The Day We Saved America

By REY FLORES

While the only true savior we have is Jesus Christ, this Election Day in America we witnessed a nation save itself from what seemed to be its own demise.

Our country is still on a trajectory of evil. Marriage and families were being redefined by our corrupt government and people were actually being persecuted if they defied these dictatorial mandates that infringed on our faith and on our religious freedom.

In our public schools and at some major retailers, genders were being redefined as well. Our species went from what God created, male and female, to what man invented — almost 60 new gender identities to suit any deranged mind’s fancy.

Facebook is a problem for many reasons, but the Internet giant now allows its online users to choose from nearly 60 identities like: agender, cisgender, bigender, gender-fluid, gender non-conforming, gender questioning, transfeminine, transmasculine, non-binary, and two-spirit.

Even after the world watched in horror at the David Daleiden undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood — as not only a killing field for profit, but also as a purveyor and merchant of human baby body parts sold to the highest bidders — Planned Parenthood continued with business as usual.

Our nation became, and still is, a cesspool of radical and evil social engineering designed to kill all that is beautiful in this world. As we know, this is not God’s kingdom, but the kingdom of the first fallen angel. The attacks against women, men, traditional marriage, and family come from all directions.

Let’s say that a woman’s womb, particularly Mary’s womb, is one of the most sacred places God created. Jesus is the fruit of Mary’s womb. I’ve heard it said that a woman’s womb is like that tabernacle which contains life itself, made in His image and likeness.

Pregnancy is an affront to evil because it is the ultimate expression of life, God, and love. Abortion, adultery, pornography, lust, selfishness, and contraception are the antitheses to all three.

When we abort a baby, it’s almost like killing God Himself. When a woman is raped and sexually assaulted, it is the defiling of that tabernacle. When we view or use pornography for gratification, we violate that respect toward one of God’s most sacred creations.

When we use contraception, we are telling God that we know better than He does regarding the purpose of our own sexuality. We have eaten of that tree of knowledge and therefore have been cast out of the paradise of God’s truth.

This is the culture of death which I pray and hope we can turn around with a new president and new leadership for our nation. Say what you will about Trump — I assure you that no presidential race has ever had so many people praying for this outcome. No presidential candidate has ever had so many people praying for him and his victory to the White House.

Like I said, our true Savior is Jesus, but on this Earth God assigns men and women and sometimes even children to guide us, to nurture us, to teach us, or to protect us. I believe that God has given us a reprieve with a Trump win and a Hillary Clinton loss.

The praying, however, must not stop and Donald Trump will also need us to hold him accountable for the many promises he made during his campaign. Trump will need the American people to help guide him in the defense of the innocent unborn babies.

We need to educate and guide Trump in the importance of traditional marriage and religious freedom, so that we aren’t forced to violate our beliefs or be kept from freely performing any of our religious practices.

On this Election Day, I made sure I was going to do everything I could to help save our country from a Clinton dictatorship.

While I had my fears of a stolen election, there seemed to be a peace about the air and the atmosphere as I stood outside the polling place on Election Day, handing out Republican Party sample ballots to all who came to vote.

One of my fellow volunteers brought her six children with her. I thought at first that the children would quickly become bored and start asking their mom when they could leave. I made that assumption based on my own kids, who sometimes get squirrely at things like this.

I was wrong. These children were truly a blessing on this beautiful fall day. I would bet money that because of these kids, many of the voters who interacted with them, who were either undecided or pro-Clinton voters, changed their vote instead for Donald Trump. I am confident in my belief that this truly did happen multiple times.

At one slow lull while the kids were eating a snack or throwing a football around, I looked up to see Old Glory at the top of the nearby flagpole. I then looked down to the little guy named Elijah and said to him, “Today is the day we helped save America,” and I gave him my red “Make America Great Again” baseball cap.

The look on that kid’s face was priceless. While I lament somewhat not having had my own kids as part of this historic day at the polls, I hope that this little boy and his siblings remember that they helped save our nation on this day.

Their mother was beaming like a proud mother duck watching her little ducklings interact with voters, including some occasional rude liberal voters. I told the children to not take those people’s poor attitudes personally, and that we should pray for them instead.

I am very happy to have written this column instead of the one I might have had to write about a Clinton nightmare presidency.

Remember, it’s not over: Donald Trump does not just wave a magic wand and all will be right with America again. We must pray for him and work with him to make sure he keeps many of his promises to the American people.

God bless America indeed.
