Illegal Marchers’ New Tactic . . . Could Be The Tool To Trample U.S. Sovereignty Into The Dust

By DEXTER DUGGAN

PHOENIX — If thousands of lower-class conservatives were being escorted across the United States in buses, trucks, and trains in order to physically overwhelm the U.S. House of Representatives’ chamber so that Democrat politicians couldn’t claim their new majority power there in January, the dominant media would have no end of questions about how this came to be, so they could stop it.

Who’s financing all the transportation? Providing all the food and drink? All the medicine? Doing the organizing? The overnight shelters? Why are men with “Republican National Committee” T-shirts prominent in running this road show?

The mass movement is all too real, but it’s coming up through Mexico to the U.S. southern border instead of heading from Bakersfield, Provo, Wichita, Omaha, and Ashtabula to Washington, D.C.

“We’re not being told the truth” about how this is happening, said Phoenix radio conservative talk-show host James T. Harris (KFYI, 550 AM) on November 20.

Not that the truth can’t be discovered.

Prominent among the Latino marchers were organizers from Pueblo Sin Fronteras (pueblosinfronteras.org), an avowedly no-borders left-wing organization whose home page includes the proclamation of “Our Dream”: “To build solidarity bridges among peoples and turndown (sic) border walls imposed by greed.”

The stereotype is that only U.S. citizens behind protective fences are racists trying to cling to their unjust riches. However, citizens of Tijuana, Mexico, reacted just as their U.S. neighbors could when unauthorized Central American invaders from a “caravan” recently marched in to their city, just south of San Diego, prior to trying to enter the U.S.

Tijuana residents protested against and even brawled with some of the intruders, telling them to go back home instead of trying to impose their burdens on Mexico.

KKNT radio news (960 AM, Phoenix) reported on November 19 that some of the Mexicans said the Mexican government was treating the non-Mexican marchers better than Mexican citizens themselves.

That sounds like another way in which these Tijuana neighbors resemble Americans who feel they’re treated more like second-class citizens than border-jumpers are.

For decades illegal aliens individually or in small or large groups have sneaked into the U.S., unwilling to follow established immigration regulations, as law-abiding people do. Eventually there were tens of millions of illegal aliens here.

Now, the gathering of thousands of organized marchers into potentially multiple caravans northward poses a new threat. Their possible success would remove the last reluctance to charge across the border en masse and trample the U.S. into submission. They weren’t to send troops ahead of themselves to destroy U.S. sovereignty. They themselves were to be the invasion troops.

Unfortunately, even the leftist bureaucrats of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops have confused and deadened the consciences of people south of the border into thinking that massive unauthorized entry is entirely tolerable if not downright blessed. Also unfortunately, the bishops of the Catholic Dioceses of Phoenix and Tucson have joined in the effort.

In techniques being refined these days by people smugglers, illegal aliens have been told to bring entire families with them in the belief it’s harder to expel children, even though the aliens exposed their children to all the dangers of the trek. And instead of just saying they hope for higher pay, they’re counseled to say they want “asylum.”

President Trump recently attempted to restore order to the asylum process by declaring that its applicants must go through recognized ports of legal entry. But an agenda-driven liberal federal judge put Trump’s order on hold on November 19 and said they can continue entering illegally then request asylum.

The Washington Examiner posted on November 20 that the Trump administration vowed “to continue its efforts to reform asylum policies in a way that makes illegal entrants ineligible to apply, but it is running out of time to do so before as many as 10,000 Central American migrants traveling as part of a caravan to the U.S. have begun arriving in Mexican towns just south of the border.”

On November 17 conservative Catholic Mary Ann Kreitzer posted a video at her Les Femmes — The Truth blog by documentary filmmaker Ami Horowitz, who joined the caravan in southern Mexico to gather facts about it.

Describing scenes in his video, Horowitz said it’s “a massive logistical effort underway, akin to moving an army, and it’s clearly costing someone millions of dollars. . . . It’s a supply chain that’s being delivered by an army of trucks. These are all necessary to keep this enormous group moving forward. . . ..

“Ever-present among the thousands of migrants are workers” acting as mobilizers from the no-borders Pueblo Sin Fronteras organization, Horowitz said, filming one of these workers saying, “The U.S. is nothing because there is a lot of racism there.”

Asked if the U.S. should let in anyone who wants to enter the nation, marchers replied yes.

Horowitz concluded that leftist organizations are using these migrants as a tool to push a certain political agenda to weaken U.S. sovereignty and security, with the marchers being caught in the crossfire.

Fox News posted on November 19 that according to U.S. homeland-security officials, “More than 500 criminals are traveling with the migrant caravan that’s massed on the other side of a San Diego border crossing. . . .

“The revelation was made during a conference call with reporters,” Fox News said, “with officials asserting that ‘most of the caravan members are not women and children.’ They claimed the group is mostly made up of single adult or teen males and that the women and children have been pushed to the front of the line in a bid to garner sympathetic media coverage.”

The National Border Patrol Council’s Art Del Cueto told Phoenix radio talk host James T. Harris on November 15 that caravan marchers were saying, “We’re not afraid of you. . . . Get rid of Trump.” Del Cueto said they were mockers, making vulgar gestures to Border Patrol officers.

National talk-radio host Laura Ingraham recalled on November 20 that during CNN reporter Jim Acosta’s confrontation with Trump at a White House press conference that got Acosta slapped down, the CNN fellow had simply asserted, “As you know, Mr. President, the caravan was not an invasion.”

On November 10 Washington Examiner writer Eddie Scarry had noted that Acosta’s tactic isn’t to ask questions seeking information, but to grandstand at the White House with his own personal views. Scarry wrote that Acosta uses “a pretext . . . to take the microphone and have his moment, an act everyone has seen over and over again for nearly two years.”

Cong. Louie Gohmert (R., Texas) warned on Fox News on November 18 that if the U.S. House doesn’t approve border-wall funding soon, it won’t be possible once Democrats take House control in January.

Gohmert said he warned before the midterm elections that Republicans needed to provide the funding, but because they didn’t, he thinks that’s one reason they lost their House majority.

From the beginning of his presidential campaign in 2015, Trump emphasized his commitment to improving border protection, but as his time in the White House approaches two years, he has fallen far short on achieving this, even though an obstructionist Congress and defiant judges need blame, too.

An experienced political operative who asked not to be named because of his position told The Wanderer:

“Trump is the president, he has both the phone and the pen, he has vetoes and executive orders, he has the military and the U.S. Corps of Engineers, and for his first two years in office he had a Republican Congress and an army of people who would happily blow up the switchboard on Capitol Hill if he asked them to.

“Yes, you can blame the judges and Congress for some of the inaction,” the operative added, “but we can’t give Trump all of the credit for all of the good things and then claim he’s powerless on the wall. He needs to keep his promise and very, very soon, given the caravan and those that follow behind it.

“The public is still with Trump when it comes to wanting illegal immigration stopped,” he said. “As he gears up for 2020, he needs to make real progress on that front, because it will be very obvious if he is being successful or not. They will reward success and punish failure.”

The operative cited Trump’s thinking as expressed in his own books, which “repeat his belief that overpromising is nothing more than a simple tactic.” He cited this from Trump’s The Art of the Deal:

“The final key to the way I promote is bravado. I play to people’s fantasies. People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do. That’s why a little hyperbole never hurts. People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular. I call it truthful hyperbole. It’s an innocent form of exaggeration, and a very effective form of promotion.”

The point, the operative said, is that “Trump’s bluster isn’t an act, or if it is, then it represents the longest-running play in Broadway history. And while it was a part of the combination of factors that snagged him a win over Hillary in 2016, voters in 2018 punished him for it.

“His economic policies have been working well, and the economy is largely humming along. Which is how you know that voters object to how he says things at least as much as what he says, and they voted on those things a great deal more than on what he is doing,” the operative said.

Phoenix conservative activist Rob Haney told The Wanderer on November 20: “To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln from his Lyceum Address of 1838: If the U.S. is to be destroyed, it will not come from abroad but from within by suicide. The adherents of the Democrat Party ideology have been delivering a slow-drip of illegal-alien poisoning into the veins of the American body culture for nearly 50 years.

“Illegal immigration and voter fraud are the Democrat Party’s salvation,” Haney said. “Their ideological poison has blocked the powers of reason and intellect that had sustained the American character. They have now brought us to the verge of suicide from within that Lincoln foretold.

“Instead of reason, we get CNN’s Jim Acosta mincing words to proclaim that thousands of illegal immigrants forcibly crossing into our country is not an invasion,” he said. “And we get a judge ruling that Acosta must be permitted to shock us with his repugnant behavior during White House press conferences. Another judge rules that President Trump cannot refuse asylum to caravanning illegal aliens.

“The proponents of this suicidal ideology include McCain Republicans as well as Democrats. These two groups have worked together to infiltrate tens of millions of illegal aliens of every race who have no desire to assimilate,” Haney said.

“The policies of the Democrats and McCain Republicans have destroyed our English-language cultural unity with protesting illegals and rioting fascist anarchists. They have given us division and chaos and yet through their media and education monopolies have been able to maintain their leftist power and money base,” he said.

Good Question

Northern California commentator Barbara Simpson told The Wanderer on November 18 that even though the marchers illegally entered over Mexico’s southern border, “Mexico allowed it and, indeed, helped them. But they don’t want to stay there and, in fact, the first contingent of them is now in Tijuana at the San Diego border, and the Mexicans are furious.

“Tijuana residents are rebelling because of the crowds, the dirt, the illegal activities, and the overcrowding,” she said. “There is name-calling and some attacks. Tijuana Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum calls the migrant arrival ‘an avalanche’ that the city can’t handle. That’s ominous since another 3,400 are expected this weekend, another 1,200 at the Mexicali border after that, followed by another 1,500 at the U.S. border after that.

“Where does that leave us, the U.S.? Good question, because the truth is that Americans can’t (and don’t want to) handle such an invasion, and if even half of those people cross our border illegally, there will be more problems than even the most dedicated liberals imagined,” Simpson said.
