How’s this for something to look forward to? President Donald Trump pushing a baby carriage through the streets next January, directly participating at the March for Life in Washington, D.C.
National radio talk host Laura Ingraham was so enthused by Trump’s keynote talk to the nationally active pro-life Susan B. Anthony List’s gala on May 22 that she cheered on the president’s commitment during her program the next morning.
Ingraham first envisioned him on foot joining the marchers, then quickly added pushing the baby carriage to complete the image. “Donald Trump rocked it last night. It was so great” at the gala, she said.
Catholic commentator Raymond Arroyo, who often goes on-air on Ingraham’s radio program, added that even people seated in the audience who had opposed or continue to oppose Trump joined in the applause, even if “through gritted teeth.”
While the two echoed a growing view that Trump is the most pro-life of all Republican presidents, Ingraham added a personal angle that she herself had been an unplanned pregnancy for her mother.
To those who say babies are replaceable and pretty much all alike, who would dare say that if Ingraham hadn’t been born, one of her siblings would have made the same contributions to the conservative movement as she?
Trump spoke for 36 minutes to an audience of about 800 pro-life activists and politicians at Washington, D.C.’s, National Building Museum, saluting their dedication and reminding them of the necessity to stay engaged politically for the approaching November mid-term elections.
He must have done an effective presentation because the dominant hostile media didn’t rip him apart for allegedly embarrassing himself and the presidency once again — although restrained media coverage still tended to a grudging tone, such as backhandedly describing the pro-lifers as “anti-abortion rights activists.”
Meanwhile, those media friendly to pro-lifers had plenty to publicize from the evening’s event. At least at one point, the Washington Examiner site on May 22 had six separate news items posted, including Trump calling attention to Democrat Party U.S. senators up for re-election who voted against protecting babies from late abortions.
“On this issue, like so many other issues, the Democratic Party is far outside the American mainstream. Far outside,” Trump said. “The United States is one of only seven countries in the world to allow elective abortions after 20 weeks,” then he named Democrat senatorial offenders.
With the gala, the president continued to develop his public closeness to abortion foes after addressing last January’s March for Life live from the Rose Garden on large screens, showing him surrounded by pro-lifers including babies and toddlers.
After the gala, SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser issued a May 22 news release saying in part: “The president’s keynote address to hundreds of dedicated pro-life advocates from around the country marks a watershed moment in the history of our cause. President Trump has embraced the pro-life movement as his own.
“True to his word,” Dannenfelser continued, “he is governing as the most pro-life president our nation has ever seen. He has been a fighter and a champion for unborn children, their mothers, and pro-life taxpayers, and his administration has made unprecedented gains for life.”
However, in his speech Trump noted that he’s hardly alone. “Now, for the first time since Roe v. Wade, America has a pro-life president, a pro-life vice president, a pro-life House of Representatives, and 25 pro-life Republican state capitols. That is pretty good. That is pretty good. Wow. That is pretty good,” he said.
This is so different from what radical pro-abortionists had envisioned 45 years ago. They thought Supreme Court dictators in 1973 could ram massive permissive abortion down the nation’s throat overnight, then everyone quickly would shrug and surrender.
Trump also noted his administration’s “historic” step for rules to refuse federal Title X family planning funds to health clinics involved in abortion.

Conservative GOP political consultant Constantin Querard told The Wanderer on May 23 that it’s true obtaining electoral victories is a continuing effort.
“The president is right that the mid-terms matter to the pro-life movement, but that’s because every election matters to the pro-life movement,” Querard said. “It matters who the president is, who the Senate is, and who the House is. It also matters who your governor is, your state legislator is, even your city councilperson. And it matters every time, every election.
“If you are serious about defending life, then you don’t get to take any elections off, ever. And that goes for primaries as well, where a lot of races are actually decided,” he said.
Pray A Rosary For Trump
Republican activist Rob Haney told The Wanderer on May 23 that Trump is delivering for pro-life with a new emphasis.
“For decades many establishment elected Republicans have worn the ‘pro-life’ label but have seemed to bear it as a burden,” said Haney, a Catholic and retired chairman of the Phoenix-based Maricopa County Republican Party.
“They declined to lead with the pro-life banner in the front ranks nor did they insist in including in their debates…the reasons why protecting the life of the unborn was so critical to the culture of the country and world,” he said.
“I can recall when Republican leadership in Arizona wore the pro-life label ‘except for rape and incest.’ And they were also proud to lead recruitment drives for pro-abortion women into Republican leadership,” Haney said.
“I believe that we now are blessed by divine intervention with our first outspoken president and vice president who by their actions and rhetoric lead with fervor the battle to protect our unborn children,” Haney said.
“Every night my wife and I pray the rosary for the protection and wisdom of President Trump and his administration. We pray that many other Catholics are doing the same.”
Trump emphasized to the gala the importance of victory in the mid-term elections, saying that “every day, between now and November, we must work together to elect more lawmakers who share our values, cherish our heritage, and proudly stand for life.”
He added later that “if Democrats gain power, they will try to reverse these incredible gains. These are historic gains.”
The president cautioned against being complacent because Republicans have control of both the national executive and legislative branches.
Death And Degeneracy
A look around the nation’s capital shows Democratic politicians seething with hatred. Republicans soon would rue the consequences if they lost control.
A long article at the Washington Examiner on May 22, “If Democrats win the House,” explored what that power shift could mean to the GOP.
The article quoted Maryland Democratic Cong. Jamie Raskin: “We need to impeach the entire Republican Party. We need to impeach their whole way of thinking because it’s not just about Donald Trump and Mike Pence, you have a party of enablers now.”
Strangely, although the Examiner article looked at issues like health care and infrastructure, it ignored the Democrats’ highest priorities, and what would place Americans’ consciences and lives most at risk — Democrats’ blazing dedication to imposing the culture of death and degeneracy.
It’s not potholes in roads that stir Dem leaders’ fiery passions, but the power to corrupt and command the very existence of orthodox religious believers and their families.
