Evil Is As Evil Does

By REY FLORES

It’s no accident that Glamour magazine has named Bruce Jenner as the Woman of the Year. This is the latest step in normalizing the abnormal.
What Glamour magazine has done is introduce what could be the next big thing in so-called women’s magazines. Who would have ever thought of a woman’s magazine for men who think they’re women? There is a market for it, a very small market at that, but we might someday see something like a Trans-Glamour magazine in the racks at your local grocery store.
People can’t seem to get enough of this freakish sideshow.
They used to say that sex sells, but apparently what sells now is absolute insanity. Of course the insanity must be titillating and perverse. What we are doing as a society now is catering to the most depraved of tastes and mainstreaming it to America, much in the same way that Playboy did with pornography in the late 1950s.
Thanks also to the Internet, we can satiate our desire for any kind of sexual perversion that blackened hearts desire. Now we are removing any shame associated with consuming this kind of filth: “Don’t judge me!”
One would think that all of the radical feminists would be protesting the fact that a major women’s magazine was naming a man as the “Woman of the Year,” but that doesn’t seem to be happening.
Please forgive me if anything that follows is explicit, but, as I’ve told people, as a writer, I am like the garbageman of the cultural wasteland. Allow me to wallow in the societal trash heap so you don’t have to.
What I want to do is show you how we can connect the dots of sin. One sin leads to another, and then another and so on. It’s committing the venial sins that greases the skids for mortal sins to quickly become part of our lives. Once we get the ball rolling, unless we take concrete steps to stop it, the slippery slope will lead us straight to you-know-where.
Our children aren’t safe anymore in public. We can’t even take them to the dentist without some copy of People, Time, Newsweek and other mainstream publications assaulting us and our families with the latest garbage from Hollywood or Washington, D.C.
Many of us have become desensitized to violence because of movies we’ve watched or more recently because of the brutal ISIS videos that have gone viral on the Internet, showing how our Christian brothers are systemically being slaughtered in full color.
And by allowing all this transgendered homosexual propaganda into mainstream media, we’re also becoming desensitized to these sins.
In 1989, serial killer Ted Bundy was interviewed by Dr. James Dobson the day before he was executed. Bundy shared an important message during the interview that he felt would help explain how he became the person who ended up raping, torturing, and murdering dozens of women during his killing sprees.
Bundy told Dobson that it was pornography that led him down a path of sexual disorder of perversion and murder. The more hardcore and violent the pornography, the deeper the tilling of the soil and planting of the evil seeds in his mind became. It was a journey he began from which there was no coming back.
While I have written about the dangers of pornography before, I felt compelled to write about the subject again after reading a recent news item about a Georgia woman who was arrested after allegedly having a booze and marijuana fueled sex party with her teenaged daughter and her friends. The woman had sexual relations with a couple of teenaged boys. According to the news story, the woman’s Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor said that she described herself as a “sexual deviant and addicted to pornography.”
So this woman is not only dealing with the vice of pornography but she is also an alcoholic. Ted Bundy also spoke about the “monster that took possession of him when he had been drinking” before committing his horrific crimes.
So what is it about sexual deviancy and substance abuse and addiction that ensnares so many a soul? If one wasn’t bad enough, the combination of the two is morally and spiritually lethal.
Another news item came across my desk was about a 30-year-old former teacher who was just sentenced to 22 years of incarceration for having sexual relations with three of her students on many occasions. It is also reported that this woman became pregnant at one point and aborted the baby she and one of the students apparently conceived.
OK. So now we have alcoholism, disordered sexuality, and now abortion to top things off. Like I said, one sin leads to another and so forth.
“What are the remedies to all of this, Mr. Flores?” you ask.
I don’t know. Aside from spending as much time praying, especially in front of the Blessed Sacrament, I don’t know what else to tell you.
It’s like we are living in a global-sized Hamelin, but instead of the town being overrun by rats, we are overrun by demons.
Their invisibility is what makes these demons that much more destructive. How can we fear something we cannot see? For evil is as evil does and before we realize or acknowledge it, we are again mired in our habitual sins and some newly found ones.
There is no depth to depravity. Like numbers, evil is infinite, it can go on forever. There is never a low that can be too low; someone is bound to find a new bottom to reach.
Pray and prepare constantly for help against the spiritual attacks that confront us every single day of our lives.
I remind you again: Pray as if your soul depended on it because it truly does.

Now more than ever, vehicles like The Wanderer are needed for clarification and guidance on the issues of the day.

Catholic, conservative, orthodox, and loyal to the Magisterium have been this journal’s hallmarks for five generations. God willing, our message will continue well into this century and beyond.

Is Easter being replaced with the ‘Transgender Day of Visibility’?

Two observances — Easter and the recently contrived “International Transgender Day of Visibility” — fall on Sunday, March 31 this year, causing some to wonder “Is Easter being replaced with the ‘Transgender Day of Visibility?’” It’s a valid question. Abortion Advocates No Longer Consider It “A Necessary Evil,” They Celebrate Killing Babies

Last week, Kamala Harris became the first vice president in U.S. history to make a public visit to an abortion clinic.
