Petition Pope Against Sex-Ed Program

By REY FLORES

A few years back the American Life League released a fantastic video called Hooking Kids on Sex, which garnered hundreds of thousands of views. It was a video that exposed all of the vile ways in which Planned Parenthood and others introduce children and young people to all types of disordered sexual perversions. The goal, of course, is to brainwash kids into thinking that these behaviors were “perfectly normal.”

Much of what Planned Parenthood teaches is based on the 1994 book It’s Perfectly Normal: Changing Bodies, Growing Up, Sex, and Sexual Health by Robie Harris and illustrated by Michael Emberley. Page upon page of the book shows graphic illustrations of genitalia and more. Nothing is left to the imagination here, folks.

This book has been undermining the innocence of children for the last 20-plus years, and it repeats the words “it’s perfectly normal” over and over, drumming the phrase like a mantra to lead kids to believe that all of the filth promoted in this book is “perfectly normal.”

We expect pornographic trash like this to come from abortion profiteers like Planned Parenthood and their comrades at the National Education Association and the teachers unions. But now there is another entity targeting our children, offering something not as vile but still gravely erroneous.

The Pontifical Council for the Family released an offensive and inappropriate sex education program titled The Meeting Point: Course of Affective Sexual Education for Young People (see LifeSiteNews, July 27, 2016).

The Church has always maintained that parents are the primary educators of their own children, especially when it comes to matters of human sexuality and marriage. What this outrageous new Vatican-based initiative does is encourage teachers to usurp that responsibility from parents.

American Life League (www.all.org) once again has taken the lead against this kind of objectionable program by creating an online petition. I encourage you all to sign it and share it with as many Catholics as you can.

“While the new Vatican program has many positive qualities, its defects cannot be underestimated,” says the ALL petition.

Some of the defects ALL points out include:

“Handing the sexual formation of children over to educators while leaving parents out of the equation.

“Failing to name and condemn sexual behaviors, such as fornication, prostitution, adultery, contracepted-sex, homosexual activity, and masturbation, as objectively sinful actions that destroy charity in the heart and turn one away from God.”

It continues: “Failing to warn youths about the possibility of eternal separation from God (damnation) for committing grave sexual sins. Hell is not mentioned once.

“Failing to distinguish between mortal and venial sin.

“Failing to speak about the Sixth and Ninth Commandments, or any other Commandment.

“Failing to teach about the Sacrament of Confession as a way of restoring relationship with God after committing grave sin.”

All this is nothing short of scandalous and dangerous.

ALL’s list of the program’s serious defects continues: “Asking a mixed class to ‘point out where sexuality is located in boys and girls.’

“Speaking about the ‘process of arousal.’

“Using sexually explicit and suggestive images in activity workbooks.

“Recommending various sexually explicit movies as springboards for discussion.”

It gets even worse because the program colossally fails to speak about abortion as gravely wrong, but only that it causes “strong psychological damage.” It further confuses youths “by using phrases such as ‘sexual relationship’ to indicate not the sexual act, but a relationship focused on the whole person.”

The program entertains the idea that “heterosexuality” is something to be “discover[ed],” and it praises homosexual pop icon Elton John as an example of a “gifted and famous person,” failing to point out his radical “gay” activism and his so-called marriage to another man.

I realize I am not the first person to write about this pressing matter or to condemn the program, but the petition is what is really driving me to remind as many Catholics as possible to get on board and support any efforts to get this program stopped.

I cannot tell you how truly disappointing this is. While we are taught to respect our clergy and especially the Holy Father, how can we stand idly by and allow this travesty to occur?

We must fight back!

Now that a new school year has begun, I encourage any of you reading this to contact me if you know of any Catholic schools across the United States using this specific program. I am seriously curious to find out just how many schools may see nothing wrong with this program since “it comes from the Vatican.”

I must admit that upon learning of this, I felt violated and betrayed by all of it. The Church is where we seek purity and goodness, and that’s not what’s happening here.

There is absolutely no excuse for this so I implore you to immediately sign this petition found at this link: www.lifesitenews.com/petitions/withdraw-the-vaticans-new-sexed-curriculum. After signing it, share it as far and as widely as possible.
