Thanks To Leftist Elitists . . . Accurate Words Have All The Brains Sucked Out Of Them

By DEXTER DUGGAN

“Today’s high temperature in New York was 1,986 degrees,” the weather talker on TV says. You allow your chilled beverage of choice to slip down onto the living-room floor. What’s the use of getting upset, you wonder. Celsius? Fahrenheit? Neither one makes any sense here.

On the wall behind the TV are dark spots from other beverages you’ve heaved on other evenings with the same skill that never allowed you to be pitcher on the pickup baseball team. If weather talker’s face were the catcher’s mitt, the mitt would have endured no scuff marks yet.

“Five thousand people dropped dead of the climate-change heat today on Manhattan streets,” weather talker continues, “while the Statue of Liberty up to the tip of her torch was submerged in 3,000 fathoms of water from melting icebergs. Thousands of polar bear skeletons were spotted from the International Space Station.”

Wait a minute! There are no streets left to crawl around and die on if the harbor is under 3,000 new fathoms of water. You cringe at the self-contradictory, insufferable, maniacal propaganda bursting from dominant media, down to the last tailored syllable.

Nothing has changed. Words still mean anything, everything, and nothing to these talkers you allow to invade your four walls. If you invite swarms of mosquitoes in, expect plenty of sore spots. With each passing day, reality recedes further.

The new year of 2019 started with harsh shocks as pro-abortion radicals suddenly began to push as never before for unlimited permissive abortion. What could get worse?

Yet as mid-year almost was here with the arrival of June, words had all the brains sucked out of them. Just like a luckless baby under radicals’ new laws that dominant media preferred not to focus on while they went howling after conservatives who’d managed to hold onto their own brains despite the most up-to-date vacuuming and washing.

Babies up to the moment of birth weren’t even babies, pregnant women weren’t even mothers. Hallucinating Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (Dem, of course, N.Y.) told Fox News host Chris Wallace that infanticide doesn’t exist.

LifeSiteNews.com reported on June 5 that after slogan-spewing pro-abortion actress Busy Phillips at a congressional hearing insisted that the abortion issue is only about “a woman’s body,” she was asked about the body of a baby who survives an abortion, such as Melissa Ohden in 1977, who also spoke at the hearing.

The clueless Phillips reportedly said she couldn’t address Ohden’s experience “because I was not there.”

The Washington Free Beacon site reported on June 5 that Ohden testified, “It’s easy to talk about women’s reproductive rights until you recognize that without first the right to life, there are no other rights. How do you reconcile my rights as a woman who survived a failed abortion with what’s being discussed here today?…

“I’m alive today because someone else’s ‘reproductive right’ failed to end my life,” the Free Beacon quoted Ohden, who said one nurse rushed her to the NICU, shouting that “she just kept gasping for breath, and so I couldn’t just leave her there to die!”

Radical Democrat pro-abortion Gov. Ralph Northam of Virginia already told us back in January that you shouldn’t rush to care for abortion survivors, though — just have a discussion about what the abortion-seeking mother wants to do now.

She probably hadn’t set up a crib back home with blankets showing lambs frolicking in a field.

Do terrible old pro-life politicians think they have the right to tell her what linens to buy and what kind of furniture for babies she has to have? As for commanding her to give her baby some kind of milk for nourishment, are these old right-wing troglodytes trying to bring the world to an end?

Oops, ending one’s world is a job for the abortionists.

The Free Beacon on June 5 also reported testimony by Christina Bennett, director of communications at the Family Institute of Connecticut, who reportedly said her unmarried mother had been pressured to abort her, but made a last-minute decision not to.

The article quoted Bennett: “As a pro-life feminist, I support bodily autonomy. But abortion impacts two bodies. I am a unique individual — and just as my heart is beating today, it was beating inside of my mother’s body.”

Pro-abortionists piteously prefer to squirm away from facts and try to talk about anything else, like maybe even the soul entering the body. They say pro-lifers just make a religious appeal, but the guys with the suction machines, knives, and bone-breakers want to divert debate toward unseen spirits.

The Free Beacon reported on June 4 that Cong. Kim Schrier (Dem, of course, Wash.) said that pro-lifers with their heartbeat bills “conflate a heartbeat with a soul or with personhood.”

Looking to divert, Schrier preferred to talk about “a single heart cell, a myocardial cell, in a petri dish in a lab at the University of Washington that will beat” — which isn’t what heartbeat bills address.

Incredibly, the UN high commissioner for human rights, Kate Gilmore, dug her heels deeper in fantasy land as she attacked U.S. states enacting restrictions of permissive abortion, claiming that permissive abortion is merely “health” and that all the weight of science on the side of pro-lifers isn’t scientific.

The Washington Examiner on June 5 quoted her telling the UK Guardian: “We have not called it out in the same way we have other forms of extremist hate, but this is gender-based violence against women, no question. It’s clear it’s torture — it’s a deprivation of a right to health.”

Gilmore waved away centuries of the development of expanding scientific knowledge as demonstrated these days in real-time 4D ultrasound. In language unmoored from the slightest connection to reality, Gilmore airily said pro-life laws are “an assault on truth, science and universal values and norms. You’re entitled to your own opinion, but you’re not entitled to your own facts.”

How do these elitists ever hope to get away with such arrogant, anti-scientific nonsense?

Conservative commentator Quin Hillyer was among those blowing the whistle on recent instructions by National Public Radio on how its reporters are to cover the issue, including insisting there’s no baby before birth.

Said NPR, according to Hillyer: “The term ‘unborn’ implies that there is a baby inside a pregnant woman, not a fetus. Babies are not babies until they are born. They’re fetuses. Incorrectly calling a fetus a ‘baby’ or ‘the unborn’ is part of the strategy used by anti-abortion groups to shift language/legality/public opinion.”

“So,” Hillyer said, “NPR doesn’t know where babies come from — they just appear upon birth.”

Another pressing issue where dominant media insist on redefining language and facts is massive illegal immigration, with more than a million more new illegal immigrants apparently headed to jump the line into the U.S. within a year.

When dominant media can’t ignore this invasion, they try to recast them as “migrants” claiming their rights, although inexcusably being hampered by “racists” like Donald Trump.

Now, if Americans who believe in obeying immigration law chose to treat these arrivals as abortionists treat babies, they’d simply end all their lives and denounce those who disagree. However, the compassionate answer is to reform the aliens’ own lands, just as problem pregnancies need answers, not death.

NBC News reported on June 5, “Border Patrol officers encountered more than 144,000 undocumented immigrants at the southwest border in May, the largest monthly total in 13 years, officials said,” with May being the third month in a row that more 100,000 illegal aliens at the border were apprehended, with many coming from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.

The TV network quoted Customs and Border Protection acting Commissioner John Sanders, “We are in a full-blown emergency, and I cannot say this stronger: The system is broken.”

The Washington Examiner reported on May 30 that “a caravan-sized group of more than 1,000 people” had just been taken into federal custody in western Texas.

“Agents encountered 1,036 people, primarily from Central America, near El Paso, Texas….The arrest marks the largest group of unauthorized immigrants that Border Patrol has ever taken into custody at once,” the Examiner said.

Helping to illustrate the leftist mindset that illegal aliens rightfully can claim unlimited assets from U.S. taxpayers, the Washington Post’s website sported this alarmed page one headline on June 5: “HHS cancels English classes, legal aid for unaccompanied child migrants in shelters.”

The paragraph below said: “In an email obtained by the Post, U.S. officials said the program is running out of money. The move could run afoul of a court settlement and state licensing requirements that mandate education and recreation for minors in custody.”

Not to mention Democrat dreams of troves of new votes by unauthorized entrants in order to steal elections ever after. Whatever else political consultants plan, the payoff campaign strategy is to import millions more foreign voters.

The Sacred Heart

At a time when so many other certitudes are mocked and declared inadmissible, Bishop Thomas J. Tobin, head of the Diocese of Providence, stirred up the hornets when he tweeted a simple note for Catholic spiritual welfare on June 1.

“A reminder that Catholics should not support or attend LGBTQ ‘Pride Month’ events held in June,” Tobin said. “They promote a culture and encourage activities that are contrary to Catholic faith and morals. They are especially harmful for children.”

LifeSiteNews.com reported on June 4 that in just one day, more than 13,500 signatures supporting Tobin had been gathered by an online petition “after he was recently smeared by mainstream media” for his June 1 tweet.

The pro-life news service said the petition said: “We appreciate you, as a religious leader, speaking out against ‘Pride’ month, and defending Christian Catholic teaching. Thank you, especially, for reminding all Christians that these events promote a ‘culture’ and activities which are against Christ’s teaching, and against the morals of anyone trying to live as a good Christian.”

For Catholics, the news service pointed out, June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
