Hundreds of Pro-Lifers . . . Protest New Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz In California

FONTANA, Calif. (LifeNews) — Hundreds of people in Fontana, Calif., marched in protest June 2 against plans to open an abortion facility in their community.

Holding signs in English and Spanish, the pro-life residents urged their community to “Pray to end abortion,” “Protect the unborn child,” and “In a war against children, have courage, choose love, choose life,” the Fontana Herald News reports.

The peaceful protest took place after residents learned that Planned Parenthood is preparing to open a new abortion facility on the corner of Sierra and San Bernardino Avenues, according to the report. The billion-dollar abortion chain already operates three other facilities in San Bernardino County, but a spokeswoman told the newspaper that Fontana is “medically underserved.”

“It is unfortunate this group has chosen to protest a health-care facility that would bring significant benefits to their own community,” Planned Parenthood said in a statement.

But two post-abortive women who shared their testimonies at the protest said killing unborn babies does not help anyone.

“I regret [my abortions] severely,” said Kimberly Chavez, a Fontana resident who helped to organize the event. “I know that I’m forgiven and set free, and I just want to prevent them from happening to any other young women who might be facing a choice.”

Chavez said her church, Bethel Christian Fellowship, runs a support group that helps moms in need, according to the newspaper.

“We would love to have anyone in a crisis pregnancy talk to us, so that we can show them support and help them with their physical needs as well as their spiritual needs,” she said.

Another post-abortive mother, Anna Tran, said she would not have gone through with the abortion if she had known that there were pro-lifers willing to support her and her child.

“Now that I know better, I would never murder my child, because they’re innocent,” Tran said. “We should be the voice for the voiceless at all times and educate people about what resources we have available, so that they don’t end their precious babies’ lives.”

It is not clear when Planned Parenthood wants to open the new abortion facility or if city leaders will try to stop it. According to the local news, the project is still in the early planning stages, and city communications and marketing manager Monique Carter said it is “currently under staff review.”

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion chain in America. Its most recent annual report showed approximately $1.7 billion in revenue and more than 370,000 abortions. The abortion chain also receives more than half a billion dollars in taxpayer funding annually, despite its abortion practice and numerous scandals, including allegations of the sales of aborted baby body parts, botched abortions, racial and pregnancy discrimination, sexual abuse cover-ups, Medicaid fraud, and more.
