Fr. Frank Pavone is the founder of Priests for Life. March 28, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) – I was privileged to have many encounters and conversations with Mother Angelica over the last 21 years. One of my first meetings with her, and one that greatly advanced my own apostolate of Priests for Life was when in 1994, after she had interviewed me on her live show the previous evening, she sat with me in her office and we discussed the abortion issue in the church and in the world. I explained to her that the work that I had undertaken on a full-time basis came about not from Cardinal O’Connor approaching me, but from me approaching him with the conviction of conscience…Continue Reading

“AND when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalen, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought sweet spices, that coming, they might anoint Jesus. 2And very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they come to the sepulchre, the sun being now risen. And they said one to another: Who shall roll us back the stone from the door of the sepulchre? And looking, they saw the stone rolled back. For it was very great. And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed with a white robe: and they were astonished. Who saith to them: Be not affrighted; you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he is…Continue Reading

In his homily the Pope reflected on the actions of Peter who ran to Jesus’ tomb on the first Easter morning. Even though he, like the other disciples, had not believed the testimony of the women who had already found the empty grave, the Pope noted that Peter was not overwhelmed by doubt or consumed by remorse. Listen: Like the women who had gone to bury the body, the Pope said, Peter did not give into sadness and darkness but allowed the light of God to enter his heart. Like…Continue Reading

The Disturbing Fact of the Resurrection

Zenit.org Bishop Robert Barron• “If Jesus was not raised from death, Christianity is a fraud and a joke; if he did rise from death, then Christianity is the fullness of God’s revelation, and Jesus must be the absolute center of our lives. There is no third option” The resurrection of Jesus from the dead is the be-all and the end-all of the Christian faith. If Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, all bishops, priests, and Christian ministers should go home and get honest jobs, and all the Christian faithful should leave their churches immediately. As Paul himself put it: “If Jesus is not raised from the dead, our preaching is in vain and we are the most pitiable of men.”…Continue Reading
