WASHINGTON, D.C. — “It is with profound sadness that we must, once again, present the true facts about the dangers of contraception,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League. “It is a travesty that the national media allow Planned Parenthood and others to deceive women and cause their deaths.” (See also p. 8B.)
Brown’s comments came as American Life League revealed that its 2014 “The Pill Kills” event will be the largest it has ever run. This year’s event, featuring educational protests and prayer vigils, is scheduled to take place around the country on Saturday, June 7.
The Pill Kills National Day of Action is being cosponsored by nearly 60 organizations in 24 states. The protests and prayer vigils will take place at Planned Parenthood facilities and other venues that dispense contraceptives, like any major pharmacy or retailer with a pharmacy.
“The Pill was the lifelong dream of Margaret Sanger, developed and deployed by Planned Parenthood through its benefactors as an integral tool in the war on women and babies,” said Rita Diller, director of ALL’s The Pill Kills effort.
“While Planned Parenthood is making millions annually selling contraceptives and abortions, it spins out propaganda at a dizzying rate to convince girls and women they cannot live happy, productive lives without putting the dangerous hormonal steroids classified as Group 1 carcinogens into their bodies day after day.”
One would think that with all of the information already out there about The Pill and every other type of contraceptive, women would see through the deception and the lies. Why would any woman want to poison her body in order for some random man to have supposedly inconsequential intercourse with her?
The Pill, Depo-Provera, Gardasil, RU 486, NuvaRing, and the Plan B pill are all poisons, as Diller explained. The poisoning of women’s bodies through these contraceptives is only the least of the problems, when you take the spiritual dimension of women as God has created us into consideration.
“The headlines tell the story of women duped and suffering,” Diller continued. “Tens of thousands of women and their families are plaintiffs in lawsuits against contraceptive manufacturers. They suffered devastating, lifelong injuries, and even death from products they were told would give them the best shot at a successful life. The great majority of them were totally unaware that they faced any danger by using it.”
Contraceptives are nothing to be taken lightly. Contraception is still a poison conceived by and rooted in eugenics philosophy. A devious concept designed to cheapen the marital act and heighten the propensity for sin and eternal suffering!
Anything that puts a wedge between God’s will and human life itself is something we not only must condemn, but speak out against. The ongoing assault on human life, whether its abortion or abortion through contraception, must be addressed loudly and consistently from our pulpits and all Catholic institutions with the greatest of urgency.
In 1968, Pope Paul VI issued his landmark encyclical letter Humanae Vitae, which re-emphasized the Church’s constant teaching that it is always intrinsically wrong to use contraception to prevent new human beings from coming into existence.
Contraception is “any action which, either in anticipation of the conjugal act [sexual intercourse], or in its accomplishment, or in the development of its natural consequences, proposes, whether as an end or as a means, to render procreation impossible” (Humanae Vitae, n. 14).
The Pill Kills both body and soul; the body of a child, the body of a woman, and the body of the Church. The Pill Kills the soul of every person involved in its use, both man and woman. If we do nothing to stop the scourge of The Pill and all abortifacients, The Pill may just kill you and me as well.
So if any of you out there really want to take the truth about The Pill and other abortifacients into the streets, I recommend you do so on June 7 in your city or town. Go to the nearest contraceptive-dispensing pharmacy and stand outside on the sidewalk and share some of the handout information that you can download for free and print directly from your computer, available at ThePillKills.org, or signs and materials you can order by calling American Life League at 540-659-4171.
“We protest, pray, and educate on behalf of these girls and women who have been injured, as well as the millions who stand to be harmed from the pills if the truth is not made known. Women have horror stories to tell about contraceptives, and we intend to get the information into the hands of as many as possible,” Diller said.
To use contraception is to cheat; it is considered the easy way out. Just like diet fads, we have been trained like monkeys to want the easy way out. Do you want to lose weight? Don’t eat like a pig and do get some exercise. You don’t want to get pregnant? Don’t have sex. It really is that simple.
