While we are once again distracted by the USCCB’s annual and troublesome Operation Rice Bowl, secular political operatives are running around parishes throughout the country corralling Catholics into voting for political candidates and agendas that defy the Catholic faith.
In the latest reports coming into my inbox, we have the always troubling Pax Christi up to its usual shenanigans in Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C.
Here is exactly what one fellow Catholic shared with me in her reaction to the Pax Christi infiltration:
“I can’t even begin to tell you how stunned I was to know, almost instantly, that my life, my entire life and that of my family, would from that moment on be forever changed. It is not easy to be completely and totally wrapped up in the life of a parish and then to suddenly, by conscious choice, not circumstance, decide to walk away from it.
“But we all did. As soon as I explained the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) to my husband and our grown children, it was as plain to them as it was to me that this [parish] was in bed with an organization we wanted nothing to do with.
“Initially, I tried to convince my pastor that he was mixed up with things that weren’t good for our Church, but almost immediately I was given the impression that he felt I was the problem. And subsequently, I was isolated from other parishioners who were told by the pastor that I should be totally ignored.
“In one of his notes to me he said this: ‘You are a good person and certainly well-intentioned but I think your view of right and wrong is very limited by some of the materials you are passing on to me. I do not want them anymore, I have enough legitimate things to read and will not espouse the ideas you are sending me by giving time towards reading them. They upset me rather than educate me because I find them so cold-hearted and self-righteous in their approach.’
“After that, I saw no reason whatsoever to continue going to that church. To stay would appease and condone what we knew was not right. We could not toss one more nickel in the plate there, knowing where it would be spent. Neither could I accept that I was a cold-hearted self-righteous person because I didn’t go along with his methods.
“Other things in my life up to now have kept me from doing what I know I need to do, but reading what you wrote about Baton Rouge has given me tremendous inspiration to pick up the cause to rid our churches of this evil.
“We are now in a wonderful traditional parish, St. Veronica in Chantilly, Va., [that] we might never otherwise have gone to, so even in this turmoil, God has done good things for my family. The altar servers are boys in white surplices who genuflect in unison as the tabernacle is closed, an act that nearly always causes me to tear up in grateful joy that I’ve been led to this faithful church.”
As I have written recently in this newspaper, many priests and bishops continue to ignore concerns like the one I just shared with you.
Here’s something from the Diocese of Las Vegas, Nevada.
A readers points to a video “showing the IAF helping to conduct a city-wide ecumenical meeting of various Christian, Jewish, and Muslim groups to focus on political actions that will help their cause for: Nevadans for the Common Good. Which is the name for this group’s action committee….
“I personally attended one of two [Nevadans for the Common Good] meetings in February at my parish St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Parish, in Las Vegas, where the meeting was partially led by…a paid organizer for the IAF. I made it a point to introduce myself to him after the meeting but did not raise any questions about the night’s affairs or quiz him about his work.
“The fact that there were only 24 persons in attendance, with two people, a younger man and an older woman, who were activists within the parish and definitely liberal in their understanding of the Church and her teachings….There were no ‘clergy’ of any description in attendance at this meeting. There was, however, an activist nun, . . . whom I met 24 years ago when she was in charge of RENEW in our diocese, underwritten by our then bishop, Bishop Daniel Walsh, now retired from the Santa Rosa, Calif., Diocese.”
Again and again, I am hearing stories like these that just make me wonder why there isn’t a clean sweep of the entire Catholic Church in America to rid our parishes of outside secular infiltrators that simply want to use us and exploit us for their own secularist and anti-Catholic agendas.
