Illegal-Entry Highway Deaths . . . Show Part Of Picture Of Damage Being Done By Unbalanced Media

PHOENIX — On the same day that a veteran Arizona major television news anchor explained why she was leaving her job, at least 13 illegal immigrants left this earthly life in a highway collision more than a 230-mile drive west of here near California’s border with Mexico.
Both events on March 2 involved the condition of media reporting these days.
Although TV anchor Kari Lake didn’t go into details during a video about what displeased her, she plainly said that journalism had become unrecognizable from what it was when she first walked into a newsroom in 1992.
The Arizona Daily Independent quoted Lake on March 2, “I think in a way the nastiness toward me is meant to scare other journalists who are open-minded and considerate of all points of view to snap back into line or they, too, will be ‘canceled’ and their reputation attacked.”
An article at the state’s largest news platform, the leftist Arizona Republic, didn’t conceal its dislike for Lake while quoting her on March 2 as saying, “The media needs more balance in coverage and a wider range of viewpoints represented in every newsroom at every level and at each position. In the last few years I haven’t felt proud to be a member of the media. I’m sure there are other journalists out there who feel the same way.”
Later, she told national radio talk host Larry Elder on March 3, “It’s not a crime to have traditional values. It’s not a crime to love America.”
Meanwhile, at least 13 of the 25 people crammed into an SUV with most of its seating removed died in California border-smuggling territory when the vehicle was broadsided as it entered the path of a big-rig truck in the early morning.
A March 3 USA Today article quoted a safety consultant about how such excess passenger weight would impair the SUV’s stability.
They reportedly were among more than 40 illegal immigrants who came through a hole cut in a border barrier.
The Associated Press reported on March 3 that a separate smuggling vehicle “carried 19 people, and it caught fire for unknown reasons on a nearby interstate after entering the U.S. All escaped the vehicle and were taken into custody by Border Patrol agents.”
The fatal collision occurred as masses of illegal aliens eagerly responded to the theme being set by the corrupt Biden administration, and blared forth in the open-borders dominant media, that the bad old days of wall-building “immigration restrictionist” President Donald Trump are over.
Many news reports earlier, on March 2, weren’t forthcoming about how the circumstances of the southern California crash matched the profile for border smuggling.
However, a San Diego woman told The Wanderer on March 3: “The second that I heard the location of the accident, and the number of those who died, I knew that it was a coyote running his ‘clients’ into the U.S. May God have mercy on them all.”
Westward of the crash, along California’s urban coast, news photos coincidentally showed putative “asylum seekers” in Tijuana wearing tee-shirts with Biden’s name lettered in color in the style of his presidential campaign logo, asking, “Please let us in!”
Generous U.S. legal-immigration policies never seem to be enough for those who oppose any limits — just as any voting security during “election month” is blasted by leftists as suppressing the vote.
In addition, Fox News posted on March 3 that 108 illegal immigrants tested positive for the coronavirus at the main bus station in Brownsville, Texas, where the Border Patrol is releasing them, since late January, but the city doesn’t have the authority to prevent them from traveling elsewhere in the U.S., including New Jersey and Maryland.
Biden and his team insisted, as had the Barack Obama team during that presidency, that there’s no border crisis even though there’s also no strong border security.
However, Pinal County, Ariz., Sheriff Mark Lamb told Fox Business on March 3 that illegal immigrants’ hopes for leniency from the Biden administration made a real difference in the border violations his office encounters now.
“We’ve seen a huge increase in the amount of pursuits” in the last two months, Lamb said, with “vehicles bailing out on us non-stop” — meaning that occupants simply jump out and run, knowing that law enforcement can’t catch all of them splitting away in different directions on foot.
In addition, his office had just caught 35 violators but had to release them into the community — “I’m embarrassed to say that” — because federal authorities didn’t hold them, Lamb said.
Asked about Biden administration attempts to blame Trump for the problems, Lamb replied bluntly, “Don’t listen to that crap.” Over the last four years under Trump, Lamb said, there had been “a significant reduction” in the amount of human and drug trafficking into the U.S. So when politicians now say it’s Trump fault, “It’s a flat-out lie,” the sheriff said.
In the first month of the Biden presidency, Lamb said, there were “disastrous things already. I’m not looking forward to what we’re facing as an agency here in Arizona and in this country if they continue down this road of reckless policies.”
The sheriff said that if anyone cares about “human beings and human rights, you should absolutely care about border security,” because women are being raped, children being used as pawns, and men being extorted, plus drugs are “pouring into our community. . . . Because this is not going to be good for America.”
Lamb suggested that people look up sheriffs’ ProtectAmerica
Now.com website. Under “About us,” the site says, “Americans are overwhelmed with false messages from the mainstream media every day. Protect American Now is committed to breaking through the ‘Fake News’ and educating Americans about how our sheriffs and the law-enforcement community are standing for our Constitution and law and order.”
An Arizona woman told The Wanderer on March 3 that she was outraged after the fatal California crash because of the “death and destruction” set to explode across the U.S. due to Biden’s open-borders policies.
She asked to have her name withheld because of her security fears as a southern Arizona resident, but she described herself as a “member of a huge cross-border family whose history” in this area goes back to the 1880s.
The woman said her “fury” at Biden and the Catholic bishops who support him “is beyond putting into words. . . .
“The accident in California and the resulting deaths were foreseeable and preventable,” she said in a statement to this newspaper. “President Trump had instituted policies which decreased illegal entrants and human trafficking and deaths by the truckloads to a comparative trickle. The lives saved by Trump can only be imagined.
“But here comes Biden, the self-declared ‘good Catholic’ who is supported by the majority of bishops, who ignore his attacks against religious freedom and his support of abortion. The majority of bishops also support Biden’s open-border policies, a destructive policy they have supported for decades,” the woman said.
“The deaths that occurred in California will be repeated from now on across our country with the Biden policies, destroying the sending countries and families as well as America and its families. In fact, the death and destruction will now explode across the country,” she said, adding:
“At the same time the illegal entrants broke the laws of God and man to get into America in California, another group was doing the exact same thing hundreds of miles to the east. LawEnforcement
Today.com reported information released by Rio Grande Customs and Border Protection about more than 500 illegal entrants apprehended in a 24-hour period in Mission, Texas, a small border community.
“The rush is on,” she said. “Those 500 caught are a fraction of those who came and were not caught.
“What do the uncaught do? They melt into the community. They literally wreak chaos with stolen cars, stolen jobs, stolen identities and theft,” she said. “One such apparently illegal entrant T-boned a young man in Mission on March 1” while he was “speeding in a set-aside bus lane and ran a red light, hitting the young man’s car on the back wheel well.
“The force spun the car 180 degrees and did significant damage,” the woman said. “The young man survived, but was traumatized.”
The young man, she said, is one of her own grandchildren.
“The Spanish-speaking driver had no license, no ID, no insurance, no registration, but was driving a car with Texas plates. The car was likely stolen. The driver is almost certainly an illegal entrant,” she said. “He was ticketed for every infraction. He will not show up to court. He will not be deported under Biden. He will live to destroy someone else’s property and perhaps to kill someone.
“There are a million ways to help the poor of other countries,” the woman said. “Destroying America is not one of them. It is unacceptable and must be stopped immediately.
“The bishops already have the policies needed to really help other countries in the teachings of the Church. St. John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI both taught that borders should be respected and the help for the poor of other countries should be family protective and aid in the building of their own countries,” she said.
“The bishops need to stop their destructive support, and silence about the life-destroying policies of the political class, primarily the Democrats and Biden. But also their silence on the one-world government so touted by both parties,” the woman said. “Culture is crucial. Retaining and preserving cultures is life-giving, according to St. John Paul.”
The Daily Wire website on March 2 posted a reminder that when sanctimonious Biden encourages something, he actually gets more of it.
“The Biden administration appears to be facing a child migrant crisis,” the Daily Wire item said. “President Joe Biden loosened restrictions on the southern border, and asylum-seekers responded, flooding over the border in the hopes of taking advantage of the new administration’s more lenient immigration policies.
“As a result, the Biden administration has had to reopen juvenile migrant-detention facilities — a move made in sharp contrast to Biden’s rhetoric on the campaign trail, when he accused the Trump administration of keeping ‘kids in cages,’ when it housed unaccompanied minors in the same or similar facilities,” the item said.

A Shroud Of Doubt

Meanwhile, after the U.S. Supreme Court once again dodged vital questions on election integrity by declining to review them from the 2020 vote, longtime conservative Justice Clarence Thomas chastised colleges who avoided the issue.
The Washington Examiner quoted Thomas on February 28: “One wonders what the Court waits for. We failed to settle this dispute before the election, and thus provide clear rules. Now we again fail to provide clear rules for future elections. The decision to leave election law hidden beneath a shroud of doubt is baffling. By doing nothing, we invite further confusion and erosion of voter confidence.”
Striking the same note, the following admonition was included amid an assortment of editorial cartoons posted at the Citizen Free Press site on March 1: “Ignoring evidence of election fraud because the election is already over is like ignoring a murder because the victim is already dead.”
Northern California conservative commentator Barbara Simpson told The Wanderer on March 2: “The decision by the Court to decline considering any challenges to the election results is a sad reflection on what appears to be partisanship on the part of the justices. Somehow, I doubt they would have done the same thing if the challenge was submitted by a Democrat.
“This is simply another example of the failure of our system under liberal influence, and the long-term effect on our system of justice is dire,” Simpson said.
Conservative Republican consultant Constantin Querard told The Wanderer on March 3: “In most cases the justices are not commenting on the cases, they’re just refusing to take them up. That leaves pundits to guess at why, but it is almost always because none of them believe the lower courts made any errors or because none of them believe the appeal has merit.
“Only one case had justices dissenting from the decision to not hear the case, and those justices wrote that they thought the court had both the opportunity and the obligation to provide some certainty before the 2024 election,” Querard said.
Finally, amid all of Joe Biden’s bleating that he wants “unity” — even though culture warrior Biden does all he can to create outrage and division — Facebook user Ira Brodsky was puzzled. Isn’t “diversity” what Democrats always claimed is so great?
