Dem Platform Backers . . . Deserve To Feel Plenty Guilty, But Let Innocent Make False Confessions

September 20, 2020 Frontpage No Comments

By DEXTER DUGGAN

Sellers that misrepresent their goods to gull buyers are an old — need we say biblical? — story. Who wants a basket of rotten apples fit for pigs when she expected them fresh for a pie? This is as old as Adam, Eve, and the apple-hawking serpent in the Garden.
The Marxist-inspired Black Lives Matter violence organization prefers that you focus on its merely hawking justice. However, even its somewhat-sanitized website is candid about its goal to “disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement” as being inferior to “extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another,” and to “foster a queer affirming network.”
“When we gather,” BLM’s What We Believe section continues, “we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless s/he or they disclose otherwise).” BLM still insists, “Defund The Police.”
Being freed from “the tight grip” of traditional sexual understanding, in favor of a collectivity of caring? Sounds, not accidentally, like part of the days of the Bolshevik Revolution.
This is an agenda far beyond protecting people from being arbitrarily shot by police.
Like victims in Communist totalitarian states, innocent people in the U.S. these days are faked into confessing “crimes” they never committed.
After BLM’s propaganda warriors surged to the fore earlier this year, people are pressured to abase themselves as the latest oppressors in centuries of comprehensive “systemic racism” that they never countenanced — or were collectively damned for — during the recent Democratic presidencies of leftists Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
For instance, The College Fix website posted an article September 8 reporting that Northwestern University law-school faculty groveled at an online town hall for allegedly being racists.
The article writer, Maria Lencki, of the Franciscan University of Steubenville, said the site requested more information about the guilty pleas: “The College Fix has reached out to professors named in the screenshot, the law school dean, and Northwestern’s media relations offices, numerous times via email over the last week. No one is talking.”
Those who were emailed did not respond, Lencki wrote, to inquiries of “why she did this, whether she was coerced, what the goal of the exercise was, whose idea it was, and several other emailed questions sent at least three times last week.”
On the other hand in these upside-down leftist days, people who truly have something to apologize for, or at least disassociate from, are supporters of the radically, rabidly pro-abortion Democratic Party, whose platform makes no bones about crushing countless babies’ bones. But these supporters just make excuses instead of denouncing the bestiality. So the bestiality grows.
“Oh, but in many cases, it’s only cartilage, not bone yet,” these supporters may say, which tells you what you need to know about their rationalization. They don’t even think they’re being soulless. But if the death involves crushing puppies or kittens, do they ask about the stage of bone development before deciding whether it’s cruel?
Or let’s say they found a charitable group to donate to. It feeds, houses, and clothes the needy, finds them jobs and provides transportation and a weekly stipend. Wonderfully admirable. Just one more thing. Because the group thinks poverty is unbearable, and it only has limited funds, it sends any of the poor it can’t help into a gas chamber.
Would a good Democrat still donate? Probably not. So this charitable group would be forced to shape itself up instead of keep doing some horrible evil amid its commendable philanthropies.
So why do Dems let their party not only continue to get away with but even expand its advocacy of mass extermination of the defenseless, innocent preborn? An advocacy the party puts into ferocious effect when voters give it the political power. And then appoints judges who need no voter approval to effect the atrocity.
Suddenly, lefty Catholics’ fondness for “prophetic witness” dries up and blows away when they’re actually called to do — what? Have their heads chopped off or be hanged around the neck by piano wire, as in National Socialist Germany? Be sent to the Arctic for frigid forced labor until death, as in the Soviet Union?
Well, no. They might feel a pinch of social disapproval from some of their clique, or be criticized on Facebook. Or even — such disgrace — see an item against them written in The New York Times.
Somehow one thinks they’d be willing to bear this extent of disapproval if it meant saving some puppies or kittens. But human babies? Oh, the crimes countenanced in order to avoid certain frowns from the favored.
On September 12 Virginia Catholic Mary Ann Kreitzer posted at her blog, Les Femmes – The Truth, an invitation to pay attention to the anti-life, anti-Catholic extremism of the Democratic Party platform.
“Read the Democrat platform, especially the section on women’s rights and gender equality,” Kreitzer wrote. “Does this conform by any stretch to Catholic teaching or is it in direct violation, supporting sins that call to Heaven for vengeance? Believe me, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out!”
Asked for a comment, conservative Republican political consultant Constantin Querard told The Wanderer on September 16, “As extreme as some people will find the 2020 Democrat platform, it is largely just as extreme as it was in 2016.
“They will always be trying to push the norms on some issues as the Democratic Party moves further left, but abortion on demand is a core Democratic value and has been for a long time,” Querard said. “Quashing the First Amendment rights of people the left disagrees with is a core Democratic value and has been for a long time.
“Demonizing law and order, minimizing the role of God in our daily lives, campaigning against the idea of American exceptionalism are all core Democratic values and have been for a long time,” he said.
“The problem is too many voters vote personality over policy or just vote for the team jersey instead of paying attention to who is wearing it, so hardly anyone cares what a party’s platform calls for,” Querard said.
Fr. John T. Zuhlsdorf posted at his blog (wdtprs.com) on September 15 that it’s not enough for prominent bad Catholics like Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to go to Confession in order to be restored to God’s graces after promoting their evils, but also to “make PUBLIC reparation for the harm they have done. They owe this to all of us out of justice” because they’re prominent figures who led others gravely astray.
Moreover, Zuhlsdorf said, bishops and priests must admonish and correct such politicians not only for the politicians’ souls but for their own. Otherwise, people become confused and are led into error “by those sin-promoting politicians” that the churchmen failed to rebuke.
At the First Things website on September 16, attorney and seminary moral theology chairman Kenneth Craycraft not only listed the ways Biden’s administration would push permissive abortion deeper into medicine and society while fighting against any potential state restrictions and conscience protections, but also promoting the rest of Democrat platform sexual disorientation.
These include discriminating against women from the locker room and lavatory to athletics, as well as imposing gender ideology — “Biden’s language is code for forcing health-care workers to perform — and for forcing employers’ insurance plans to cover — elective sex-change therapies and surgeries that are not medically indicated, but driven by ideology rather than medicine.”
As for what happens when Democrats are free to impose their favored political policies virtually without limit, consider California, a Dem Party paradise with wealthy donors aloof from the reality of the suffering that unleashed Democrats cause, and poor people, often illegal immigrants, who’ve been taught that U.S. society owes them big.
Caught between the demands of these groups, the middle class flees.
Ed Martin, president of the Phyllis Schlafly Eagles, observed in a September 14 tweet: “With wildfires raging, blackouts rolling, and churches still closed, it’s no wonder more Americans are leaving California than coming. Terrible mismanagement on every level within the state shows a small picture of what our nation would be like under Joe Biden.
“If Americans want to know which political ideology to support, just look to the Golden State. Californians are voting with their feet,” Martin said.
One might also note the disastrous role of California’s agenda-shaping main media, led by the Los Angeles Times, which lured so many wayfarers on the road into the ditch. Perhaps a very deep ditch. Perhaps a ditch that, at its bottom, was hot with flames from further below.
Wall Street Journal columnist Gerald Seib posted on September 14 that the most important 30 minutes of the presidential campaign hadn’t arrived yet, but will occur at the start of the first scheduled debate between Biden and President Trump on September 29, when viewers assess whether Biden looks up to the White House job.
This would be to ignore questions of policy or even second impressions, but many people are curious if Biden is as much of a goof-off as he has been time and again on the campaign trail — which is why his handlers so often have kept him off, or strictly limited, it.
Has Biden’s mental fog been a ruse to mislead Trump into thinking he easily can outclass the Democrat nominee at the debate? Or will a powerful medicinal dose of whatever allow Biden to shine for a little while before lapsing back into his reveries after the event?
When Fox News’ Bret Baier asked Biden press secretary T.J. Ducklo on September 10 if Biden uses a teleprompter to answer simple questions, Ducklo wouldn’t reply but chased down Biden-style rabbit holes.
That’s understandable when Biden can babble like this on his own: “Cause if you could take care, if you were a quartermaster, you can sure in hell take care runnin’ a, you know, a department store uh, thing, you know, where, in the second floor of the ladies department or whatever, you know what I mean?”
That could come in handy if somehow Biden actually were put on the spot about, say, how his alleged devout Catholicism allows him to promise to abort as many babies as possible, and to compel others both to pay for this and surgically perform it.
“Abortion,” we can imagine Biden replying. “That’s when the dirigible, you know, went off, off the uh, off the rails at the, you know, the air hangar thing, dropped the chops, pork chops, the Chinese restaurant thing, one-child, you know, policy. Won’t, uh, uh, second-guess. Question, next question?”

Vinegar Of No Vintage

In a September 16 commentary, pundit Michael Medved said a question he’d have for Biden is: Would you appoint a 78-year-old to a top position in your administration?
Biden turns 78 in November, before he even could enter the White House if he were to win on November 3 – or thereabouts, pending vote trickery — which would make him the oldest new president in U.S. history.
The ever-energetic Trump, at age 74, is only a few years younger than the weak-looking Biden, but provides a striking demonstration of how some people age better than others.
Whether or not Trump is vintage champagne, Biden is vinegar of no vintage. If, that is, Biden is even strong enough to be vinegar.

Now more than ever, vehicles like The Wanderer are needed for clarification and guidance on the issues of the day.

Catholic, conservative, orthodox, and loyal to the Magisterium have been this journal’s hallmarks for five generations. God willing, our message will continue well into this century and beyond.

Abortion Advocates No Longer Consider It “A Necessary Evil,” They Celebrate Killing Babies

Last week, Kamala Harris became the first vice president in U.S. history to make a public visit to an abortion clinic. Though the Democratic party’s support for abortion is nothing new, Harris’ Planned Parenthood appearance does illustrate how that support has become a flagrant celebration of abortion as a public and personal good, essential to both “freedom” and to “healthcare.” At the appearance, Harris proclaimed,  It is only right and fair that people have access…Continue Reading
