Christian churches ‘must be made’ to affirm homosexuality, says New York Times columnist

April 8, 2015 World News Comments Off on Christian churches ‘must be made’ to affirm homosexuality, says New York Times columnist

NEW YORK, April 7, 2015 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A New York Times columnist and a corporate leader have agreed that Christian churches “must” be convinced, or coerced, to change their teachings on sexual morality and abandon an “ossified” doctrinal teaching that sex outside heterosexual marriage is immoral. Frank Bruni wrote that traditional Christianity – whether among evangelicals, Catholics, or Orthodox – provides the greatest resistance to normalizing homosexuality in the United States in a recent column in the New York Times. “Homosexuality and Christianity don’t have to be in conflict in any church anywhere,” Bruni insisted. “The continued view of gays, lesbians and bisexuals as sinners is a decision. It’s a choice. It prioritizes scattered passages of ancient texts over all…Continue Reading

Polish Bishops Conference . . . Strong Stand in Light of Upcomming Synod

April 8, 2015 World News Comments Off on Polish Bishops Conference . . . Strong Stand in Light of Upcomming Synod

I received the great news that the Five Cardinals Book™ is now out in POLISH.  HERE It isn’t just out in Polish, it received an endorsement from the Polish Bishops Conference. That is quite a step.  That means that the Polish Bishops Conference is taking a strong stand, in advance of the October Synod on the Family, against the “German” or “Kasperite” position

God’s Great Gift to You: The Priesthood

April 7, 2015 World News Comments Off on God’s Great Gift to You: The Priesthood

Holy Thursday we celebrate the institution of two of the most important sacraments; the Holy Eucharist and the ministerial priesthood.  For without the Holy Eucharist we would have no priesthood and without the priesthood we would have no Holy Eucharist. “Jesus Christ is the great High Priest who has passed through the heavens.  Let us hold fast to our profession of faith. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weakness. But one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet never sinned. So let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and favor and to find help in the time of need.” These are the words of the Letter to the Hebrews –

Laughing Muslims taunted Christians as they massacred them

April 5, 2015 World News Comments Off on Laughing Muslims taunted Christians as they massacred them

“We have come to be kill and be killed,” the Muslims screamed out as they shot the Christians. Where did they get the idea to scream out something like that? From the Qur’an: “Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed.” (9:111) Not that this has anything to do with Islam!

Lying About Card. Burke

March 30, 2015 World News Comments Off on Lying About Card. Burke

Both Michael Sean Winters of the Fishwrap and David Gibson of RNS posted intellectually dishonest hit pieces against Card. Burke. They purposely misread what Card. Burke said in order to put him in the worst light they could. At least I think this was purposeful. If not, then they would be just plain stupid, but we all know that that isn’t the case. Thus, they intentionally twisted what the Cardinal said to suit their ideological aims

Pope says prayers, not ‘gossip,’ needed for successful synod on family

March 30, 2015 World News Comments Off on Pope says prayers, not ‘gossip,’ needed for successful synod on family

By Carol Glatz Catholic News Service VATICAN CITY (CNS) — No matter how weary, wounded or sinful a family has become, the church will always do everything to try to help family members heal, convert and reconcile with the Lord, Pope Francis said. The pope called on everyone to pray each day for the upcoming Synod of Bishops on the family and for the church so that it could be even more “dedicated and united in the witness of the truth of God’s love and mercy for the families of the world, (with) no one excluded either inside or outside the flock.” Prayers, “not gossip,” are needed for the synod, and “I invite even those who feel distanced

Cardinal Burke says confusion spreading among Catholics ‘in an alarming way’

March 25, 2015 World News Comments Off on Cardinal Burke says confusion spreading among Catholics ‘in an alarming way’

LifeSiteNews: Since the extraordinary synod on the family, we have entered a period of uncertainty and confusion over several “hot-button” issues: communion for divorced and “remarried” couples, a change of attitude towards homosexual unions and an apparent relaxing of attitudes towards non-married couples. Does your Eminence think that this confusion is already producing adverse effects among Catholics? Cardinal Burke: Most certainly, it is. I hear it myself: I hear it from Catholics, I hear it from bishops. People are

Bishop backs Catholic school’s removal of teacher over pro-marriage Facebook comments: cites Pope Francis

March 24, 2015 World News Comments Off on Bishop backs Catholic school’s removal of teacher over pro-marriage Facebook comments: cites Pope Francis

SOMERVILLE, NJ, March 23, 2015 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Catholic school has decided not to rehire a theology teacher who rejected the argument in favor of gay “marriage” on her private Facebook page, her family has announced. The controversy began last week after a student found a Facebook post by Patricia Jannuzzi, a 57-year-old theology teacher at Immaculata High School in Somerville, New Jersey. In it, Jannuzzi said that advocates of redefining marriage argue that they “are born this way and it is not a choice, to get 14th amendment rights equal protection” – which was intended for “unchangeable characteristics such as race and disability.” Then, “they will argue everyone should be able to choose” to engage in the homosexual lifestyle. The…Continue Reading

Creepy Catholicism.

March 23, 2015 World News Comments Off on Creepy Catholicism.

Martin O’Malley is the latest Catholic politician to come out as a duplicitous “Catholic.” Deacon Kandra posts an excerpt here from an interview in which O’Malley displays some amazingly twisted thinking to support homosexual marriage–even though he’s a Catholic. As far as I can make out his belief goes like this: “the child of a homosexual couple deserves to grow up in a “proper home” so his gay parents should be allowed to marry.” This argument is on a par with that argument for abortion: “Every child a wanted child.” So instead of wanting children we kill all the children we don’t want and this somehow shows that we love children… Am I the only one to find this kind of…Continue Reading

Polish Bishops’ Conference rejects Holy Communion for divorced and “remarried”

March 19, 2015 World News Comments Off on Polish Bishops’ Conference rejects Holy Communion for divorced and “remarried”

The Polish Bishops’ Conference has issued a communiqué firmly rejecting the proposals that divorced and “remarried” Catholics should be admitted to Holy Communion without amendment of life. The communiqué, published on 12th March, includes the following statement: “In view of the upcoming Extraordinary Synod of Bishops in Rome, the bishops have undertaken a reflection on marriage and family. This reflection demonstrated the importance of the family from the perspective of philosophical, theological and legal issues.   “Identified once again was the indispensable importance of the sacrament of marriage, and the family for the growth of Christian life within the Church
