Hispanic Conservatism Is On The Rise

By REY FLORES

As the 2016 election year draws nearer, many people are wondering where our country will be headed after eight long and tedious years of Obama’s liberalism and renegade politics.

If anything, at least we can say that the Republican Party has the most interesting set of presidential candidates it has ever showcased. While I tend to stay away from politically correct words like “diverse” and “diversity,” there’s no denying that the GOP has the most diverse group of candidates with two Hispanic-Americans, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, for example. Bobby Jindal, who withdrew from the race as I was writing this column, is an Indian-American.

Meanwhile, back at the Democratic Party side of things, we have the old progressive warhorse Hillary Clinton and the over-the-hill hippie Bernie Sanders, both putting out the old snake-oil sales pitch about free everything for everyone!

As a Hispanic-American, I am glad to finally see two Hispanic-Americans running for president, but I want to make it clear that it isn’t because Cruz and Rubio are Hispanic that I would be willing to vote for either one of them.

Let’s say Illinois Cong. Luis Gutierrez and Texas Cong. Joaquin Castro were both running for president. You can rest assured that I would not vote for either of these socialist, anti-constitutionalist individuals.

It’s similar to when Obama ran in the last two presidential elections and liberals would automatically label you a racist if you didn’t vote for him. I often replied to these accusations by stating that it isn’t the color of his skin, but the lack of content of character within his skin that I have a problem with.

The Democratic Party has long assumed and presumed that blacks and Hispanics will automatically vote for them and they’re right. The progressive left has done a terrific job of creating whole ethnic sectors of the American landscape into oppressed victims who will buy into the idea that conservatism and capitalism are only for rich, white, racist old men.

Members of the Republican Party for the most part have done a great job of shooting themselves in the foot by also buying into that idea that they are rich, white, racist old men who care about no one except other rich, white, racist old men.

I certainly understood what Donald Trump meant when he made comments this past summer about some illegal immigrants being rapists and murderers. He didn’t mean every single Mexican was a rapist or a murderer. But the liberal news media made sure to take advantage of the opportunity to once again paint all conservatives and Republicans as racist, old, rich white men.

If anything, Trump should just be a little clearer about what he means instead of giving ammunition to the liberal propaganda news peddlers. On the other hand, Trump continues to top the polls despite his “bull in a china shop” approach.

There is, however, a new sunrise in America when more and more minority groups are realizing what a bunch of liars many members of the Democratic Party are. More and more Hispanic Americans are realizing that the Democratic Party wants nothing more to do with them than to get their votes and to heck with them after election time. It’s looking like a mass exodus for minorities from the Democratic Party plantation.

Hispanic-Americans have a lot more in common with the conservative family values that the Republican Party claims to espouse, but somehow the Republicans have yet to truly capitalize on this fact. Instead, they are like the awkward teenage boy trying to ask a girl to dance. He knows it would be terrific to be able to dance with the girl, but instead of just talking to her, he trips and stumbles, somehow insults her, and she instead falls for the false promises of another guy, that is, the conniving Democrats.

One Catholic apologist based out of Phoenix has just released a terrific new e-book titled Knocked Off the Donkey — Burro No More. It details how it isn’t so much about how many people left the Democratic Party as it is about how the party itself abandoned so many when it started endorsing all sorts of depravities: abortion, contraception, and homosexuality.

Jesse Romero, a former police captain with the LAPD, is now an author and radio show host and has been featured on EWTN and Guadalupe Radio. He authored his latest book just in time for the 2016 elections and I hope people will download a free copy on Romero’s website at www.jesseromero.com, and help distribute it far and wide.

It’s great to see more and more Hispanic conservatives coming out of the shadows, especially with 2016 right around the corner. For my part, I started my own website, which I invite you to visit at www.TheConservativeHispanic.net.
