The Coyotes Help People. Please Give

February 9, 2023 Frontpage No Comments

By CHRISTOPHER MANION

The message sounded routine — at first.
“Hello team please see the message below regarding your consideration for an urgent matter to support one of our own students here at Mount.”
Suddenly, it got interesting:
“We have a student who came to America with ‘Coyote’ which is a group that helps people. This group gives you a timeframe to make a payment of $5,000 to those, who bring them into the states.”
Then, highlighted: “Our student needs our urgent support to raise another $2,000 to meet his goal of $5,000 by February 1, 2023. Please, considering helping if you can by donating on Friday.
“Melania will be around to collect money between eight-8:45 a.m.
“(Signed) Stefani Harvey, Ed.D. (she/her/hers), Assistant Principal, Mount Pleasant High School”

Translation, Please

In my decades of volunteering for law enforcement, I’ve translated for members of some pretty violent Hispanic gangs. However, this is the first time I’ve ever had to translate for someone who has three degrees from education schools.
Let’s call Dr. Harvey’s student “Carlos.” Here’s what she wrote, in plain English, about his problem:
“Listen, folks, we’re in trouble. We’re harboring an illegal alien. Carlos ditched his Coyote smugglers north of El Paso and Catholic Charities shipped him to his cousin’s here in Providence.
“Well, the Cartel caught up with Carlos, and he still owes them two thousand bucks. He has to have the money by next Wednesday or they’ll kill him. Don’t call the police or they’ll deport him to Honduras — and the Coyotes will kill him there. If Carlos disappears, they’ll kill his parents and sell his sister to Middle Eastern sex traffickers. So please be very nice to Melanie when she comes around Friday morning.”
When we contacted the school, the district superintendent’s office, and the police, they all had no comment.
According to news accounts, the principal of Mount Pleasant High later sent an email to all faculty and staff who had received Dr. Harvey’s email. “The nature of the request is not appropriate,” he wrote.
But the question remains: What would explain Dr. Harvey’s passing the hat for the Coyote Cartels?
Well, here’s her bio on the UMass-Boston website, where she is an “Instructor in Education”:
“Dr. Stefani Harvey is a community activist and educator who specializes in social justice and equity in education, particularly in addressing disparities for youth of color…Dr. Harvey has been able to connect with the youth through motivational speaking, youth conferences, and her relentless work and support with LGBTQ self-identified youth.”
Maybe Dr. Harvey’s heartfelt note merely reflects her desire to save Carlos from a violent death. But it reveals a lot more.
The threatened student “came to America with ‘Coyote,’ which is a group that helps people,” she writes. Under the cover of the devoted community organizer, she’s raising serious money to pay off the local drug-dealing, child-and-sex trafficking, and extortion gang. They’re all part of the international Coyote Criminal Cartel Syndicate that pulls in billions a year on both sides of the border. They specialize in kidnapping, trafficking in illegal aliens and prostitution, money laundering, guns, and drugs that kill 100,000 Americans a year.
All in the name of Dr. Harvey’s “social justice and equity” — no questions asked.
Please give.

Enter St. Josephine Bakhita

“The Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and the International Union of Superiors General has designated February 8 as an annual day of prayer and awareness against human trafficking. February 8 is the Feast Day of St. Josephine Bakhita, who was kidnapped as a child and sold into slavery in Sudan and Italy. Once Josephine was freed, she became a Canossian nun and dedicated her life to sharing her testament of deliverance from slavery and comforting the poor and suffering. She was declared a Saint in 2000.”
“On February 8,” the announcement continued, “Catholics all over the world, are encouraged to host or attend prayer services to create greater awareness about this phenomenon. Through prayer, we not only reflect on the experiences of those that have suffered through this affront to human dignity, but also comfort, strengthen, and help empower survivors.”
Last month, The Wanderer reported that, in his first and only visit to the border, Joe Biden got a Potemkin tour of El Paso. He never saw an illegal alien, because thousands of them had been cleansed from every site on his itinerary that day. Two weeks before, Biden had proclaimed January as “National Human Trafficking Prevention Month.” In El Paso, he never mentioned the Coyote Trafficker Cartels. He didn’t want to hear about them either: Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott was barred from the tour by White House staff. So was Republican Cong. Tony Gonzales, whose district begins in El Paso and includes hundreds of miles of the border with Mexico.
A month later we see an instant replay, Catholic style: In anticipation of the Feast Day of St. Josephine Bakhita, The Wanderer contacted bishops’ conferences in every border state with a simple request: “Please be so kind as to provide any public statements by (your state’s) bishop(s) addressing the Cartels.”
The vicar general of one state conference replied, “I don’t know of any in particular. Good luck with your work.”
The others did not reply.

Confronting The
Coyote Conundrum

America’s hierarchy approaches immigration in the same spirit as Dr. Harvey. Their secular NGO’s work with “Coyote, which is a group that helps people.” The Cartels might be killing tens of thousands of Americans a year with their Fentanyl drug trade alone, but so what? They deliver to the border millions of illegal aliens a year, each of whom pays the same fee as Carlos — $5000 — if not more.
And who’s waiting at the border to send Carlos to Providence? Catholic Charities.
But wait — our bishops want to “create greater awareness about this phenomenon.” Well, who among us could possibly have “greater awareness” than the USCCB’s NGOs? Every day they process the illegals and send them to unsuspecting communities like Providence all over the United States.
Yes, it’s true, the USCCB does receive hundreds of millions in taxpayer funding for its secular NGOs, but so what? Didn’t our shepherds go to bishops’ school? Didn’t the “Principal” there tell them that their silent partnership with the Coyote Cartels is “not appropriate”?
It’s especially disappointing that no Texas bishop, however orthodox, will condemn the Coyotes. In fact, we haven’t found one Catholic bishop in America who will.
The Coyote Cartels herd the illegals like cattle as they cross the Mexican desert. Each client pays them for protection from — guess who? — the Cartels!
But all too often, the Cartels don’t deliver. They also abuse, rob, rape, and even abandon many of their clients along the way — after they’ve paid, of course.
And yet our bishops cannot bring themselves to condemn them. Yes, their NGOs depend on the steady stream of immigrants, but it’s not just for the money. They also long to achieve the “Next America” that Los Angeles Archbishop José Gomez proclaimed in 2012. “The vast majority of [Hispanic immigrants] believe in Jesus Christ and love our Catholic Church,” Archbishop Gomez said. “They share traditional American values of faith, family and community. That is why I believe our immigrant brothers and sisters are the key to American renewal.”
So, filling the pews, and the country, with Hispanics in the Next America will overcome the “nativism,” “racism,” “bigotry,” and “xenophobia” which our shepherds find to prevail in the America they have now.
So, they just can’t bring themselves to condemn the Coyote Criminal Cartels.
And curiously, most of them cannot bring themselves to condemn Joe Biden either.

Now more than ever, vehicles like The Wanderer are needed for clarification and guidance on the issues of the day.

Catholic, conservative, orthodox, and loyal to the Magisterium have been this journal’s hallmarks for five generations. God willing, our message will continue well into this century and beyond.

Abortion Advocates No Longer Consider It “A Necessary Evil,” They Celebrate Killing Babies

Last week, Kamala Harris became the first vice president in U.S. history to make a public visit to an abortion clinic.
