Democrat lieutenant governor and Democrat attorney general also suddenly in the scandal spotlight over sexual and racial embarrassments, respectively, one almost might be tempted to think that divine retribution was being meted out — except justice often isn’t done so neatly here on Earth. But maybe this time it was.
An apparent injustice of a different sort was a White House decision not to invite Gianna Jessen, the abortion survivor, to be one of Trump’s notable guests for the State of the Union speech, even though the Executive Mansion was said to be besieged with requests that she be seated in the gallery.
What more powerful rebuke could there be to the white-clad Democrat congresswomen sitting stonily while Trump defended babies’ lives than Jessen herself before their eyes? Or how about having her walk right over to shake their hands?
Jessen’s Twitter feed on February 5 said, “The White House is getting so many calls to have me at the SOTU that they are interrupting people and filling in my name! haha!…KEEP CALLING!”
When it turned out that she wasn’t asked to attend, Jessen still had a gracious attitude and tweeted, “I absolutely adored every guest honored at the State of the Union speech! I am so happy for them and that honor was given where honor was due. God bless @realDonaldTrump, the guests present in the chamber, our lawmakers, and this beautiful nation under God.”
New U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley (R., Mo.) reminded his Senate colleagues on February 4 that rabid Democrats’ new hunger for vicious death isn’t actually new, but instead has a long, sordid past. “After all,” Hawley said, “the cruelty and extremism that has been advocated by a growing number of Democratic politicians made up the conventional wisdom for much of recorded history.”
Although both the Greeks and Romans are hailed for their contributions to the advancement of civilization, Hawley said, they held most lives in contempt as worthless or unwanted. “This has been the general rule of the ages. The Aztecs, the Mayans, the Incas all practiced child sacrifice,” he added.
Today, Hawley said, “I know some are tempted, when they see this rising tide of barbarism and cruelty, to feel despair, but I do not. I think of the words of Lincoln, who spoke of the unfinished work of this nation, and I take courage that all of these years later, we are a revolutionary nation still” going forward in honoring human dignity.
Trump won some of his strongest applause at the State of the Union when he bluntly attacked Democrats’ lust to destroy the helpless.
“There could be no greater contrast to the beautiful image of a mother holding her infant child than the chilling displays our nation saw in recent days,” Trump said. “Lawmakers in New York cheered with delight upon the passage of legislation that would allow a baby to be ripped from the mother’s womb moments from birth. These are living, feeling, beautiful babies who will never get the chance to share their love and their dreams with the world.
“And then, we had the case of the governor of Virginia where he stated he would execute a baby after birth. Let us work together to build a culture that cherishes innocent life,” the president said. “And let us reaffirm a fundamental truth: All children — born and unborn — are made in the holy image of God.”
