PHOENIX — The news that Joe Biden’s government permanently welded open 114 floodgates in the border wall in Arizona to make certain it was even easier for illegal immigrants to pour into the United States highlighted the image of Biden making this a doormat nation that anyone can tread on.
An article posted August 21 at the New York Post said, “Each of the 114 gates in Arizona, which have been open for nearly two months, has 12-foot doors wide enough for a motorcycle to drive through. Smugglers drive busloads of migrants to the Mexican side of the border, where they get off and simply walk into the U.S.”
Damning photos accompanied the article, which said that the Grand Canyon State has surpassed Texas as the busiest crossing point for the unauthorized entrants.
“Unlike the largely South American migrants who have been nabbed crossing into Texas, the immigrants coming to Arizona are from throughout the globe, including India, Egypt and China,” the Post story said. “And unlike many South American migrants, who are typically disheveled, exhausted, and weary from a long and treacherous trek across the barren land, the migrants at Tucson look more like vacation travelers.”
Coincidentally, an opinion article in the London-based Daily Telegraph posted August 23 said Biden’s America is derided as the third term of Barack Obama because Biden staffed his administration heavily with Obama veterans — whom Biden had served alongside as Obama’s vice president.
“It is hard to imagine a U.S. presidency that could be more weak-kneed, ineffective, and destructive than the one led by Barack Obama. But this is the harsh reality with Joe Biden in power,” said the article by Nile Gardiner, a British commentator and veteran U.S. resident who is director of the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom at the Washington, D.C., based-Heritage Foundation.
The Daily Telegraph article didn’t explore Biden’s policies encouraging illegal immigration but called attention to how the U.S. was declining sharply in others’ eyes.
“Biden is widely viewed by America’s British allies as hugely incompetent, rude, hostile, and frankly out of his mind. The increasingly common view of Joe Biden in London and many European capitals is that he is an embarrassing buffoon who should be nowhere near the White House,” Gardiner wrote.
He concluded, “Barack Obama and Joe Biden share the same big-government elitist mindset, with a sneering disregard for the plight of ordinary Americans. They are two of the most arrogant and out-of-touch world leaders of the modern era. Their shameful joint legacy has been a testament to failure, despair, and American ruin.”
Nations around the world, and also tough leaders looking for weaknesses in opponents, see a befuddled U.S. president who appears ripe for the taking. Yet the U.S. technocrat-corporatist establishment seems determined to keep him in power however possible, no matter the threat to the welfare of this nation.
By way of contrast, on August 23 the world saw that Russian mercenary leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, considered to be a foe of Russian President Vladimir Putin, was among the passengers in a small jet that crashed outside Moscow. It was another instance of a bad fate befalling people considered unwelcome to Putin.
The Wanderer asked U.S. conservative commentator Quin Hillyer for his reaction on August 23. Hillyer replied, “One evil man killed another. Good riddance to the latter.”
On the other side of the globe, Biden had just made a delayed visit to Maui to express belated empathy for survivors and victims of its wildfires that wiped out the town of Lahaina and was confirmed to have killed at least 115 people, with a reported 850 people still missing, many of them children.
Remarkably, Biden decided to show his understanding of such a tragedy by repeating once again a discredited story that a house fire once had nearly cost him his wife and his residence — and oh, by the way, his beloved 1967 Corvette.
In reality it was a small kitchen flareup that firefighters quickly extinguished.
For narcissist Biden to reflect once more on his own experiences with one of his discredited tales as he attempts to express sympathy with others shows how broken his attitudes are.
In this case, it was as if he told a family that he understood how much they suffered after gangsters had killed all their extended relatives because he once got a splinter in his finger.
Biden claimed that the fire burst out while he was doing a television show in Washington, D.C., but he still managed to get home to Delaware in time and “watched the firefighters” — a timeline that critics said was impossible. “Not a joke,” the squinting Biden added.
As for the border gates welded open in Arizona, the New York Post reported: “‘Everything changed since [President Biden] took over,’ one source said. ‘This part of the border wall was built four years ago. Now we’re just letting people through. Brutal. . . . No one wants to do this. They [the migrants] commit a federal crime, we charge them, they don’t get convicted. They don’t get sent back.
“‘They get a credible-fear interview, they get an [asylum] court date years from now. We never hear anything more than that. The administration is not going to help us’.”
A Post editorial the following day, August 22, noting that an average of 1,400 people a day was entering just here, said: “This administration has revealed with finality that it simply doesn’t care how many come in illegally. Or how far across the country the crisis spreads. . . .
“Biden and his enablers have so far turned a deaf ear to these pleas, as Americans and the migrants themselves suffer unthinkably,” the Post said. “The only hope is clearly change in D.C.”

An opinion column on a different topic in the Post that was posted August 23 noted another area where left-wingers ram through their views regardless of public opinion, this time for their “religion” of “climate change” taught in schools. It’s a drastic lesson that unless the public repudiates the brainwashing, they might as well live in the old Soviet Union.
Former New York Lt. Gov. Betsy McCaughey warned of the “child abuse” caused by “climate activists . . . demanding kids hear about global warming in every subject. New Jersey mandates it, and now Connecticut is following suit as the school year opens….
“The climate push is nakedly political, spearheaded in New Jersey by the governor’s wife, First Lady Tammy Murphy, a founding member of Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project,” McCaughey wrote.
“. . . New York City holds out teen activist Greta Thunberg as a climate hero and role model, telling kids to ‘get involved in the global student climate action movement’ and ‘get to know community leaders and register to vote’,” McCaughey wrote. “Everything short of pre-enrolling kindergartners in the Democratic Party. Parents should be outraged.”
When some idea is proposed for conservatives, it seems the response is that people aren’t ready for it, that more time is needed to prepare the way. However, on the other side of the aisle, the message is to shove leftism down people’s throats, regardless.
