Short Takes . . .

Good For You Bishop Thomas Paprocki

Bishop Thomas Paprocki should be applauded for his courage in announcing this week that Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin, who lives in his diocese, is not to be admitted to Holy Communion until he repents of his public abortion advocacy. When will his fellow bishops react in kind?

Durban of course is a longtime advocate of abortion and was one of 14 Catholic Senators who effectively voted down the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would have made most abortions after 20 weeks illegal.

Now we hear word that Sen Durbin last night received from Georgetown University an award for devoting “his life to the core Jesuit value of service to others.”  https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/georgetown-honors-pro-abortion-senator-whose-bishop-just-barred-him-from-co . Apparently that does not include the unborn. When will our so called Catholic universities remove the name Catholic from their name?

Yah Gotta Love The Left . . .

This last week Ophrah Winfrey after rumors were circulating she would run for president in 2020 said:  “I had people ― wealthy, billionaires ― calling me up and saying, ‘I can get you a billion dollars. I can run your campaign,”’ she said in a new interview with People magazine. “That many people saying something made me think, ‘Am I at least supposed to look at the question?’”

Oprah said she “went into prayer.”

″‘God, if you think I’m supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it.’ And I haven’t gotten that,” she told the magazine.

Where’s the outrage in the media?  Wasn’t Mike Pence recently derided in the media for supposedly having God speaking to him in prayer? Total Hypocrites!
