U.S. Catholics Under Attack

October 17, 2016 breaking Comments Off on U.S. Catholics Under Attack

WikiLeaks did it again with another e-mail release, 1,200 of them, and this time exposing the deliberate attempts by the Clinton campaign to disrupt, undermine and, yes, try to destroy the Catholic Church. Their intent was (is) to plant the “seeds of the revolution” within the institution. Among the e-mails are communications between Clinton operatives that are clearly filled with bigotry. If anyone had any doubt that Hillary Clinton and the people around her have no regard for any kind of religious tradition in this country, this latest expose should erase that. We know they don’t like anyone who adheres to any religion. Jews are constant targets, as are Christians of all stripes – unless of course they’re of a…Continue Reading

Fake Catholic Groups and the “Catholic Spring” Emails

October 15, 2016 breaking Comments Off on Fake Catholic Groups and the “Catholic Spring” Emails

It is now impossible to deny that Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good and Catholics United have worked for years to undermine and manipulate Catholic leadership Beginning in 2007, orthodox Catholic writers including myself wrote dozens of articles in an attempt to expose the funding and duplicitousness of two fake Catholic groups: the George Soros-funded Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good and Catholics United. (For example, see here and here and here.) Now, with the release of the leaked emails this week from longtime Democratic Party operative and current Clinton campaign chair, John Podesta, there is confirmation that Podesta personally helped to launch these two progressive groups to infiltrate the Catholic Church in an attempt to provide a…Continue Reading

Archbishop Chaput’s Weekly Column: About Those Unthinking, Backward Catholics

October 14, 2016 breaking Comments Off on Archbishop Chaput’s Weekly Column: About Those Unthinking, Backward Catholics

Back in 2008, in the weeks leading up to the Obama-McCain presidential election, two young men visited me in Denver.  They were from Catholics United, a group describing itself as committed to social justice issues.  They voiced great concern at the manipulative skill of Catholic agents for the Republican Party.  And they hoped my brother bishops and I would resist identifying the Church with single-issue and partisan (read: abortion) politics. It was an interesting experience.  Both men were obvious flacks for the Obama campaign and the Democratic Party — creatures of a political machine, not men of the Church; less concerned with Catholic teaching than with its influence.  And presumably (for them) bishops were dumb enough to be used as…Continue Reading

Clinton campaign chair worked to create liberal Catholic revolt against bishops: leaked e-mails

October 12, 2016 breaking Comments Off on Clinton campaign chair worked to create liberal Catholic revolt against bishops: leaked e-mails

WASHINGTON, D.C., October 12, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) – A new batch of leaked e-mails from within the Clinton campaign surfaced Wednesday, showing her campaign chair John Podesta admitting to helping launch a “progressive” group to infiltrate the Church, and taking an active role in provoking a liberal Catholic revolt against the U.S. Bishops. In the e-mail, Podesta responds to a leftist activist’s call for a “Catholic Spring” against the U.S. Bishops over their opposition to the HHS contraception mandate. In his response, Podesta indicates how so-called “Catholic” groups agitating for change in the Church were formed to assist the movement to undermine the Church’s teaching, but reveals that at the time proper leadership was not yet in place to accomplish this.…Continue Reading

German Journalist: Archbishop De Kesel’s Being Newly Chosen for the Cardinalate Is Due to Cardinal Danneels

October 11, 2016 breaking Comments Off on German Journalist: Archbishop De Kesel’s Being Newly Chosen for the Cardinalate Is Due to Cardinal Danneels

Maike Hickson The recent announcement that Pope Francis has chosen seventeen new cardinals has already raised much concern and debates among Catholics. The decision to select Archbishop Jozef de Kesel of Brussels, Belgium to be now a cardinal seems especially to have become a matter of controversy. An interview published in Cologne, Germany on 10 October on the website Domradio.de concerning Archbishop Jozef de Kesel himself has already received much attention. For example, the Austrian website Kath.net, as well as the Dutch website Katholieknieuwsblad.nl, have already reported on this interview given by Domradio’s journalist and specialist in theology, Jan Hendrik Stens. Stens claims in this interview concerning Francis’ new set of cardinals that in Brussels – where de Kesel himself…Continue Reading

Father Frank Pavone: I Am Voting for Donald Trump and Pro-Life Voters Should Too. Here’s Why

October 11, 2016 breaking Comments Off on Father Frank Pavone: I Am Voting for Donald Trump and Pro-Life Voters Should Too. Here’s Why

Donald Trump has been the subject of significant criticism over the last few days for a video showing him making crude and disgusting remarks about women. The criticism of Trump is deserved. Those kinds of sexist and sexually aggressive comments towards women have no place in society and are certainly not the kind of remarks expected from somebody seeking the office of the presidency. But when it comes t evaluating which presidential candidate to vote for, Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life says Hillary Clinton’s steadfast support for abortion makes it so he will be voting for Donald Trump — and he urges pro-life voters to vote for him too. “The lewd comments, made over a decade ago and…Continue Reading

Why Catholics Can’t Vote for Hillary—Even Once. Ever. For Any Reason.

October 8, 2016 breaking Comments Off on Why Catholics Can’t Vote for Hillary—Even Once. Ever. For Any Reason.

Some of us are still conflicted about Donald Trump, but when it comes to Hillary, there can be no question. Nothing can balance a bad stance on human life. In Evangelium Vitae, St. John Paul II quoted the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to put it this way: “Nothing and no one can in any way permit the killing of an innocent human being, whether a fetus or an embryo, an infant or an adult, an old person, or one suffering from an incurable disease, or a person who is dying. Furthermore, no one is permitted to ask for this act of killing, either for himself or herself or for another person entrusted to his or her care,…Continue Reading

The contrast between the two VP candidates on life and family couldn’t be more stark

October 5, 2016 breaking Comments Off on The contrast between the two VP candidates on life and family couldn’t be more stark

October 4, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) — Tonight is the only Vice Presidential debate, as Indiana Governor Mike Pence and former Virginia Governor, now Junior Senator Tim Kaine spar to attract voters at Longwood University in Kaine’s home state. The Washington Post reports that “Debate moderators suggest Mike Pence and Tim Kaine are basically the same person,” but a quick look at the record of each candidate shows a world of difference in approaches to the right to life, natural marriage, and family issues. Tim Kaine Kaine claims his faith is Roman Catholic, yet he “strongly” supports abortion-on-demand.  “I’m a strong supporter of Roe

New poll: Catholic voters favor Clinton for president

October 4, 2016 breaking Comments Off on New poll: Catholic voters favor Clinton for president

As the two Catholic candidates for vice president prepare to face off in a debate on Tuesday at Longwood University, a new poll of likely Catholic voters shows that Clinton leads Trump. The poll also shows that Catholics do not toe the hierarchy’s line on abortion, healthcare and religious refusals. Since 1972, the Catholic vote has been a reliable bellwether for the results of Election Day. Key findings include: 46 percent of Catholic voters support Clinton, while 40 percent support Trump. Latinos, Catholic women and Catholic millennials show the largest support for Clinton over Trump. Sixty percent of Catholic voters say that the views of the Catholic hierarchy are not important to them when they are deciding who to vote…Continue Reading
