The Government Is Crazy

By BARBARA SIMPSON

There are so many instances of government craziness that it’s hard to know where to begin.

It’s a reflection of the mixed feelings Americans have about the actions of their government and its agencies. Much of those feelings depend on the political beliefs of those citizens. Some trust the government completely and others have nothing but disapproval for anything it does.

While the headlines have been filled with the abortion ruling, there are other government actions that are almost ignored — but, in my view, shouldn’t be.

How about this? Shortly after the Supreme Court decision striking Roe v. Wade, the White House responded by promoting a website advising children how to hide their abortions from their parents.

Not a joke. As reported in Breitbart: The Department of Health and Human Services issued a press release, advising: “If you need information on your state’s laws or legal help, you may consider this website” — and it gave the address. The White House supported this information.

According to the site, “If you need to avoid involving a parent or guardian, contact the If/When/How Judicial Bypass Helpline for information about getting a judicial bypass.”

It seems the site was put together by abortion supporters who want to make it easier for people to get the abortions they desire — regardless of the law.

What I find reprehensible is that this site got the support of the White House — our government — advising children on how to break the law.

I might add that one of the organizations supporting the website is Planned Parenthood.

President Biden — where are you???

Another news story that was in the headlines recently was the terrible incident involving the trailer truck loaded with illegal aliens who died — as they were hoping to get into the United States undetected. The 51 who died, as well as those still under medical care, are victims of a federal government that will not fully support the Border Patrol in its job.

The agency admits it does not have the manpower to inspect every vehicle that attempts to cross the border, yet nothing is done about it. That decision must come from Washington, but it doesn’t.

In fact, agents are warned not to enforce immigration laws or attempt to arrest migrants near waterways, walls, canals, or other barriers. It also warns agents against attempts to encourage the migrants to return to Mexico.

Does any of this make sense?

John Binder in Breitbart revealed that the Department of Homeland Security released over 95,000 border crossers and illegal aliens into the interior of the United States — that’s a population four times the size of Key West, Fla.

This release is part of the Biden administration’s “catch and release” program that flies and buses foreign nationals (read: “illegal aliens”) into the U.S. Interior. In April, it released 118,000 illegals and in March, more than 80,000 illegals into the U.S.

These figures do not include the hundreds of thousands of illegals who entered the country undetected, or the tens of thousands of “Unaccompanied Alien Children” the feds resettle every month.

It’s estimated there are up to 22 million illegals living in the country with some 8 million taking American jobs and costing American taxpayers some $143 billion every year.

Does our government care? How would we know?

Here’s another crazy:

While the Second Amendment clearly states that we have the right to bear arms, the state of New York denied concealed-carry permits to citizens who did not have a “good reason” to carry a gun.

The liberal politicians who supported this law are furious that the Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision in New York State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Brown — struck it down.

What it means is that law-abiding citizens now can legally defend themselves. Finally! Common sense rules.

And speaking of guns – California, which maintains a record of the people who own guns in the state, also has a full record of those with concealed-carry permits — name, address, date of birth and date their concealed weapon permit was issued.

It is all supposed to be private. . . .

But now it isn’t. According to the State Attorney General Rob Bonta, the private information on thousands of gun-owners was released in what is called a “major breach of privacy.”

Nearly 3,000 people in Los Angeles alone had their private information released — a list of people that includes judges and police as well as average citizens.

According to The Blaze, gun rights activists along with the California Rifle & Pistol Association blasted the data breach and are considering legal action against the state.

I hope they do!

And here’s another crazy — the move to weaken our citizenship!

The city of New York had a law that allows non-citizens to vote, but only in city elections. It was approved last December and allowed legal residents in the city for at least 30 days, including those with green cards and DACA recipients, to vote.

The City Council passed the bill but neither Mayor Bill de Blasio nor Mayor Eric Adams signed it. It was deemed adopted after 30 days without a signature.

But then after a suit filed by the Republican National Committee, the New York Republican Party and a number of city council members — the State Supreme Court struck down the law, ruling that it violated the state constitution.

So now at least, non-citizens cannot vote in New York.

And speaking of non-citizens — California strikes again!

It has become the first state in the country to give food stamps to illegal aliens. It’s the result of a deal with Gov. Gavin Newsom and Democrats in the legislature to provide the assistance to illegals 55 and older.

It’s reported the expansion of the food stamp program will cost California taxpayers more than $35 million annually and it’s expected that about 75,000 illegal aliens will enroll every year.

As reported in Breitbart, Newsom’s budget deal also ensures that the state is the first in the country to provide taxpayer-funded health insurance to all of its 3.3 million illegals. It would be the largest in the country and will cost California taxpayers about $2.4 billion annually. The plan is scheduled to begin in 2024.

It’s another example of the government spending the money of taxpayers without their consent.

Anyone want to move to California???
