No Compromise When It Comes To The Preborn

By REY FLORES

“Right now, we are just trying to convince people that it is not right to abort children through the ninth month of pregnancy and that is an uphill battle in itself without having to explain to people that unborn babies conceived in rape and incest have the same right to life.”

The above message was sent via Facebook last week to my friend Rebecca Kiessling. If you aren’t familiar with Rebecca, she is one of the most powerful pro-life speakers that one would ever hope to hear.

Rebecca was conceived through rape. Her mother almost aborted her, but obviously God had other plans for both mother and baby. Rebecca was indeed born, and was raised by an adoptive family.

Today Rebecca is an attorney and the founder of Save the 1, which is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate everyone on why all preborn children should be protected by law and accepted by society, without exception and without compromise. Save the 1 works to educate pro-life advocates, leaders, and clergy on how to articulate a proper defense of children conceived in rape or incest, as well as those with special needs.

It is no wonder that Rebecca felt the need to share the ludicrous statement which I am also sharing with you to further expose how many supposedly pro-life people still treat certain human beings as if their lives did not matter.

Three things that Save the 1 teaches people is how to answer when someone asks you: What about in cases of rape and/or incest? One, we always have to put a face to the issue, and that is what Rebecca does as a public speaker who herself was conceived in rape. Two, we must never punish an innocent human being for the crime of their biological father; and three, don’t diminish, but defend.

It doesn’t get any simpler than this, folks.

One of my colleagues at American Life League created a very clever graphic that incorporated a photograph of three firemen on a ladder up against a burning building. The first fireman says, “We’re going in to save as many babies as we can!” The second fireman says “Yes, sir!” While the third fireman yells “FOR THE BABIES!!!”

On the bottom half of the graphic is the exact same photograph, but this time the third fireman responds with “But if you find any conceived in rape or incest, LEAVE ’EM!” This graphic meme sums it up perfectly.

Would we really leave children conceived in rape or incest in a burning building? Absolutely not, but we are perfectly fine with leaving those same babies to die at the hands of abortionists and laws that, as far as I’m concerned, are nothing more than facades to try to placate those of us fighting to defend all preborn babies.

The saddest part of all this is that there are those pro-life organizations and leaders, and especially the lawmakers, who justify their position by saying it’s better to save some than none. Do we really think this is a good thing? I guess one can look at both sides and say that both the incrementalists and the no-exceptions, no-compromise absolutists raise a good argument on their behalf.

It is the same with 20-week abortion bans that leave every preborn baby under 20 weeks old vulnerable to the cold metal tools, chemicals, and suction vacuums of the abortionist executioners. It comes down to either compromising or not.

Hopefully this will never happen, but, just for argument’s sake, let’s say you had a home invasion and a criminal was holding your wife and your four children hostage. In order to save your wife and kids, the criminal wanted to take just the baby. That’s a compromise; right?

Would you fight like all hell to save your entire family, or would you allow the trespasser to take one of your children in order to save the rest?

All children are God’s children and the diabolical culture of death is relentless in trying to destroy as many lives and souls as it can. When we allow any baby to be left behind, in theory or in practice, we have already struck a bargain with the Devil and perhaps already even jeopardized our souls. Now both babies and souls are lost.

Like most pro-life activists and advocates, I too am torn by this double-edged sword, but it isn’t anything like being torn apart by the abortionist’s scalpel.

I strongly encourage you to learn more about Rebecca Kiessling and about Save the 1 and the terrific work that she and they do. Visit www.SaveThe1.com.
